@@weaktearecords Haha good point, I normally try n do this but sometimes I need to curb the ADD and not have too much open at once. Such as if I already have several Kenny Gioia vids open as tabs!
@@christopherharv Balance is good! I have so many new videos from izotope to watch, I have to have time when I can focus and get my brain to absorb all the info. I have a list of Kenny's videos that I watch over and over as references when I need them. It's so nice having RUclips available, it's like a free college whenever you need it!
Another great video-Thanks! I’m already doing the thing with one mixer channel over on the left, but this has a whole bunch of other cool tricks. It’s nice how you emphasize what all can be done with what’s already packed into Reaper waiting to be revealed. 😻

The single fader in the left docker is a great trick that I use for a while and that deserves to be saved as a layout. To adjust track volumes faster, without even grabbing the mouse, I use several actions assigned to keys, like Alt+up and down (for nudge selected tracks volume), and some number pad keys (for +/- 0.5 and 1 dB for selected tracks volume). Reaper's customization possibilities are awesome!
Another great video Kenny...absolute time saver. Loving the tune as well, especially the sound of the bass..!!! Man that thing growls....what effects are no that.? Rik.
I like this idea. I’ve been trying something similar, but it was on a “per session” basis. In other words, I didn’t know how to create shortcuts. I created a template, but I still had to setup every session. Thanks again, Mr. Kenny 👍👍
Woah, like last time I commented, sidenote... I love these bass and guitars, they just sound huge :) My configuration is to have the mixer docked to the right, with only one "lane" visible, the current one. And with one click I change it to access the master. Having it right in the "middle" of the screen might be even more efficient, I'll try this idea! Excellent video as usual, Kenny!
Hi Kenny. Off topic here. I'm finding Reaper sounds cleaner and clearer than Logic Pro. Logic seems muddier. Monitoring: Neumann K310s + K870 sub. sometimes, even the playback on YT eg your channel sounds better!! lol/ weird. j.
Hey Kenny, I really dig all your videos, super helpful and well produced. I tried to set up a Project based on this toutorial. But I must have Reaper configured weird becouse I cannot get the same result as you. I was able to set up the FX in the TCP and increse the height of the MCP. Then all the trouble starts. I am unable to grad the mixer dock tab and move it. It will not highlight or move. Any thoughts on what I am doing wrong. I'm sure its a dumb error on my part. But I sure would like to have this option available. Thank you for the amazing tutorials.
Great ideas bud! Thank you! One similar thing that tends to drive me nuts is track envelopes. Even when you stretch the track there's all this empty space and the envelope is still pretty squashed, so it's really fiddly to use, especially when you need to trag the envelope up and down only by a small margin. Any tips for that?
Thank you for the video, Kenny. When I narrow the mixing window to the width of one fader, I get two faders stacked vertically, instead of one big fader. Do you know of a way to adjust this?
Any idea why my vip1 isn’t muted when it’s connected with usb it was working fine I got a new laptop but now my amp isn’t sending the signal out the usb it’s coming out the amp speaker? My Daw recognizes the VYPYR tho …???
Hmm. Thanks for the great Idea! But it doesnt work, Everytime i select a track the fader stays the same (in my case the master fader) and doesnt change to the selected track. Has anyone an idea? Thanks!
Right click on the mixer tab in the dock and make sure "Scroll view when track activated" is checked. Also notice that Kenny doesn't have the master track visible in the MCP. I think if you use folders, this may throw a wrench into this trick, too.
I’m a simple man. I see a new Kenny Gioia video, I save it to Watch Later
No, you stop what you are doing and watch it immediately! Get your priorities straight buddy 😁

Another awesome 10 mins.......goodness knows how long this would have taken trawling thru the Reaper manual (if ever!!). Thanks again.👌
Very helpful, Kenny! I really liked the single channel view to mix. Again, great video. Thanks!! ❤
I concur with Joe from below. This is indeed a great and very helpful video!
Pure genius!

Interesting that I just a brand new mouse today! It has lots of buttons. This outta be fun! Thanks Kenny! KENN-O-MANIACS, unite!
Awesome!
This will work well on a touuch screen as well :)
That single fader on the left in track view is default for the old Sonar... as you went thru the tracks the channel pops up on the left.

Sometimes it can be hard to grab tabs in the dock. Keep resizing it and it might work.

You can scale your envelopes.
Great video Kenny. Well done. Can I have my full mixer displayed on monitor 2 but still have the capability in the TCP at the same time?
Thank you for the video, Kenny. When I narrow the mixing window to the width of one fader, I get two faders stacked vertically, instead of one big fader. Do you know of a way to adjust this?
Nevermind - "Show Multiple-row Mixer when size permits" was activated in the Mixer Control Panel settings under Theme Adjuster.
