I lost my house in a fire in 2006 and along with it, my best friend, my dog. Among the many material items I lost, was an 1969 Omega Seamaster Soccer Timer Roulette I inherited from my father. I was wearing the 1969 Moonwatch. The house is still a pile of rubble and never thought that anything could be salvaged. This video has given me hope.
@@Peterpic keep killing it bro, I love what you bring and the value to the company. You’re a very humble guy and A If you know, You know type of guy 🙏🔥
And this, friends, is why you should use independent watchmakers instead of the Rolex Service Centers. The independent watchmaker will offer creative ideas and allow you to do whatever you want with your watch (within reason and within the boundary of maintaining their parts account), like save the fire-burned dial to make the watch special to you. Rolex? They won't even give you a phone call to discuss it. They're slapping a service dial on it and you're paying for it. Period - no discussion. With the Rolex Service Center, there is no personal interaction, no relationship, no care other than pushing your watch through an assembly line of prescriptive restorations and moving onto the next one. Watchmakers like Peter treat every watch as something special, because it is. Use the independent watchmakers. Rolex Service Center wouldn't even have attempted this restoration.
Man, I hope LB are paying you a great salary. You're most valuable than any sales person. Anyone can sell for LB, when the top dogs give most of the leads.
I never comment. I mean ever. This was such a great story. Please create more of these stories showcasing the skills of Peter and the rest of the team. Thank you for creating and sharing!
Ive been on RUclips since I was like 10 years old when Akon’s “soul survivor” and lil Wayne “go dj” came out and I’m now turning 29, this is by far one of the coolest and well produced videos with explanation; but not only that also telling a story and showing a beautiful piece of art like that is absolutely amazing. Absolutely love that y’all kept the burned dial to add to the art which is Rolex, keep pumping out content like this and I’ll keep watching great job guys 👏🏼👍🏼
I love restoration videos but they can be a bit long. This is nicely edited and still shows the level of detailed work that goes in. (Although it didn’t show the microscopic lubrication of the parts that I always find fascinating) Great job Peter. Great idea to keep the scorched dial!
You know what’s crazy. This watch is definitely going up in value because of that decision with the dial. Insane watch and what a lucky guy, i hope he keeps that in his family forever.
@@Peterpic Hey Peter, fantastic job on this. I was wondering what fraction of the internal workings ended up needing to be replaced on this one. Were you able to use many of the salvaged parts? I love that you used the old dial.
Peter I am very impressed with your watchmaking skills. You did a great job with the restoration on the Rolex. You definitely found your home when you got hired to work at LB. Keep up the great work😊😊
Peter, I hope you keep on doing these restoration works. You are absolutely killing it when it comes to making customers super happy by doing these restoration works.
When I started watching the beginning of the Vid, said to myself, "ahh, another sourced service dial getting ordered." Couldn't believe in a million years that the discission was to keep the dial. Un-Un-Un-Un believable in both the creative decision and the appearance of the dial.
Old mate smashes his car driving because he was paying attention to your resto,,,, "Hey, you dont fix cars by any chance do you?" Good job on the watch resto. The clean up was sensational
I have recently become interested in watches and watchmaking and this is actually such a amazing video guide, i feel like i understand so much more about how a watch works after watching this video! Thanks a million for taking the time to show us this, hope there is more to come!
Brilliantly informative video. Loved watching the breakdown of the watch movement. A request for the future if you have time, it'd be nice to have an explanation/identification of the parts you're re-assembling and a bit of detail on what they do and how they do it.
what a cool restoration project mate! but if i may suggest, for the next resto video we would like to see the full finishing process and the list of parts that need to get replaced (if you will) anyway, good job mate
Lmao I mean I can understand someone ruining the watch on purpose but to call the restoration fake when you are literally watching it happen on video is crazy lol 😂
Should ditch the music and make this more of an ASMR video. You can experiment with commentary on what you are doing or just settle for graphics explaining.
awesome idea and implementation Peter! Kudos to the client for trusting you! I hope you documented all steps of the process in photos and presented it to the client as an album
I'd be happy if these videos became a regular thing. Restoration videos are so satisfying to watch.
I second this
100%
Agreed
Amen
yeah totally agree. as much as the market videos are exciting they tend to focus on the money and not the beauty of these timepieces. just imo
Yo that dial actually looks so sick!
Insane… like meteorite no two will ever be the same!
this dial is fire !!!
Absolutely love that the client wanted to keep the dial. Looks incredible, great story.
Honestly
in that case, better have more catastrophic events for him n his watches ya - so got more story to tell
Seriously, a Rolex like this is 100x more interesting than a trust-fundmariner.
Kind of want to go burn up a rolex now 🤣
Facts it honestly didn’t even look too bad just a bit too dark but the concept it 🔥🔥 literally lol that client is a real G

agreed 1000000% - this is beast level "mid funnel" customer nurturement
This is exactly what I was thinking while he was doing all of this work. I wonder how much they charged for the restoration. Would be cool to know
Forget the sales team, Peter is the most interesting thing on this channel

Never too long for me. I love the details.
He didnt even use the right size screwdrivers what caused the damage of the screw heads
I am so, so happy that you and the client agreed to keep the burnt dial. It looks incredible, and it has one heck of a story to tell.
Thanks!
Why does the burnt dial look different from the beginning?
I know it is not for sale, but i really want an burnt Rolex dial now. Amazing work btw!
Would love to see more of these restoration videos. Peter is a true asset to the company with his watchmaking skills
Crazy transformation. Watches are incredibly complicated…insane people designed them years ago!

It is so refreshing seing a young man performing this noble art. Thank you!
That is frickin awesome! I think maybe shining up the crown on the dial would have set it off for sure.
