Small Tip: you don't actually need to get up and make all the traversal on planets each time. You can either save your spawn point on space stations (most recommended) or just sleep on your ship if it has a bed (not so recommended, sometimes you wake up in another location). But also keep in mind that every time they update the game with a big patch (every 3-4 months), you will appear always on a planet.

Your ship wasn't actually too badly damaged. What happened is at some point you put max power to weapons, which was preventing your shields and boost from recharging. @@kettelbe Space Tomato has some vids that offer a couple of tips in short succession. If you just want some general information on how to do stuff they are pretty good I think.
The thing is that there is a lot to cover in this game that becomes second nature after a while. This combined with the fact that some players learn some stuff earlier while others learn other stuff earlier, each from their own experiences makes it hard to tell what is actually needed for each one.
One of the best ways to get introduced and learn how to do stuff is to have someone show you the ropes, since by doing stuff you sometimes automatically go through the motions without thinking much about them, but if you do those in front of someone who's unaware why you act so strangely you recall that hte idiosycratic thing you did was in avoidance of a bug, or to make sure something works as intended rather than being fiddly.
Another good way to learn is to ask in chat how to do a certain thing and mention that you're doing it for the first time. Chat is generally pretty helpful in SC especially towards new players and tends to explain more thoroughly how to do stuff in these cases.

FPS missions (with AI) in SC are currently very bad. Basically because NPCs depend a lot on server tickrate, and in general SC servers are on fire all the time (especially these months, since they implemented the universal persistence of entities; ships, bodies, items, etc). Sometimes they do work, but it's very rare. So until they solve that, its not really worth it. PvP on the other hand can be pretty fun, but again, desync plays a big factor and it can screw you.

Ya not much has changed in 1 year on the gameplay side for SC, they added PES ( persistent entity streaming) in its first iteration which allows objects to exist in locations indefinitely on servers, gameplay wise they added salvage earlier this year and have been refining that, just allows you to scrap ships by stripping the outer hull and pull guns off of them to sell or use. If you are going to keep playing for a bit on your own time, I do recommend asking around on any servers you play on and see if you can crew up with somebody, it will be a far better experience then playing on your own.

the seecond wreck you came across is actually a player ship. 3.18 added persistent entity streaming, which makes everything persist in the verse. at some point a player crashed or something, and the wreck was left there, and you stumbled upon it. which is pretty cool, and I haven't seen any other game do that.

    Correct.
But only from the faction you did missions for right now.
It's a somewhat rudimentary faction system.
    7:40
Go to a space station and store your inprint in their hospital or fly out into space and go to bed far away from other players, space stations etc.
Then try to log out and back in and see how that works. ;-)
    11:43
"Local inventory" is basically the inventory of the location you're in, so space port, city, outpost etc.
Your ship also has a inventory, and so does most armours you can equip and/or loot.
So for instance when looting a body you should check each individual piece of armor they're wearing for any cool loot.
    13:03
    Correct.
I know that it's complicated, but remember that this is just a placeholder system for a more immersive/sim like system where you'll literally carry things from location to location.
    14:01
Your gun has zero ammo, you need to drag ir over to the ammunition slots on your armor then press "R" I think?
It's been a while since I played the game last time (no working computer)
    16:04
Try to press F and look at it for more options. ;-)
    19:35
Try to press "tab" (if I remember correctly)
It *should* give you a ping helping you see what's going on.
    20:43
    Well done!
    You're learning. :-)
    21:00
Not yet, but they're almost done developing them from what I've heard, so it'll probably come in one of the next major patches (probably just a primitive first iteration, but still).
    21:54
Looks like this is a outlaw mission, most of the people here haven't done anything wrong in the eyes of the law.

if you dont want to go through walking around and spawning your ship everytime bed log while you are in space,
you can do this by getting into the bed in your ship and instead of selecting "get up" from the context menu select "log out". next time you log in you should be where you logged off with your ship.
im not a huge fan of the bunker missions, here are some of the more fun missions.
breach and steal - (criminal mission you always get in the crusader system, it will be under "personal" tab)
you will be tasked with boarding and taking out people in a large ship, and you will have to take out 3 ships before you are able to board
hijacked 890 jump mission - (lawful mission)
this mission should appear in the arccorp and microtech planetary systems, but it is more reliably available in the microtech system. this is similar to the breach and steal mission, except it
    is not a criminal mission.
there is also a mission where you are tasked with taking out an enemy hideout in a cave. there are variants of this mission but you will have to have a little bit of rep with crusader security to get this mission.
theres another mercenary mission in crusader that requires crusader security rep and will have you go down to orison (the city on the gas giant) and take a tram to a number of gang controlled platforms. You will have to eliminate a lot of enemies on the way there and it is a lot more fun than the bunker missions.
I'd reccomend playing with an experienced player because sometimes its hard to tell the difference between missions and you end up just getting bored from the repetitiveness. I assure you, there are a fair amount of really fun missions in the game you just have to know where to find them.

JV, you can either logout in your ship bed outside of a station or landing zone, and hopefully wake up there, or you can go to a space station, which has a far shorter time from bed to hangar, and transfer your respawn point to a hospital facility there. I always operate out of stations.

