@@asherburns2953 Really well, waded through a river and it dried off in about 20mins, just my socks were wet, handled mud going up and downhill, no skids or slips, no hot spots (at least for me) took them off after hiking for 4 hours and my feet were fine, again just the wet socks were annoying.
Nice video, you told me exactly what I wanted to know. I also wear Saucony on running on the street and am looking for a trail running shoe for my first Ultra.
Hey Brock! In my experience Saucony has been true to size. I wear a size 12 in boots, because I like more room and sometimes wear thick socks, but in sneakers I always wear 11.5 and Saucony has always fit really well. I also find them to have a roomy toe box. I’m a big fan of the elastic lock laces which make your shoes slip ons, and also give you a bit more flexibility. I hope they work for you. Let me know if you have any other questions.
The new Excursions are heavier than the old ones. I bought a new pair for trail season and they feel heavy. The price is great but I might change it up next time.
Hey DF, I’m not quite sure what scrambles are to be honest. They do great with water though, I’ve gotten these fully submerged many times. However it also depends on your socks, if you don’t wear proper socks it will take longer to dry.
Got it! Well then I’ll tell you these can handle a scramble. Totally going to start using that now. I did a very technical 50k trail race last year that has significant rocky portions and these held up great. I recently bought a new pair and have been breaking them in slowly on the trail. I also did around 32 miles on the Appalachian Trail recently with a heavy pack and wore these shoes and had no blisters or hot spots.
That all falls apart when you have to carry food for two weeks(12kg) and 2-3 l of water daily before accounting any of you other gear. I've seen professional endurance athletes who got ankle rolled in the first few hours of scree traverse with 22-25kg pack. And that's easy trails, without no need to carry rope (extra 5kg when wet, 3kg when dry and you are using really high end stuff), disposable loops and all other tech metal. After it packs get to 30 easily, and well, good luck.
I've just bought a pair for my AT thru-hike. Loving these. I've been battling plantar fasciitis and right out of the box these made a difference.
Plantar fasciitis is no fun! Hope these work for you. Good luck on the through hike, I’m super jealous!!
Just got the tr14 today, going to use them on a hike/jog next week, nice to know they can do double duty.
First off, username is on point! Secondly, nice! I’m about due for a new pair myself. Hope they work out for you.
How did they turn out?

@@LTT.Official Sweet! Thanks for the response :)
Pro Tip I use for ultra marathons, I always pack an extra pair of socks in a zip loc bag and keep in my pack!

Glad to hear it. Good luck training!
I’m 38 years old and have been pronouncing the name wrong since I was in jr. high! I’ve been saying saw-Connie. Lol
bro considered your review... ordered Saucony excursion tr 15 .. waiting now... thank you 🙏
Nice man!! Hope they work for you. Thanks for watching.
I may pick one up. Are they true to size. I’m a legit 10.5w. Like the w sizes. For sub 60.00, great price

Hello! How do you see a Saucony Excursion TR15 for a 30k with varied terrain? 5 to 6 min/km pace. Thanks!
Hey there. I’ve done all my trail races with this shoe, to include multiple 50ks. I hope they serve you as well as they have me.
@@PerformanceOutdoor ok, Nicee! Thanks! 💪💪
Still enjoying the tr14?
For sure. I had to break down recently and buy a new pair and bought Saucony Excursions. Still my fav!
@@PerformanceOutdoor Nice! I'm glad to read that, I have a pair of Excursion tr14s arriving in a few days!
Thanks for the response!!!
Been trying to find the grid C in my size, from the video it looks better than the Excursion 13... Never seen in person.

What about a tough mudder type run?
Yea absolutely. Harder sole with good grip but still a flexible shoe. Definitely would go with trail runners for Tough Mudder or Spartan events.
How do trail runners do with scrambles and water?

@@PerformanceOutdoor thanks for the reply...scrambles are areas of rock climbing on a hiking trail.
