- A small thing can change everything... especially if it's a bad part, like an oil pump pickup. Glad we caught it before the new engine was destroyed!

I think you found beard lint from the two fuzzy bearded boys! 😂
Watching Chad diagnosing the problem was fascinating. It highlights his expertise, and knowledge. And his attitude is always a blessing. Thanks for taking us on this repair.
Agreed! I love the troubleshooting process and it's quite entertaining vicariously through Chad's bright mind.
Agreed ❤
Thx Chad's Fab
God Bless You all and Stay Safe 🙏 Out There
It takes a week to wipe the smile off Chad’s face after mashing the go petal on Gonzo. Great family and content.
Good morning from sunny Florida❤. I love when every single guy on the inner circle has motor problem. "We better call Chad" ❤
Chad testing the truck in the beginning, hits the throttle, and the truck accelerates magnificently, like a rocket. Then he checks all his mirrors over and over again to make sure there are no flashing lights behind him. Lol😅
Good Morning my favorite family to watch.
THANK YOU CHAD! I'm working on a project that is using one of those pans and pickups! Engine is bolted in with oil pan for mock up and i hadn't installed the pick up yet. When watching i pulled my pick up out of the box and sure enough it built the same. definitely will be fixing that! Thank you for saving my engine!!
Just wanted to say, I have been watching now for a couple of years. I enjoy watching you and the crew very much. Thank you and God bless you and the bunch.
Always a good morning when Chad shows up on my RUclips. Remember - if you're not part of the solution, you're part of the precipitate!
Good morning Chad's FAB'ulous family 👋
Growing up on a farm, my dad always used Farm Bureau oil. On my Ford van, I switched to the FB oil. My oil pressure gage fluctuated all over the place. I went back to my normal brand, and no more oil pressure issues.
Chad, I truly do appreciate and enjoy your final thoughts at the end of each of your episodes! You always have such relevant wisdom, knowledge, and encouragement in each of them! I honestly have gained so much from each one of them. It's really cool that your advice is almost always something that I need to hear. It's almost like God Himself whispers in your ear, "PSST, Hey Chad, Danimal is in desperate need of you giving this message! I want you to tell him, .........." Thank you for being so in tune with His thoughts each day!!!!!
I love your content, buddy! Please keep it coming! I haven't missed a single episode since I first subscribed nearly 2 years ago!!! I enjoy every single one of them and very much look forward to a new one after watching your most recent videos!!!!!
May God continue to bless and keep you safe and sound!!!!!
Your favorite Danimal da'WildMan!!!
Love your Channel been watching for years please don't ever stop the quotes at the end of the show those little quips are priceless
True fact my friend too many times folks forget to be done with yesterday and mess up many tomorrows. Hence it's why the windshield is always bigger than the rearview. Look ahead more and leave the past in the rearview. Seek a new tomorrow.
True and well stated. Great metaphor! 🚘 Similarly, “Don’t let the past steal your present.”
Maybe I am right or maybe I am just stupid. I am seventy four and if lucky will be seventy five later this year. I came home from nam to see hot rods on every street corner and with factory engines making three hundred horsepower, the government got wise to us and stopped the big three from high horsepower with smog an other ways to reduce horsepower. Now on google, a LS engine can burn rubber and go to a thousand horsepower with tuning. Will they do away with this technology. Probably try but millions made so hard to stop anyone now... your thoughts shared to us would be appreciated
Oh WOW. I'm not a fan of lowered classics, but Gonzo looks right and tight sitting like that! Delicious!
Great video. I like the straight Chad work, dealing with the issues calmly and professionally. None of the usual distractions. I like this format! Sometimes there is too much goofy stuff going on.
If you can’t have some fun when working at a hobby then no reason to do it. I’m pretty sure during the week when working on customer cars it is much more serious
You are a wealth of knowledge. You would be working on my vehicles if I lived in the area. Unfortunately I live on Kauai 😢😊😉
I've used old license plates to patch holes in the floor of several of my old vehicles. I've pounded a couple into parts trays w magnets glued to them. Of course I have some wall art models too! Never thought of using them for welding shields! Used 1 for a spreader in a gravel screener too! And more than a few for corner brackets on wooden dry boxes in my trucks.
Great vid!
I use old plates to shield when spray painting to keep the overspray off something nearby, I just tape off the mounting holes and it works pretty well
Nothing beats seeing Papa Chad smile when he is on the go pedal.
Son love giving dad his trailing arm 🤙
Just wanted to say thanks for sharing your spirit for life and your wealth of knowledge, the world needs a LOT MORE CHAD AND FAMILY! 👍🏼👍🏼
Thank you Chad and everybody for the update on Gonzo ! Gonzo is coming along very well !
Chad, working in a shop that has built many blown fuel motors, red rags around a motor is a big NO-NO. Love your show
what rags does your shop use? microfiber?
@@caseyrenner7024
Lint proof shop (paper) towels are in every parts store.
