From its humble beginnings, this 1970 911 enjoyed a varied life, most notably as a rather tasty ‘73 RS replica. It was running well, and beating most-everything off the line around the New-South Wales area of Australia, right up until the 3.0 SC engine gave up with an expensive bang. However, what arose from the ashes of that fateful incident was this, its final, most alluring, potent, primal form: a 3.8-liter (yes, 3.8!) RSR tribute car.

Carrera 1972 i was thinking the exact same way!
My 87 Carrera has over 300,000 miles. I’m still waiting for the engine to blow up.
Not to one up you, but my 82 has 415,00 miles and counting. These are great machines that were built to run and I still get the stares and thumbs up every time it hits the road.
Mr. X thats fantastic. Besides changing the oil, I sometimes get new sparks plugs, distributor cap, and gas cap. I also have the valves adjusted every 25,000 miles.
My 1986 944 also has 260k miles on it and the little 165hp from factory still pull like a champ! It reaches 240kmh easily on the autobahn and I'm not pampering the car either.

Agreed!!! These are not complicated vehicles. These are vehicles that will take you on a journey of passion for a car that was derived from a Volkswagen beetle. Some are scared to dive into these cars, but to those I say life is too short to drive boring cars. Best to you and yours cars.

The R32 GT-R is my dream car but I have to say if I was in that man's shoes and had seen that Porsche on the other side of the street, I would have had second thoughts too!!!!
Bhargav Bose he was looking at an R33 when he was distracted by the 911, which the R33 is personally my favorite GTR, but the 911 is my dream car hands down!

The C10 and R32 are my favourite GT-Rs and in my top ten cars along with the air cooled 911s.

Petrolicious provides a platform for filmmakers to do great auto cinema....that said, they also unfortunately strip the names of the person or team that do the film work, pay them a few quid in return, and puts their Petrolicious brand on it instead...many a great filmmaker have come from these anonymous films...
You have built, designed and had built the perfect 911 for you. And in my book that is about as cool as it gets. I am doing the same thing myself. It’s a slow process, expensive and financially stupid and yet blokes like us still do it. Sure I could have had a new 911 but that’s not the same.

I sincerely hope that All those folks, with the glint in their eyes as they built this car for you have had the satisfaction of driving and experiencing it first hand. That would have been my just reward in this project had I the resources to make this happen. Cheers.

@@jamesshunt5123 Good point. But. I like to know and understand things, also opinions. No doubt, Tesla cars sport some incredible tech and, from a more pragmatic standpoint, one might argue a Model 3 is better than this Porsche. And one would probably be right. But the word I would like to emphasise on is 'pragmatic'. Not exciting stuff, that. The only pro EV arguments I constantly get are 'acceleration is better' (who actually cares except 13yr olds?) and 'it's quiet and comfortable and way more practical and way cheaper to run'... Yeah....they're missing the point. Like comparing Mummenschanz to Metallica. Sorry for the essay, I hope you see my point.
A Tesla is an appliance this Porsche is a work of art.
I own a Tesla, but i absolutely love classic Porsches, the Tesla and a classic 911 are Two completely different things. Both are awesome in their own way

I own one of these....bought it in Germany 10yrs ago. Took forever to get it into USA... The best memories i have with my father were the ones in this car. Beautiful & Brutal...
