I notice you are not using the second screw down knob on the jubilee puller. I'm seeing this same tool in two styles. One with two lock down knobs and the other with only one and dowl pin on the other side. It seems you are using it without the seconds knob possibly due to the ability to angle the puller insert better into the end link?
Wow what a great video. I'm shocked that Rolex doesn't offer this service. You are very professional. Are the pins you use as strong as factory pins? My greatgrandfather was the General manager of the Hamilton watch company in Lancaster PA for years. Him and my grandfather were master watchmakers. My grandfather started the Downing Crystal company in Baltimore MD. He did all the radio crystals for WW2 and all of the Apollo space missions. I have 3 datejust. My 1993 datejust twotone has some stretch I should have fixed. It's not completely stretched out but about half way. Does the jubilee braclet shrink after fixing? I have the 2 original links that came with the watch. Loved your professional work. Berry. Apollo Beach FL
They don't offer this service because they'd rather you buy a new bracelet or flat out buy a new watch lol if Rolex fixed customer's bracelets they'd have way less incentive to buy spend money on a new bracelet or watch. To be honest though they could solve this issue by offering the service but making it like $500 cheaper than a new bracelet so if people really wanted it done they'd be spending almost the same amount as a new bracelet
@@datboi__ I think if people are willing to pay to have original parts they want to keep it. If you do any swap of parts, rolex keeps them, but a new two tone braclet for 3500 bucks but they keep your 18 k watch ? Even the solid gold winding crown, replace by you paying for the new part and keeping the gold crown. Isn't that crazy ? Lol. Neal
@@berrylee6787 trust me I know I just paid to get the hands on my 1989 two tone 16013 replaced and I was pretty upset when they wouldn't give me my old hands (my property)... If I'm not mistaken they're 18k gold so it kinda sucks that they just keep it. I can't believe that I'm paying so much to get the watch serviced and have parts replaced just to lose the parts that I could've sold to offset the cost of my maintenance and parts... Hi Oliver, I assume this is all the same for all brands. I have a worn Breitling Navitimer bracelet with a similar stretch. So I only need to replace all these pins?
I have a Jacoby-Bender band (not the Swiss band) on my steel and gold Datejust from 1975. My understanding is that it is an official Rolex band but was made by JB due to tariffs on completed watches in the 1970s. Is it repairable the same way? Can you provide additional links since I need the band extended? Thanks!
Good Morning, good repair skills and a very good video. Hello great video I found the knurled pins you show in this video now it’s 8 mm X 1.2 but I found 8.7 mm by 1.2 is that ok it should it be 8.0 mm 8 x 1.2 thank you stay safe God bless you and your family
I'm in Hong Kong. My watch is Rolex Datejust boy size and I need bracelet stretch repair. Can I ship to you for repair? Is it include bracelet cleaning? How much?
I'm kind of worried that the pin will fall out eventually. In other videos jewelers fill the old holes with more gold before pushing the new pins in. How do you make sure the pins are in tight after removing the old ones?
Yes a proper job is not just replacing the pins but also include repair the holes which would have enlarge/worn down. Not doing so may be risky as the pins may comes off again. In mechanical practice, both pins n holes must be repaired. If u check the hole is not enlarge or badly worn, then its fine but not if it is enlarge n worn down.
Hi Mike, Yes you can ship to me with the appropriate insurance and tracking. i repair this in 1 to 2 days so you should have it back in 1 to 2 weeks. please email me at your.bracelet.repair@hotmail.com Please also see my thread on the rolex forum. Are the knurled pins original rolex? I want to have mine fixed but then I'm scared that after I have it fixed and bring it to the Rolex service center, they might say that the pins are a fake and would need to change the whole bracelet.
Hi Mig, these pins are not from Rolex, but they are made from the same grade. Rolex will not demand you have a new bracelet as they don’t take the links apart during a service. I have sent watches with repaired straps and never has a problem. Hope this helps. Thanks
