  • We prevented the Iron Horde from taking Talador, time to move on into the Spires of Arak where the uncorrupted and corrupted Arakoa are having a war with eachother. On top of that we also have Kargath Bladefist and the Shattered Hand Clan causing trouble, all in all...plenty of work ahead of us!

      Não Muito Noob I constantly see people calling Gorgrond bad (probably due to all the changes Blizzard made to it prior to release) and Nagrand boring (probably because people wanted it to be as good as old Nagrand).
      Where is Tanaan Jungle and the island that later becomes Netherstorm? And wasn't Zangar Sea going to be an underwater zone? Regardless, Draenor, the continent before the shattering, is smaller than Outland, the shattered remains of the continent. That is definitely not good.

    • @TopDrek
      @TopDrek 9 лет назад +4

      Wlarius old nagrand was boring as fuck though, it was only cool because it was different from the other BC zones

    Spires of Arak was the highlight of WoD expansion for me. I absolutely loved the zone, the mysterious and dangerous atmosphere it had and of course the way the story was presented. We're doing many different things, summoning one god, battling the spirit of another, calling upon the Arakkoa heroes of old and listen to their tales. I need to re-visit Terrokar Forest to refresh the knowledge of "our" arakkoa and reflect upon them.
    I do have an issue though. Maybe it's not the issue of this particular zone, but I feel like it should've been and although it doesn't have much impact on the story of Arakkoa, it's a major catalyst for it's future. Kargath Bladefist. The Shattered Hand clan is still there, we've dealt a blow upon them, but Kargath Bladefist has stopped us. Then we kill him in...Highmaul? Why not Bladefist Hold? How come one of the Lords of War, who had an awesome little movie made about him is a first puny boss of the entire expansion, that we kill in a gladiator arena many miles from his actual residence. A bit anti-climactic and doesn't make a lot of sense to me. Don't you feel like the story of Arakkoa and the Order of the Awakened should've continued with Iron Horde being the threat?
    Oh well. Great zone anyway.

      i for one cant look at teh Arakkoa the same due to the genocide i did to them in the Outlands to became a Skyguard and get my mount just to much guilt

    • @CallMeNoa
      @CallMeNoa 9 лет назад +4

      ***** It's kind of depressing when you go back and look at the Outland arakkoa. They're the Outcasts who have fallen further into darkness and become evil after turning to an Old God to save them, and you look at that and then look at WoD and realize, if we didn't save the WoD arakkoa they would have done the same thing. We are the reason the WoD ones didn't turn evil.

    • @efecandurace110
      @efecandurace110 9 лет назад

      More confusing one is we kill Cho'gall at the end of the Highmaul raid at Mythic... As a side boss. The one sucked all those powers the mighty Ogre Mage is died just like that. I hope they don't throw away Teron'gor too so we can see him going nuts with all those powers he sucked from auchindoun.

    • @bindair_dundat
      @bindair_dundat 9 лет назад

      Also, whatever happened to Kilrogg and his clan? In the Lords of War episode, he was the one who fought against the arakkoa. Yet, they are nowhere to be seen. Not even mentioned.

    • @BlueUncia
      @BlueUncia 9 лет назад +3

      I really loved it too. At first I was looking at these corrupted arakkoa with extreme suspicion, because of what I knew about their Outland counterparts. When they started talking about bringing back Anzu and Terokk, I was just waiting for them to go nuts and turn on me. But then more of their story was revealed, and I started to reverse-engineer what must have happened to the Outland arakkoa who didn't have a champion to help them in their time of need... and I just got really sad. Poor birdmen! :(
      That's really great story telling, too. Not once does the quest chain refer to the Outland arakkoa and how their story must have been a tragic one, so it's not being all like: "See what we did there?! Aren't we clever!!" You're left to figure it out on your own, which isn't something you see all that often anymore.
      The corrupted arakkoa have a lot in common with the Forsaken, actually, but they're still very distinct. I like it. :)

    Here are some more little references in Spires:
    Darkweaver Syth is a boss in Sethekk Halls, which is named after Sethe. Ikiss even refernces his infamous line about trinkets in the Spires quest.
    Lithic has a veil in Outland named after her.
    Reshad is voiced by Megatron.
    Kargath Bladefist is the leader of the Fel Horde on Outland.
    Skettis is an endgame zone in Outland (except Terokk is an asshole).
    Raastok, Ishaal, and Zellek all appear in Terokkar Forest as NPCs.
    There is Hobbit reference in Spires with the scene about the Ogres capturing the party.
    There are many, many more, but these are the main ones I noticed.