Red rags, on an engine build? You are too experienced to make a rookie error like that. Front sump LS did not work in the Trailblazer SS. You need much more attention to the oiling system on a turbo LS. More capacity maybe a dry sump or accumulator. Teach the boys the correct methods!
Video quality is improving all the time!
Surely the solution is to use lint free rags, I definitely wouldn't be happy to have crap running around my engine, But I'm an old fuss pot I'm a bit (lot) of a perfectionist 🤔🤕.
Chad try doing what you did with oil filter inspection then squeeze a section of filter material in your clean vice jaws and smoosh the oil out of it. Makes inspection easier for one last check.
Thanks Chad.
You wouldn't and you're like me. Gotta have pictures.
And I also hate going into restaurants and not seeing. Not that your food is going to come out looking like that.
Better at the end.🤟🏾🤙🏽🤘🏽👍🏽🤷♂️🤦♂️🤭🙏🏽🙋🏽♂️😅😂
Good morning from Hawaii and my favorite OHANA building car ❤ your channel
Another Great Day in the Shop with Chad and Team
Outstanding Content and Video
Thanx for sharing your Great work
Have a Great Day 👍
That was a lot of different things you got fixed. Nice work, its great you being able to work with your sons. Thanks for the video.
Interesting video. Very educational for your subscribers doing builds.
Isn’t Chad an awesome dude calm cool and collective the smile he had when he goosed it
was awesome
CHAD I watch a video from a man in Salt Lake that does motors he’s awesome his name is Dave I’m not telling you what to do Chad I’m just giving you the information from him he’s an awesome guy and he rebuilds
a ton of engines got an awesome shop he does not like those K&N filters
According to him he said that’s the quickest way to ruin your engine other than that it was just information to throw at you to evaluate
I will never tell anybody how to do things
You’re an awesome mechanic Chad and awesome dude awesome family and we love you where I’m from👍✊🇺🇸
Looks great. Has a perfect stance. I'm more of a 64-66 guy but Gonzo is a definite player. The trick with the Tesla brakes was a great tip. going to look into using it on my OBS build I'm doing now. 94 Short bed standard cab slammed and running an LQ9 with a 5 speed...🤓
18:00 minute mark. Chad sound like you was clogged up with sinus issues or something. Hope you feeling better young man. Praying for you.
That would just be my morning voice after only getting about 4 hours of sleep 😂😂 Appreciate the prayers and kind thoughts!!
i took your advice on the pickup tube i put in hunters dads truck. we swapped out the end from the old one to the new one. thanx a ton for the advice and the saved headache.
Chad.your funny...çool and clocltive..then that big ass smile..and Mischievous Grin..after to Stabe the gas a little in the beginning of the Video...lol. 😅 keep up the good work...
You should plug that oil relief valve in that oil pan I just did a DOD delete and everybody says take that out and put a plug in it they sell a plug especially for that you get a lot better oil pressure when you plug it
Youngman!!, never complain about doing or giving something useful to Dad, if you have a skill or something material that can help Dad in anyway, you should ALWAYS feel honored to do/give it to Dad. ALWAYS!!,😉👍, thanks for sharing guys.
That's why you don't use red rags on engines use lint-free rags
If the screen had been built correctly it wouldn't be an issue.
Coming along nicely ! Thanks for sharing .
By the way, don't know if you know, but an AC Delco PF-932 oil filter is a 2-quart long version for a 70-80s Chevy small block V8. That's an extra quart increase.
More oil equals cooler oil. I would have put the larger oil pan on without question. Even if it takes more work.
Awesome job on the suspension and new rear axle. Great catch on the oil pickup tube Chad and great fix to a problem. Was to a crap fair.... craft fair over the weekend and seen bird houses that a guy used license plates for the roof. They where pretty neat. And yes old license plates come in handy for many uses. Can patch floor pans with them or sheet metal holes. Very easy to bend into shapes you need. Keep up the great work. Love the content.
Over here in Mi. we use stickers about 1.3125 X 1.3125, my truck had 320,657 miles on it and when I got my car had to buy a new plate all the reflectorized paint was gone and I had 25 stickers on it.
Check if the oil filter has a longer version available that is a direct replacement. That will get you extra capacity.
I'm collecting plates to cover the entire ceiling of my garage. I figure I need about 1,000 I have about 500 now.
Another great video guy's! Truck is AWESOME!
Always remember ... When working on a car, wash your hands before lunch to make your sandwich better. Nobody wants their lunch to taste like the car.
Chad I 'd put a bit of Marvel Mystery oil in for a bit. Its always worked great for me. (1/2 quart should be enough to work )🙂
This is what I subscribed for. I learned more in the first half of this video, than in weeks of grabassery with the beardo's...thank you Chad.
Love your closing remarks for each video... And clearly your kind manner has rubbed off on your sons. Nice work, sir!!
Old license plates are perfect for painting, welding, source metal, etc.! I love learning troubleshooting tips from your team!
