Another great video! Everything looks amazing. I thought of your Tio when I saw the sugar cane. And Blanca's cooking made me hungry. Can't wait to get back up to see you all. Be well.

Great video Elton! One of the best and most fun things for me to do when at my house in Salinas Grande is planting fruits and veggies and landscaping in a way that helps make my property sustainable! I grew up a country kid back here in Ontario so I love to live off the land and to put work back into it to make it better for the families around me! Also there are SO MANY different and great tasting fruits and veggies to try that you can not get back in Canada and I love that! Hope everyone gets to come and experience Nicaragua and all the beauty it offers! Cheers!

Try also creating a aquaponic or hydroponic to grow fish on site. By the way the food looks delicious! Enjoy.

Yes, a video only about the types of banana you grow would be amazing. I have recently noticed that the normal banana we usually buy from 'carretones' or street vendors in Managua, are getting ripe faster than usual, we can no longer buy more than a dozen or even less because the next day will be pass their ripe-time, some people say that producers in the south ( Rivas ), are using chemicals to get them ripe faster to out the production to the market even more fast, others say it's the contrary, that now are using less chemicals. ¿What's your experience with your harvest?

Yes I agree! this would be a great video to make Elton! I have several banana trees at my house that were here when I bought and a couple of them look a bit different from the others. I haven't had the chance to be there when they are ready for harvest but my neighbours say they taste amazing! ha ha I was able to watch each day for 2 weeks and filmed a video series last month as my bananas started to pop out of the pods and start growing, pretty crazy how fast they grow! cheers

We harvest the bananas green and wait for them to be ready for a few days. Usually they last 2 or 3 weeks, I am not sure what's going on with the ones in managua.

You can also grow and breed rabbits for meat if you want to live off grid as they reproduce alot. But not sure if nicaraguans are open to eating rabbit meat.😮

What camera do you use to record? A Go pro?
I am in a similar situation you are in.
I lived in the US and I am now in Nicaragua (Matagalpa) looking over my family coffee farm.
You’ve inspired me to begin recording my journey and would love to get more tips from you. If scheduling a call would help, I am all ears.
Would also look to buy some of your coffee to support you.