    You know, the affects of Sethe's blood sounds similar to the red mist that turned the Draenei into Broken. Perhaps the Legion used the blood for that purpose.

    One of my favorite new rep to work with is the arakoa! They have such an interesting lore so far and its funny how badly I actually wanted to attack that Anzu due to the three year struggle to get his mount to drop before me... still I forgive him because you admitted he wasn't himself so. Hey nobbel :) love these lore vids :) I'm just a bit confused when it comes to anzu... On this iron horde draenor we see anzu as the raven God, but when we fight him in the sethekk halls or whatever it's called, he is named raven lord. Who is then the new raven God, if it is one ofc ;) great work btw with all of these lore vids ;)

    @Rizerr96 9 лет назад +10

    I hope during the final raid of Warlords of Draenor, the allies we made and the artifacts we found on Draenor will be used to help us against the Iron Horde. No, I'm not talking about just clearing a bit of trash for us like the Alliance/Horde did during the Seige of Ogrimmar, but I wan't to have these guys help us out on boss fights, and work mechanics into them that we need to play out. Kind of like the last fight in Everbloom, when we have the mages helping us kill the genesaur, and we've got to free them from the vines, but with a few more raid mechanics.
    An Idea? Well maybe there is a boss in the Final Raid, and we have a bunch of Arrakoa to help us out. Healers have to heal them as well, DPS have to kill the adds on them, maybe they've brought some Apexis Technology we can use to help do damage, or some Apexis Constructs the tanks can ride from time to time to take less damage and do more.
    There are so many different things Blizzard can come up with, I just hope that NPC's will be more useful and more interactive than in Seige of Ogrimmar.. I got really pissed when we killed the Sha of Pride, and then Lorewalker cho walks in after it's death and says: "Oh! You're alive; I've brought help." Yeah well too late fat ass!

    Hey Nobbel! loved your video as always, but something I was hoping you would catch that I've discussed with my friends after questing in spires: Iskaal and other "broken" Arrakoa aren't "cursed", they use the
    same model as the cursed ones but we never hear of them/see them being exposed to the blood of Sethe. (Commenting on mobile so can't go getting specific quotes, but I'll try to do them justice with my paraphrasing) the Talonpriest shows you his broken wing and says "before I had a name I had a place in society, the bottom"(in case it wasn't obvious enough the Arrakoa are based on India and their caste system), with one sentence they conveyed SO much emotion and explanation of Arrakoan society, I fucking loved it. The arrakoa punish prisoners by casting them into the pools of sethe, but their lower class, those deemed unworthy of soaring through Rhukmar's skies are broken at birth and not allowed to heal properly. Now I figure they use the same model as the cursed because it's a huge and easy shortcut for blizz to take, which is understandable, but I like to think they are intentionally broken to resemble to cursed, in an attempt to break their spirit as well, as if to say "you look exactly like the cursed, you deserve to be cast down like them but you're lucky we let you live amoung us"(remember in the spires dungeon there are broken in the lower levels). In any case I hope to learn a lot more about them in the coming patches, cheers.

    I may be the only one to say this, but I feel like Spires of Arak is the best and most complete zone this xpac. It was a complete story with characters that were established and developed and wasn't dragged down by "bigger" possibilities like in Gorgrond and their titan connections. While yes there is some room for further expansion, what was done here is what Blizzard failed to do with most of the central characters this expansion: tell us why we should care.

    One thing WoD constantly does and makes the expansion so unsatisfying in terms of lore is like what happens in Arak.
    The story ends with practically no change to the world, Skyreach stays, presumably under adherent control and the cursed arakkoa stay on the ground.
    Same for talador, Auchindoun is alright but Shattrath still in flames.
    Anyways thanks for telling the story so well Nobbel, keep it up buddy