Do u know what size turbo ya got. ??? Glad 2 c it rolling 😊
Make ur OWN PAN !!!!😮
Chad, all those odds and ends will make some enjoyable videos, as always. Truck is looking great. Thanks for sharing with us.😊
watch out, chad needs some tires for that truck now
You could add some volume to the pan ,rebuild it to suit !
To be honest, ebay and market place should be given a wide berth ,use best buy genuine parts ?
I'm not convinced that cheap parts are saving you money.
Sounds great!
You are gaining. Long ago we used to use oversized oil filters to give a bit more capacity , long as you have underside clearance. Take care. Happy 4th
I want to hear more about the tesla calipers! Are they easy to mount? What size rotor? Will they bolt in place of the square body/Eldorado calipers that are normally used in disk brake kits?
If you would have just taken a jack and pushed up on the rear of the engine-- I bet it would have flexed enough to get it in there. Those rubber mounts can move around quite a bit.. Worst case, you may have needed to pull the bolts on the transmission mount and let it lift a couple inches. It was so close. :) .. I think the engine pushed up in the rear would have made it rotate up enough so that the flywheel would angle slightly to the rear, just enough to squeeze it in there. maybe next time.
My grandpa used to make bird houses out of licesne plates and a few pieces of scrap wood. He always seemed proud of them, so I've kept my stack of plates and plan to do the same.
Great video as always! Keep up the good work!
Great video. I'm thinking the truck isn't free anymore. By a long shot.
Chad I have a wiring question for you my brother has a 1994 F 150 Ford pickup truck all of the lights work except for the left turn and the brake light on the left side of the truck only on the rear he tried tracing the wires from the back to the front but he has no power to the left side except for the for the tail light it works can you help him figure it out thank you in advance
I haven’t heard that kind of talk in so long it made me miss the shop. If I ever get an LS , VS I’ll send it to you. Haha 😊 God Bless😊
The front wrap-a-round light on the gift lights looks like it might be useful. What brand are they?
Your rear tires were getting a little loose there when you were doing that 1/4 throttle thing. Suggest you measure the bed, and get a piece of 3/8 plate made up and lay in there. That will both help stick those tires to the road, and soften the ride so it'll be easier on the lower back. And you'll never miss the space the plate takes up.
Couldn't you just jack the engine up a bit more to clear the crossmember with the pan?
I always liked the trailing arms and coils on the older Chevy trucks.
Reading is for when the pictures do not show how to assemble the items. The problem with the writing is that it is poorly translated from an eastern Asia language. You can tell is has been translated from the many grammatical errors.
Done that much work to the suspension it’s about time to pull the body box of frame paint the whole frame
I have a bunch of license plates from California. Do you want them?
Bad decision, go with the larger pan.
great as always great content very entertaining
Hey bro, wrap some electrical tape around the base of your flash light so as you don't hurt your teeth and lips.
Paul had the same problem with one of his builds with a LS3 pan, so don’t feel bad.
Love it guys. Thank you for sharing. God Bless 🙏
Very nice. I learned something new today👍thank you.
Souch a happy family fun video thanks so very much for sharing
My license plates are all screwed to the ceiling. I have used a couple to secure shelves to the wall to prevent them from tipping over.
I can see it now,,, Chad replacing the brakes WEEKLY - Turbo, brake, Turbo, brake,,,, 😂😊
😂😂😂
good job!
two of my old plates are currently a floorboard in my 2008 jeep rubicon its the only rusty spot it has a hole cant find anyone to put this pan in
Good afternoon to All have a Blessed week and Happy Fourth of July
Happy Independence Day to you as well!!
You could have notched the crossmember and the pan would then fall in.
Gonzo is certainly changing from what it was. I think that's a good thing.
thats a common problem they have lintfree shop rags i think they are blue
I've watched every video and can't wait for the next one! Excellent channel!
Chad could you pull an oil tank in line with the oil cooler and get your extra Quarts?
If it was me I’d try to undo a motor mount and jack it up just to see if I could make the room to squeeze the pan in
What a awesome morning thanks man
Could you share the Part #'s for the Tesla calipers please ???
This seemed to be a little different style of video than your usual ones, and I really liked it!
Do not get onx If you live in the Midwest. It does not show even 30% of trails
I see more speeding tickets in Chad's future.
In the time stamps around the 4:20's the video is quite choppy.
Would seam sealer be of any use on the trailing arms to prevent water ingress?
Great video explained everything so simple even my non mechanical dummy understood. CHADS FAB is for everyone to learn thank you . Nobody else explains in color crayons which makes it so simple. My freinds laugh when I say that.
I actually like your work and your videos.
Unfortunately you also heltp that navigation company flooding the internet with theyr advertisements. That company is geting so extremely annoying. That said, some time ago I decided to give all videos I see who do acvertisements for them a thumbs down. So now unfortunately it's your turn.
Have you tried OnX?
We love them, so will take the thumbs down to support a product we use regularly and have found to be so useful.
There is an old guy up north of us that makes dust pans out of old license plates
