- Hey friends! Today, I'm going to be sharing with you what I think are 10 of the most overlooked shortcuts in Ableton Live, plus a few bonus tips at the end of the video!

Hey, my name's Matt, AKA Martiln, and I'm an electronic music producer, educator and Ableton Certified Trainer from Australia. I love making music and crazy sounds, and I love helping other people learn how to do both of those things too! I also am the creator of a crazy sci-fantasy world and musical storytelling universe call REALMS. If you like what I do, you can support me in all the usual ways or by shouting me a coffee over on my Buy Me A Coffee page.
Much love! 🥰

I wasn't prepared for the first one!!
I use that one all the time!
Quality, thank you!
Great vid mate
Damn, I'm going to have to keep this video open as a tab for the next time I have Ableton open just so I can commit these shortcuts to memory. Those delete/insert time/silence ones are *chefs kiss* Great video mate!
Glad you found it useful! :)
I remember when I found out about those time-based key commands and my life changed!
For the "Solo" command, you don't need to go and place the cursor over the channel's mixer, just do a click on the lane of the channel you want to solo and press "S", don't have to move all the way to the right of the screen everytime you do this
Totally! Just easier from an explanation point of view because you have to click the track header if you want to solo multiple tracks. :)
You've earned my sub
Thank you!! :D
These were great and very much appreciated. Thank you.
You're welcome! Thanks for watching! :)
Good stuff. Gradually using more and more shortcuts but never the ones you featured here. Shortcuts do help keep me in the flow. Thanks.
Glad you found the shortcuts useful! Shortcuts are such a key way to improve workflow.
Good stuff!
Thank you! :)
Some overlooked gems in here I'll be integrating thanks! Also if y'all aren't using Live Enhancement Suite it's another workflow game changer. Adds some super helpful key shortcuts (that should really already be part of Live anyhow) plus the handy double right click menu is so clutch.
You're welcome, thanks for watching! I've used the Enhancement Suite in the past but didn't really get into it. I could try it out again though!
the most over look one is Ctrl + Drag to duplicate
I guess I just didn't consider this one as overlooked because I use it so much! 😂
Here before 10k ;)
Let’s go! 💪
is there a way to make Live remember your key commands as default for any session?
You can create a template with the key commands and set it as the default set. If you're on Mac I know there's also a way to create custom keyboard shortcuts for some controls, but unfortunately there's not a way to do it for any new session. Hopefully something that gets added in the future!
@@matttinklermusic Good compromise with the mac keyboard shortcuts. I actually have done that with Pro Tools, I'll do that with Live now too. I like your ideas for keyboard shortcuts, I hate clicking around to drop markers, toggling envelope following + sound demoing
This is another example of "getting to the point" and not mucking around. People too often meander in these vids and that is highly annoying. Thanks!
Thanks for watching and I'm glad you enjoyed! :)
