  • A Hampton Bay branded, Air Cool manufactured, 52" ceiling fan in polished brass model CMF-52. The model name was Windward. The unit was made in February of 1990.
Hampton Bay had a tendency to reuse model names over the years. This is one of the odd cases where this Windward looked absolutely nothing like the Windward models to follow. This is a classic GE vent ceiling fan, one of my favorite styles. Despite much of the negative commentary Hampton Bay branded units receive, this is of very good quality build and is surprisingly powerful for an economy model.

I had the cane blade variant as a teenager. It was in fact the first installment I did myself. I was 13 years old and my Dad had 2 cracked ribs, and he walked me through installing it. I’ve been a ceiling fan “nut” ever since (now 49).

I almost always prefer the cane variants.

Great video on the running of this new ceiling fan in the studio. Looks fantastic and hopefully it will say installed for at least a couple of years before you change it out again. Blends in almost perfect with the ceiling.

It certainly will not be there for years, I won't get around to all the other fans I have if I let it sit for that long.

2:25 the certain name for those blades are Gossamer Wind Blades, but that’s on the Windward II Ceiling Fan by Hampton Bay.

2:58 the blades you're mentioning are Gossamer blades(they appeared on the Hampton Bay Windward 2 and Home Decorators Collection Windward 1(which should've been named the Windward 3) and 4, the former is a 54", the latter two are a pair of 52"(the 4 being remote control) and a 44". All the more modern ones have tri-mount systems.)

@@JordanU The reason I know about that specific Windward is because Skylar Strickland(he owned Tubular Tokes down in St Petersburg FL, did his videos on Dan Spiffy Neuman's channel) had a white one.
