Another Brick Festival, this time back in my home town of Peterborough! I got up early for the drive over on an Early Bird ticket to try and get the best look at some of the bargains on rare and retired LEGO sets from the traders (including the retired Fire Brigade for hundreds of pounds less than it usually goes for on eBay). There were also loads of MOCs and custom Lego sets on show, so I'm making lots of notes of ideas to steal for my Lego city!

Those legoland exclusives were available at target here in the U.S. last year.
It was nice to meet you I was the guy who talked to you and I saw myself in your video too.
It my second time going to that event.
We you be going next year event? If you do can I come I said hi
If you ever see me at an event, feel free to say hello!
Hi Kev, really enjoying the channel, it’s got me back into Lego after nearly 20 years!! Currently building the Disney camera, more to follow
Great to meet you today, keep up the great videos, what camera do you use it looked so cool!
It’s a DJI Osmo Pocket 3.
Hi Kevin. Was great to meet you today and keep up the good work.
how do you cover lego boxes in a plastic wrap?
Interesting, is this a new thing? Normally events like this would open at 10am, with no early bird thing (only the biggest events). Now they charge extra for those who are showing up at 10am? 10am is not early. Clever. This is the "discretional service charge" of the event circuit, to squeeze a bit extra out of the most enthusiastic customers. I'm not against different prices for different times. To spread the crowd, a different before and after 1pm entrance fee, might be a more sympathetic method. Afternoons are normally much quieter (sometimes even too quiet).
It’s pretty standard to pay a little extra to get in an hour early and have first pick of the sets for sale.
I have watched your other channels for years now. I'm finding this lego Channel really interesting even though lego isn't my top special interest, it comes and go.
My favourite types of videos are the conventions and shopping videos.
Glad you’re enjoying the videos!
Hi kev just a quick question for you! Are these events cash only or can you make card payments too? Another great video!
It varies from stall to stall. The vast majority take card.
Thank you!
people need to realise that not all festivals are like the brick live. There was one held in Northern Ireland, which i thnk was brick live, i didn't go, your other videos is making me want to travel to these better ones next year.
Great video but Please try to stop saying COOL so much.
I would if I could.
I can’t believe you missed the Jaws shark in the ‘we’re going to need a bigger boat’ display!
Thanks for letting me grab a selfie with you just after you snagged the Road Runner set!
No worries!
Love the brick Festivals...and you made it before 10am lol 👍🏻
Some cracking sets there..and like you say, at a reasonable price.
I’m always on time to things when I’m on my own! But when Anna is with me her ADHD overpowers my autism!
Great to see you today Kevin, and thank you for your Brickheadz purchase from us at Beanbay Bricks!
No worries, can’t resist Roadrunner!
Brick Festivals are really good and I've had a traders table with them at numerous events now, however I've heard from other traders who went to this and other Brick Festivals, like the one at Oxford yesterday, which was really poorly attended apparently, and footfall is definitely down on what it was before the Brick Fest Live! Fiasco.
I’m doing my best to undo the damage with these videos, but unfortunately positivity rarely goes viral so it’s harder to get the same kind of coverage as on the Brick Fest Live one. Hopefully crowds will start to pick up again soon.
Brick Fest Live really put a spanner in the works, I’ve even had friends that aren’t into LEGO mention to me about that video knowing what I do!!
That said, it’ll pick up at future events as people are still spending … middle of the year is always quieter due to summer holidays … you know as well as I do, beginning of the year and end is always the best!! 👍
Loving your videos Kevin and hope to see you at one of these soon!!
Snazzy
Just watched and what I saw was a lot better than brick Fest live
Much better! Brick Fest Live was definitely the anomaly, most of the local events are great.
@@blockpartyuk my first was Blackpool and it was worth the 4 hr drive
So pleased this channel is having success. I'm really enjoying the content.
Cheers. I’m having a lovely time.
Hi there kevin i have too say thats was cool seeing all the different Lego mocs there also i can see your vision for your lego city looks cool, is anna okay you said shes couldnt make it hows shes doing? good your other video off the festival video thats wasn't great is getting noticed at least people are still coming too you and having conversation and haven't been put off From Julie
Good to see you today!
That Lego Ideas Donkey Kong project is insane! Hope it makes it to 10K supporters!
You and me both!
Excellent display Coops! :D
Pre buying a house and having a child, we spent so much on Lego. I've recently been rebuilding them, and it's like a tour through all the retired sets you're seeing! Have the Town Hall and Fire Station still to rebuild - but have done London Bus, Mini Cooper, VW Camper, Corner shop, Cinema, and Parisian Cafe. Also have a Tower Bridge and Sydney Opera House to build, but nowhere to put them!
That is awesome! Very jealous!
I have a question, do you use a microphone or are you just using your phone/camera microphone? You sound very clear.
I use a microphone - the DJI Mic 2. It’s very good at noise cancellation.
Ghostbusters hq is £843 online. I really wish I’d bought these things when they first came out. I’d be loaded now.
I think I’d rather buy it in person than risk buying something like that on eBay, so I wouldn’t mind paying more for it. Not that I’d ever get it at that price!
Another quality video Kev 👏 really enjoying seeing all the brick festivals I can’t get to ! Keep up the great work
Thanks, will do!
Some great ideas for the city there and some incredibly talented, creative people. That fire station was amazing!!
Yes it was!
Another great trip with you to a brick festival. Thank you for the lovely video Kev.
Glad you enjoyed it
Shame we bump into each other I thought someone was talking to themselves so don't say hello great venue loads of minifigures and all good prices did have a look in BM superstore
I didn’t bother to what the B&M because I go in them all the time! Was a great show though!
definitely bin off the trains ! they distract from the city and are too obtrusive
I can’t - they’re my favourite bit
The bit I enjoy most about meeting you Kev, is everytime it's different. We've met at comic con, and out kids have sat their chatting for half an hr. Other times, like outside the Copperbox after NJPW, we've said hello then stared awkwardly at each other until I just left. Never a boring day if you meet Lollujo at an event lol
Comic Con is my comfort zone, I’ve been so many times I know where everything is, how it all works, etc. Copperbox is new and different and confusing!
@@blockpartyuk Yeah i get that. Also at Comic Con we just checked out a few stalls and like i said our kids were chatting too. Where as at Copperbox you were chilling out in some chairs at Stratford so it was a bit more 'surprise', 10pm at night, some random dude is chatting way to me lol
Dunno why but Lego buzzlightyear is cheaper on eBay than anywhere else. £16 vs £26 online generally
I need the thrill of the hunt. The internet is cheating!
@@blockpartyukhaha!
excellent video. Nearly went. Doh.
Keep an eye out for the next one near you!
Glad you liked my pinball machines and that you had a good time!
It was great, thanks for showing me it in action!
@@blockpartyuk my pleasure!
Hi Kevin is it only cash there or can you pay by card
It varies from trader to trader. Most take card.
@@blockpartyuk was there lots of starwars mini figures ?
