I met Whispering Bill backstage in the Green Room at a concert at the Fl State Fair's Grand Ole Opera's traveling show. I was a "Man Servant" for my cousin Rev. Bill White, who was performing that same show as a Jim Reeves singer. Bill and I are related to Jim Reeves by marriage. Bill was such a gracious and level headed guy and I'm sorry to say that I hadn't known him before that meeting. He spoke freely about his life at the time, and treated my wife & I as if he'd known us for decades!Since that time, I've researched and listened with awe, his music and I became one of his biggest fans. Thank you Brother Bill, I hope and pray that you and your family are doing well!
As an after thought, during that night of the Traveling Grand Ole Opera's warming up and sound checks, I was honored to meet and escorted Miss Kitty Wells onto and off of the stage! I was humbled by the opportunity to hold her hand! She was Still the Queen of County Music, and she reigned as that, during this performance!
