  • That’s Country Y’all presents: Music City Live! The newest and coolest web series straight from Nashville, TN! Your host, Zach Farnum, chats with some of the coolest people in entertainment from our studio in Music City, USA.
We are honored and privileged to welcome Grand Ole Opry legend Jan Howard to our show. Jan helped pave the way for female singers in Nashville. Formerly married to songwriting legend, Harlan Howard, Jan was part of the golden era of country music that many of us can only dream of living through. She was friends with Patsy Cline, performed as a guest of Ernest Tubb’s on the original Midnight Jamboree, and sang with Johnny Cash and the Carter Sisters. She has certainly become a favorite to anyone who enjoys classic country music. As a solo artist she recorded timeless songs such as “My Son” and “Evil On Your Mind” as well as duets with Bill Anderson that topped the charts.
New artist, Mary Sarah, joined Jan to perform the hit, “Heartaches By The Number” which she recorded with Ray Price before he passed away.

Jan Howard experienced so many tragedies in her life you have to wonder how she survived. In addition to being a legendary country singer she was an outstanding American citizen who supported our troops. It’s unfortunate and unfair that she doesn’t have the name recognition that other country music artists have because if you measure her music and accomplishments she easily ranks among the greatest of the great. May you rest in heavenly peace with your beloved sons. God has surely blessed you.
