Thank you, Bill. I really appreciate your comment about inflection, indicating more of a "selling" delivery. That had not occurred to me. Also, thank you for showing us your mistakes. That helps me a ton! I can't thank you enough for that. Glad I'm a Bill DeWees member!
I really love the fact that he keeps in the bloopers, it's good to see an ace like Bill show how the profession works and the expectations. Thanks mate.
I love hearing the self-corrections and change of tone / intent. It's amazing at how sometimes those subtle changes make a significant impact.
You have the best timing! I was struggling with an audition that just didn't feel right and boom, Your video upload notification popped up. I watched and it hopped back in the booth to record it again. It felt much better. I submitted and fingers crossed for us both. Thank-you so very much for your all your videos but today's especially!
Bill always makes it look and sound so easy. The hallmark of a true pro.
Wow. Your enunciation reminds me of a Golden Glove ball player in mid season form. Effortless in the ear and each word perfect. Thanks for this.
Another helpful comment from the incomparable Bill DeWees! Thanks.
I cried when I saw this....Bill is that good!
I appreciate your dose of realism, "pick ups" and all :-), Thank you Bill for this video.
it as normal as the normal person .appreciate the fact that you put your video up with an mistakes yiu made in recording it ,good work. Will appreciate if you would place the final work at the last
Thanks for sharing this, Bill. It's helpful seeing others audition just to get out of your own head!
I loved seeing this. I PARTICULARLY liked your retakes...I found myself realizing that I wanted to change something and it "sounding" different. IT SEEMS like the best way to retake is in the moment vs after. Thank you for sharing!
It's always nice to watch the way you audition! Gives me great tips for my own auditions.
This video is a great insight into what a typical job is like. Very useful. Thanks!
Wow! That was really helpful; especially the explanation about inflection. That is so easy to miss when in the midst of the session. Thanks again for great coaching (as always)!
thanks Bill. i just got accepted on The Voice Realm and have an Explainer audition which is worth a lot of money, to me anyway. Great to see how you approach it.
I'd give it an authoritative, mistery "whisper type" Morgan Freeman twist to it on all those questions! Then softly, but confident, peaceful and hypnotizing "Bossy Like" closing. 💥 BoOm- I'm Booked !!
Thanks Bill, you're the best in my book. (No pun intended) 😉 Kudos
Thanks for the video...I did that audition today, too.
Great video, as always Bill...Hope u get the gig!! ☺
CHEER UP!! BILL!!
Thanks for the video, Bill!
Very helpful information Bill...great video!
I'm so glad I found your channel! I am looking to start voice over work, and I want to absorb as much training and information as possible. I registered my email address on your website earlier today.
So how's it going? Did you dabble in it?
very helpful, thanks Bill.
can do more demo vids like this of your jobs!
thanks
amazing skills, thanks for the insight.
Thanks for this!
What if in the voice over audition self tape is asked to be on video? Do you video your face while reading the lines? And is it ok to be referring to your lines on camera?
Advice is greatly appreciated.
As soon as he started reading, I recognized his voice from commercials.
Thanks boss this was helpful, but the font size was to minute, couldn't see clearly though
Good tutorial.
So talented
Hey Bill, awesome video. I was curious - you said "if they wanted something that goes a little further / in your face, then i suppose they wouldn't pick me" or "I wouldn't do that" or "it wouldn't fit for me". Have you, after doing so many gigs, found that if you push beyond certain limits, its not worth putting out there?
I'm asking, because i would have assumed that one could throw it out there regardless and if they don't like it, then onto the next, ya?
Any advice on this?
That's exactly the way this VO cookie crumbles, you answered all your questions accurately.
amazing!
Bill just a Question for you. Im looking at doing Voice Over Auditions in the near future. Do I need to add Music or effects when doing Demos for the client?
Don't, it'll seem to them like your trying to cover up some flaws in your delivery by embellishing with music. Keep it clean and simple with just one instrument, your voice. -Success 🙌
I don't have that voice style, but great info as always. Thanks!
You should just give it a shot and let them decide. You never know...😉
