I love my GBD-H1000, been using for more than 2 years now, never charged using the cables and still full charge, I dont use much gps and hr, and I sync to third party apps like stridekick and its the best app for me.. I will never upgrade to H2000 if I will need to charge it every 2months.. For me step tracking is enough..
Had one, sold it. Not that I didn't like this watch. However I think function wise the Garmin Instinct is much better than this watch. Not to mention it had better phone/web app which the Casio lacks. I have a number of G-Shocks and love them all. But my experience with G-Shock software is that long term support is reeeeeeeeeally lacking. My experience with G-Shock is once they come out with a new model (usually around a year or 2 after the previous model came out) they would drop all support for the previous model. So I wouldn't hold my breath on them updating the phone or watch software for too long.
This is perfect for me. I love G-shocks and have quite a few of them but want something that can also track steps/exercise. Tried a Garmin, but it was too much... I don't need body battery, training readiness, blah blah.. plus I prefer Casio's design over Garmin's. Thanks for the review!
i have both, from my experience, instinct 2x solar far more superior. gbdh 2000 feel like simple watch compare to instinct, plus that better battery, instinct all the way
Thank you for the video. Was alittle concerned with the accuracy of the casio heart rate sensor. This coverage on indoor cycling is exactly my use case scenario and was deciding between a garmin and a casio Cheers
I have been on the fence whether or not to get a decent G Shock watch with the solar & compass functions as I'm in Australia & we have plenty of places to wander off, but getting back can be a trick, hence the compass/solar. The other choice was a dedicated smart watch, like a Garmin, with solar/GPS options, but also all the body monitoring sensors, this watch looks like it ticks all the right boxes, now I just have to justify the cost, oh well, anyway your video really did help so thanks. Oh, I've liked & subscribed too if that helps, cheers.
hi, maybe you can help me: whats up with the sleep tracking? i just bnnought one and have the watch on for 6 days now and it still shows no data. even though i sleep between 3-5h every night. did you have any problems with the sleep tracking? it says it onlys need two nights until it works but mine doesnt.
I am confused now between this watch (380€), Polar Ignite 3 (230€) and Samsung Watch7(349€). I wanted to know if any video guides available for training in the Casio app, similar to Samsung health. Also, are there any video training session/ guides in Polar app? I am sorry if it feels like a stupud question🙂 Which one would you recommend among the three for a casual user who is using smart watch for a first time based on the price
Thanks for your great videos. I've owned this watch about two months now and your review is spot on. Can you comment more on solar charging? Almost all my actives are outdoors in bright sunlight yet I see no improvement in battery life. I even exposed the watch for hours on end under a bright lamp and still has zero impact on charging the battery. Other forums I've read state the same. Is this also your experience with this watch and or other Casio watches when it comes to solar charging?
G shock rangeman gw 9400 is solar powered, only. The battery stays always full charged. I this one as well, the g shock gbd-h2000 and yes, you are right. I can't see no difference in the solar charging either. I guess it only really works, if you only use the watch with non of it's features turned on.
Sure is futuristic looking. Until they make an analog version you really have to pair this with the ggb100 mudman. Or dwh5600 with the gbr200 gravitymaster.
@@DesFit I am looking for a good allover fitness watch and after your video I am going to get this one. I needed a good honest review and you provided it. Thanks again!
This is a WONDERFUL review! I currently own a Protrek PRG-270 and was looked at the Gen 1 GBD and wasn't impressed. I wanted a Moon Phase + Solar Charging + Triple sensor watch for a very long time (only casio) and the last one was the GPRB-1000, which did not have enough stock. I continued to wear my tried and tested, but beaten and bruised protrek. I am an avid cyclist and hiker and I was checking if casio had dropped any new watches and voila! I came across this model and your video was the first I saw. Answered all my queries comprehensively. I just have one small general query. There are white deposits on my protrek (possibly due to hard water / sweat) and they make it very hard to press the buttons. What would you suggest to clean it? Thanks
In a smart watch I value long battery life notification delivery and simple use. I feel like apple watch os and wear os try to do too much. A smart watch should be a watch first and have bonus stuff after that.
It's solar and USB. Probably you will need USB often if you use the GPS function, as the solar cell cannot generate so much electricity quickly enough.
Thank You for this review. I'm really interested in getting the other model...the DW-H5600. Is it worth reviewing or is the internals the same as this one??? Would love to see an in-depth review on that model and you do a great job focusing on workouts. Most reviews I've seen only reviews the watch minus workouts. TY!
Great review!!! I've had mine for a month now. It's a great watch. Does everything which is intended to. It could have more sports added to it , definitely. Agreed. Nevertheless, it addresses the most important ones for me. Could have also surfing, that would be a great deal. I have one question for you, do you think that it might be possible that casio would add other features through the app? Like other sports, etc? I have no idea if that is possible. Thank you 🙏🙏🙏

I had to use my fingernail tips to press them. It's a cool looking classic watch but the H2000 is a way better fitness watch
Not sure if it's really in competition with the Rangeman though as it's more focused for fitness and sports, so I think most comparisons are to other sports/fitness watch manufacturers.
It has some nice quirks which I had no idea about it. It's just a shame it's still a bit too chunky for my liking, and depends a lot on phone connection. If Casio released more refined version of this with Tough Solar and MB6, it would be perfect.

I can see the notifications from messages, but does it also receive notifications for phone calls and does the gps use its own? Or does it have to be connected to the phone, to utilise the gps from the phone?
Does the watch do auto exercise detection? For example riding a bike. From step counting, the watch will automatically know that you are riding a bike then records biking data instead of step data? Thanks
