- Sprint, REST, Reassess and repeat... This is How you build a marathon of sprints...
- Don't just confuse efficient hard work with inefficient hard work... work hard in an atmosphere or among people those are really working for achieving the same thing you strive to achieve...but first work hard to find that atmosphere.
- Impatience with actions but patience with results, do whatever you're supposed to do that inspires you coz you aren't getting any younger anyway...

I’d say actions create motivation. If you feel demotivated act and let your actions create the motivation. In other words be disciplined

"People who brag working 80-120 hr weeks is just status signaling. No one can sustain high output with mental clarity, your brain breaks down". Effective people work in short sprints that make up a marathon of sprints. This is so true!
I find myself writing notes furiously when listening to Naval.
there are always outliers that can in fact work that many hours diligently and effectively.
ever done lots of little amounts of acid..?
How can you quantify "high output with mental clarity" ?
Its subjective, you can't.

I’ve worked many 60 hour weeks. 12 hr days. After some time working this much, you will not be at your best. Work smarter in less hours. I agree w so much this man says. He doesn’t stutter or guess or say ummm, he’s very confident!
@@KevinJDildonik Thanks for bringing this up at just the right time for me! I strongly subscribe to something identical about the effects of chronic stress - which is modernity in a nutshell - but I need to address the same asap.
Most people don’t WANT to work that hard, the incentives (in America) are often materialistic & not driven by inspiration, discipline, and lifelong learning. Part of me thinks this is a cultural thing, as so many organizations have failed in large part to embrace adaptive learning cultures due to individualism & poor leadership - I am grateful to have started my career this year under a long term leader playing a long term game, & I actually feel my contributions aren’t limited to my job position. I want to try working that Chinese 996 (9am-9pm, 6x/week) for at least some of my youth. What do you do each day you work?
I’m in sales, I determine my own hours and do a hell of a lot of driving. The more I’m in front of people, the more money I can make. So, long hours. Many many 16 hour days, including the driving.
@@mikewoodson6930 the grind is real.. May I ask what industry you play in?

My key takeaways:
- People who brag working 80-120 hours a week is just status signalling. Nobody can work at sustained high output and have mental clarity. Your brain will breakdown, and you won’t have good ideas.
- People who work most effectively, especially knowledge work, is a sprint when they are inspired and they are passionate about the task at hand. And then they take long breaks. Similar to a lion hunting.
o Sprint. Rest. Reassess. And then try again. And then you end up building a marathon of sprints.
o Inspiration is perishable. When you have it, do it right then and there.
o Impatience with actions, and patience with results. Anything you have to do, just get it done. You’re not getting any younger. Your life is slipping away. You want to do it quickly as you can and while you have full attention. But you have to be patient with the results because you’re dealing with complex systems and lots of people.
o It takes time to get products to emerge as you polish, polish, and keep polishing away.
o Solve the problem the moment it happens. Solve it as quickly as possible.
- Success is made up of small wins. Win by each hour.
@David James hahahaaha. Moron
@David James Ok m moron. U seems like an intellectual, have a great day ahead.
@David James you are right, you gotta work hard
Work more than 80 hours is enough i will say

Patience with results is not for faint hearted! Patience is the characteristic of strong willed and confident individual.
ChatGPT:
Indeed, it takes a strong will and a considerable amount of confidence to remain patient, especially when facing challenging situations or awaiting outcomes that are uncertain or slow to materialize. Patience is often seen as a virtue because it reflects the ability to maintain composure, perseverance, and emotional resilience, even in the face of delays or obstacles. This trait is valuable not just in personal growth and inner peace, but also in achieving long-term goals and in fostering healthy relationships. By cultivating patience, individuals can better manage stress, make more thoughtful decisions, and navigate the complexities of life with a clearer vision and a steadier hand.
Hard work is absolutely no substitute for who you work with and what you work on.
What you work on is probably the most important thing.

Marathon of sprints is golden word that came to mind as he spoke

i found this channel and found the real purpose of my life :) thank you so much Naval !!
I'm so glad you've spent so much time clarifying these thoughts, Naval, because it seems like you're addressing everything that's floating around in my mind.
I like the concept of sprint that you talking about.
Thx a lot Naval for sharing valuable tips on business. I got the same personal characteristic as you ' I won't sleep until the problem is solved or the resolution is in motion'. That's why I gave up a law career where a felt miserable. I hate to wait for taking action
More great advice from Naval!

Thanks for this

thanks to you naval.
To each his own. I was successful when I was young and lived like The King Of Queens (Old show where Doug worked, sat, around, ate and enjoyed life), now I'm working towards a goal that I can do until I die, which is helping people and getting them results, something I do for fun anyway. Never follow the status quo for the sake of it. Finding what you want to do for the rest of your life, or a general purpose or set of values is much harder to cement. Do that!
EDIT: nobody cares wether you work hard or not. They care about results or outcome. However 99% of the time you have to work tremendously hard to get the best outcome, or inherit something which can be more than money, say genetics.
@@haiderbashir3113 Huh? I helped people get results. I held health and fitness competitions for 4 years and asked for nothing in return and gave winners prizes. A TON of body transformations. I worked in the personal finance sector and helped people reduce/eliminate debt and improve their credit. I learned from doing it myself, working in the field and just telling people what my opinion would be for them in thier specific situation outside of work again, all free with tangible results.

Who you work with
What you work on
How hard you work
Impatience in actions and patience in results
If something isn't solved get it done he doesn't have any peace or rest until he solves it he literally won't sleep until it's solved.
Who you work with
What you work on
How hard you work

1. What you work on is most important.
2. Work on future ideas that will have huge returns and surround yourself with best person.
3. Sprint. Rest. reassess. Run.
4. When you inspired Act on it. Do something. "Impatience with Action, patience with Results."
5. Solve problems, as soon as possible with all resources.

For sports, YES. For business, kind of cus u gotta have “smart” element too.
You should NEVER have to work hard for anything. Its energy, you need to learn how to balance your vibrations and energy and things you want will manifest. Actions can be a resistance to the things you want. Like going to the gym to work out because you are fat.....well you give fat the energy and fat will appear. But if you believe you are skinny and continue on with something else, fat will go away. If you carry a gun for safety and protection...you will never be safe and might even get shot. It is energy. ALL ENERGY!!
So by your logic, if I believe I'm married to Kim Kardashian, I will be married to Kim Kardashian. Thanks Tavoi for that advice. By the way, Kim says hi.

Won’t sleep until it’s resolved - I mean if you would go to sleep and write it down you could actually resolve it better - your solution might be suboptimal - speed isn’t always everything.
Inspiration is perishable. That is a huge aha moment me.