    - They are working on creating planetside habs separate from the main city habs, but it's a way off. But for now, any ship with a bed, you can log out and log in your ship.
    - Med bay and drone bays will be functional, so they say. They are currently working on freight elevators for hangars to load cargo and ground vehicles.
    - They are working on wildlife/monsters, again, so they say. They have concept images
    - You can't boost because you changed your power settings, you had it set on full power to weapons.
    - Star Citizen is in a large part, a sandbox game. There are a lot of missions and rep to grind, a lot of ships to buy but the most fun comes from creating your own fun using the limited amount of gameplay loop they've developed so far, assuming you've spent enough time in the game to navigate your way around and feel comfortable doing so.
If you want a game to hold your hand and tell you what to do, this is not the game for you. It is not linear. Even when fully developed, the creators of Star Citizen do not want it to be linear. It is designed to be a unique existance in an alternate reality. You choose your ship, your occupation, whether you obey the law or not, where you go and what you do when you get there. No cut scenes, no "out of bounds". Join an org and join them on their adventures, that'll make some good content for your channel.

More development time than RDR 2, more budget than RDR 2 - Cyberpunk 2077 - GTA V combined, using already existing engine and upgrading it to their needs same as the other games... Still a shitty, buggy, uninspired, barren, proof of concept of a game...
Not to mention at least half the budget of those games I listed, goes to marketing.

    • @brick-2000

@@fortnight5677 woah definitely not starfied is a single player game while star citizen is a mmorpg two very different games while they have similarities they are not the same. Also on the topic of budget you are I think you are over exaggerating just a bit. And also there is literally no game engine that exsits other than the one star citizen has basically made , that has the tech needed to make a game of to the scale of star citizen, not unreal, not unity not anything. They don't have the tech to have objects exsit in a game world permanently over different servers, they don't have server meshing, they dont have tech to dynamically make ai that feels alive and changes the world. Yes SC is a buggy mess, yes it can be extremely frustrating, yes it's taking awhile but you won't find a single game that is trying to achieve the vision it's set out. I know it's taking awhile but you have no idea just how hard game development is. I don't hate starfield, I really hope it succeeds so it can bring more attention to space games as a whole but starfield and star citizen are two very different games that have similarities but just that, similarities.

  • @LumiLupo
    @LumiLupo 11 месяцев назад

you dont have to spawn on a space station, if you play more than 1 times per patch you can actually lay in the bed of your ship (while its landed somewhere or floating in space) and can log out from there via the inner thought interaction. if you log in the next time you should find yourself exactly where you have logged out :)

  • @bellidrael7457
    @bellidrael7457 11 месяцев назад

7:29 If you log out in the bed on your ship (Assuming your ship has a bed) then you will wake up in your ship, where you left it when you logged back in. You have to be outside of an armistice zone to do this though.
15:35 Yes but also no. Only 10% of planets in Starfield will have life on them.
Also that was a crashed player ship you found.
I'll also say that I'm honestly impressed you didn't die to the bunker. When the bunker is controlled by enemies, AKA 'Go here and kill a guy' or 'clear site', the turrets shoot at you. When it's 'defend a site' then the turrets are friendly. Most new players I've seen don't even realize the turrets are shooting at them in time to not die, or have the sense to park out of line of sight and walk to the bunker.
Also you have to understand that, especially when you don't know what you're doing, you're taking an hour to do what experienced players do in like 10 minutes. A lot of Star Citizen players will log into the game, run and grab their ship, and within 5 minutes of logging in, are on their way to do a bounty or something, and will only take a further 5 minutes to do that, before they go do another one, or do something else. When you're in the learning stage of the game, it takes so long to do things, that doing a single contract feels like a big deal, but then as you get more experienced, you realize you can grind them out and do like 20 contracts in a single play session.
Also Bounty and Mercenary missions become harder as you level up your reputations by doing them. For example, a higher end Bounty Hunter mission might have you go up against a fully crewed pirate Hammerhead, and a higher level bunker mission will have you defend against 3 separate waves of 15 enemies, including some 'Elites' in the final wave who take a lot more damage to kill.
It's also just, not going to feel as good when you can't just sit down and play the game how you want. As a RUclipsr you're looking for content, trying to make the video interesting, when the game is more fun to play than watch in most cases.

    Welcome back to the verse.
If you want variety, try the racing, salvage, and mining. All three are complete game loops that involve totally different gameplay. A number of the investigation missions will take you to cool locations, like caves, and the Retrieval Ops commonly blend FPS and delivery gameplay. Also, don't forget to loot the hell out of everything. You never know where you'll find cool stuff.
Also, as you surmised, there is a reputation system and as you gain rep with various organizations and mission givers better, more interesting missions open up to you. Finally Star Citizen is at its best when played with others, so go meet some people and get up to some shenanigans if you really want to see what SC can deliver.

I do think the bunker bounty missions just not working half the time is one of the most frustrating recurring bugs. Every time they fix it a couple patches later it pops back up.
So much of Star Citizen's jank can be attributed to the fact that their servers are being set on fire 24/7 that the non-server-related bugs just feel so much worse.
