Restoration Panels/ Mika=Finland Wolfsparts= Sweden KlassicFab Awesome job letting people know about their metal products. I've used metal pieces from all 3 vendors...we are LUCKY that there are dedicated guys like this making stuff for us, and not making the same parts to compete against each other too!! If you are buying these parts, $$ for metal is a minimum consideration for the build. For the quality you get, they could easily ask for more money! Good job Chris on helping these business owners get some exposure!
Blows my mind what is available now. There is even one or more companies that make a semi-complete 21 or 23 window microbus body, for like, 17 grand! Wow just wow
Do they supply sections like the rear repair side pieces for front, between front apron & inner valance, to repair a hit front. You get what you pay for quality!
What do the new replacement parts weigh in conpareson to the original? How thick is the metal? Is Stainless Steel available? Costs? Started doing K-Gs on 24/12/65!
Whats the price for each side of those front complete quarter panels.the wolfs parts web site list the price in foreign currency..was wondering what US dollars price is approximately for each side..
Chris, who makes the best aftermarket engine tin? I hate buying stuff and then when it arrives it doesn't fit, it feels and sounds tinny (thin) and never fails to have a sticker that says Made in China Thanks and Be Blessed
there is a cosmoline on them I think, they had no flash rust on them. Body shop will rust proof them, they have to put their primers and sealers on them.
Yes I have that issue now. My Oval was cut in the front underside for extension of the front beam. So I rebuilt the car to mimic a late 60's early 70's drag car. Well now - I'm wanting to put the front back to original. Or close to that. So I'm trying to decide how I want to box in the underside of the truck area.
I’m sure I’m not the only viewer to think what I’m about to ask but, is it possible to buy every panel and literally, “build-a-bug” from ALL new parts, except for the chassis back bone? If so, ball park, how much would it cost in parts alone, to build the entire car? Also, what kind of cost would your labor be? Maybe you could do a promotion, where you raffle off the opportunity to buy such a car to your Patreon subscribers.
@@classicvwbugs Hi Chris. I am looking to buy sheet metal for my 67 beetle, and i am not sure which EU company has the best sheet metal parts for easy installation, and good quality. Any idea?
Just want to throw this out there, I'm having a really hard time getting my hood to fit right, is there a secret to getting it to fit right and do they make braces to help strengthen them ?
Looks like there is a little damage to the driver side front quarter looks like it might be rolled in a little where the rubber seal fits. Trying to get the hood even on both sides and trying to get the arch of hood to have an even gap, I would appreciate any info you could give me Doug
I was excited until I saw the price... however, for my application I would be cutting them up as I only need a small area replaced. Might just buy a parts bug at a cheaper cost and have many more parts.
If you think it’s steep, bear in mind that to properly repair these areas on a rusty or damaged bug would cost more in time and materials than it would be to replace the whole quarter instead. People who haven’t properly restored Volkswagens don’t understand. Time is money.
vwhelmot I suppose it’s different for different restoration projects but if it’s your first time and you haven’t got that level of money to burn on a car you have to remember which type of restoration you’re doing if it’s for profit then you have to take into account what level of money you want out of it and then if it’s personal then you have to balance what you think your veedub is worth

Very nice quality piece, it's only a matter of time before whole body shells are made.🎉

They say the 60s was the musclecar era, but what had 700hp off the showroom floor back then?
Greetings! Did you ever publish video on the quarter panel and apron installation? I was looking forward to seeing it.

Man that's rough.
Good thing we're in a boom economy for the disposable funds to fix that monster!

There is a tab to click on to put it in USD. Looking at over 1200.00 USD before shipping.

In the scene when your showing the quarter panel, is that car in the background an L380 car?
Yes turquoise

is it possible to find a brand new shell ?

Appreciate from where can get and buy one like this for old bug 1966 thanks

I think it's coming, pretty soon you will be able to build a split or oval bug from new stampings.
Wolfparts is from Sweden, not Finland. 🤔
Maybe I got it mixed up with Restoration Panels. Sorry.

I have used the Wolf's parts and they are probably better made than the original German stuff.

I wonder how much it would cost to purchase all the parts to put together an entire VW bug from beginning to end? Does anybody have any ideas?
You can't recreate the greenhouse welts.
About the same as for a new modern car.
kydrythm, “greenhouse welts” ? Do you simply mean the welding that may have to be done?
