Noah Fleder is an amazing martial artist I’ve followed for a while now. It’s been amazing to see his come up but to be forever immortalized in a legacy like MK is unreal. He’s not only the face model for Kenshi but does the mo-cap for him and 7 other characters. Such a big win for the community & super proud
His commentaries with Gemma on video game fighting animations are always a fun time.
It's cool they kept Geras' face model from 11 and actually made him look more like he does IRL. Great design.
They did Sydney dirty though, Tanya's in game model does not do her justice.
Honestly. Shrinking him a size or two from his MK11 look made Geras look a lot better

@@enenrax Sonya should be white. Gemma should be an Outworld character. Outworld on Mk1 adopts a lot of Vietnam/SEA culture, and Gemma is Vietnamese, so she is a perfect fit for Outworld.

I remember when I read online that Gemma is the face model for Kitana. I just found out recently that it wasn't true
They look even better IRL than in-game.
They are made ugly in the game on purpose because feminism and trans stuff, so female characters can't look pretty, otherwise the blue haired karens on social media will cause trouble.
MK is not the first game with female characters made ugly on purpose, it's actually a thing.

Funny how the women face models are beautiful, but the characters are either ugly or super plan. Except the men who are spot on with the face models.

It's weird, man. Female characters looked a lot better in MK11; the game was shit, yeah, but it generally looks better than the sequel.
Taking a look at the subject from a more global standpoint: it seems we're not allowed to have visually appealing females in games anymore? MJ from Spiderman is but one example.
They seem to mess up the face model for Tanya to me. The actual face model is gorgeous but the in game model is wonky

It's all because of the weird hairstyle they decided to give her. Braids usually look very cool, but idk what did they do here.
I never really got the whole Tanya thing, I think she lools cool with that new hair style too. But to each their own I guess.

The face models are pretty well done for the in game graphics, although I must say that some characters look a bit off in some cutscenes. For example, Kitana's face in some cutscenes looks a bit off due to her cheekbones being too big sometimes. When she's expressing a serious face, she looks good, but when she shows sadness or happiness, she looks a bit weird. It makes her look like she's older than Mileena when it's the other way around. Other than that, I love the designs and the character models.
I see the same issue with Tanya's 3D face model, her cheekbones seem too prominent in the game version.
everyone talking about tanya or kitana when i'm mourning how weird they made liu kang and jean-ny cage. it's almost disrespectful to see their models next to the characters.

I think its the same for Tanya. Her model looks attractive but her in-game face looks a bit different. Higher cheekbones and different nose and her cheeks arent as round as the real life model. She does look different.

I think analogue triggers are the only use case that ever really mattered and that’s why we still see those using it. If the PS2 had triggers with a longer throw games like GTA would have likely used those buttons for driving instead of face buttons

Kelly hu is one of my favorite voice actress can’t believe she had this role as well 😭
Sydney Cross looks beautiful, her 'rendition' in the game as Tanya is weird by comparison, not sure the head / face was modelled properly. The game model's face has way more pronounced cheekbones than Sydney has, and the nostril width was clearly increased. The eye's shape is also wrong (more almond-shaped in the game than they need to be). Most of the renditions are fine, but Tanya's is a miss for me. (side note I'm used to do some work on face and body models in Blender, I pick those details up quick)
Some of the models look like people who have too much filler in their cheeks, not sure how that happened since they scanned people.

I hate to be that guy but this is literal proof that female characters underwent uglification in this game... with the exception of sindel (who does look as beautiful as her model) they are beautiful irl but in game are probably 1 step away uncanny valley (also personal exception: megan fox, i was never into her lol but thats just me)