    A thank you, some questions, comments and a request or two:
    I just subbed to your channel, I definitely appreciate what you're doing and the professionalism you do it with. This sort of thing is perfect for someone like me who hasn't subbed to WoW for ages but still wants to see what the characters are up to./
    Your ten year anniversary video had me feeling the nostalgia pretty hard too. Personally I think there's room for a series, if you're ever looking for something a little less intensive, where you just reminisce about historic moments in WoW itselt. When you were talking about experiencing that open world for the first time and getting trolled I had flashbacks to looking for the undercity and only being able to find this place called Lordearon.
    Speaking of the undead, even though I love them the forsaken seem so out of place now that I know cures physically hurt them to cast and recieve. I put my twink UD priest through hell back in the day. Same goes with the actual rarity of resurrection in the lore, it makes sense, but those little details show how different the game is today from where it came from. Peace between Orcs and Humans? Bah! Never!
    With regard to this video are these bird guys anywhere in Aezeroth or are they purely a dreanor thing? And isn't it kind of funny that the dreanei either named themselves after the orc planet or named the orc planet after themselves despite being refugees? Talk about entitlement!
    Lore wise I would love to see some series' about the lesser focused upon races, for example both the trolls and the gnomes seem like they have fascinating backstories what with being the oldest race on aezeroth with a world spanning empire at one point and the disaster that became gnomeragon respectively.
    Wow that was a long comment, any way thanks again and keep up the good work man.

    Nobbel, you missed something. After the storyline, or maybe when you get exalted with the Arakkoa, Terokk names your character Talon King/Queen, his successor.

    In our reality, we know that Outland means Destroyed Draenor.. What is Spires of Arak, Frostfire Ridge in Outland? Pieces of NetherStorm?? And why Nagrand wasn't affected by the explosion made by Ner'Zhul back in the timw in our reality... That made me curious and if somebody can answer these questions, I'd be glad :)
    Nobbel, Keep up the Good Work

      Little GangsterRO Spires of Arak is gone, it's just completely destroyed. The very north part is Skettis in Terokkar Forest, but the rest is obliterated.

    I'm starting to think, that since we don't get any more raid after Hellfire Citadel.. We could get a quest/dungeon hub of some sort about this possible flying Apexis place? They could even play it like Timeless Island or something?

  • @thedarkpitlord
    @thedarkpitlord 9 лет назад

    Well.. I think you should have mentioned that Sith (50 layers of shadow) is a boss in the Sethekk hall dungeon.
    And that it's hinted that there is a old god (that we know exist in draenor from BC quest in SMV) beneth Sketis (future raid hoo?) in archiology item. As the tale ends with Terrok going crazy (beakbreaker) in his later days might be due to. And there are those that wanted to summon terrok in the flesh but other feared that his madness lingers. So that is why Terrok isn't summoned, just his power.

    Nobbel you missed something huge in this AND the admiral taylor video. go back to his garrison and in the main building, you will find an NPC who will give you a hint to find a key (by the mines) to open Admiral Taylors chest in the main building. Inside is his journal with MAJOR clues towards the lore and what happened! Please go do this now!

    Hey
    i have a question about the apexis. In spires of arak we get to learn about the old history of the arakoa race, aperently there was a clan called the apexis witch once ruled all of arak. They learned to mix up solar energy and magic witch made them very powerfull and tecnologically advanced. it's once said in the quest line that the last of the apexis built a flying fortress before they died out and that the apexis crystal that we collect for the arakoa outcast are the very basics of Apexis secrets and powers. so i wonder. Do you think we will se it as a raid patch? for me it makes very much sense since we never got any real explenation for collecting it for them. i would also love to see a flying fortress from the ground :)

      I'd LOVE that... Arakkoa for HORDE

    • @greenxboy1
      @greenxboy1 9 лет назад +2

      Ziliath
      Screw that, Arakkoa would be an alliance race, the horde can keep the ogres, they were supose to have them back in cata anyway.

    • @ziliath5237
      @ziliath5237 9 лет назад

      greenxboy1 the ogres wont join us now =/
      the Tauren would bond with the Arakkoa over the Sun worship..
      the saberon would join the alliance.... if they didn't get the worgen only recently =/
      i really hoped that the hozon and jinue would join the respected factions...
      but i say Arrakkoa for horde, Etherials for Ally

    • @greenxboy1
      @greenxboy1 9 лет назад

      Ziliath The saberon won't become playable, feral druids have an ability to turn into one.
      For the Arakkoa, i think that the corrupted one would be more likely to follow us to Azeroth with Terrok talking about making new champions and if the corrupted ones are the one that become playable, they would bond with the night elves because they prefer the night and the shadows over the sun.

    • @ziliath5237
      @ziliath5237 9 лет назад +2

      ***** wut? how so?
      they'd get a limited flight (in combat) racial (IMO), and then eventually allow flying at 70...... how would this be any different than the worgens Free ground mount... did they spit in the faces of all those using ground mounts....... i still use other ground mounts on my worgen.... and what about druid flight form... how it it not any different from that?
