As I piano player who has had 6 years and still going of lessons he is AMAZING, his structure is correct and ckdndkns it's so beautifully played! And the piano would be out of tune slightly from kids hitting notes too hard and rain etc like you mentioned BUT THIS DUDE IS INCREDIBLY TALENTED

Yah know. He has a higher voice than most people. As a singer myself he impressed me not because of his current skill but how much capability his voice does have with proper vocal lesson and technique if you look at it the right way he has alot of potential. Especially that combined with his piano skill.
He has made some bad mistakes honestly. He has the idea, but needs to practice more if he can find a piano at a college and shut the door. Then maybe he can make some money busking. I wish him the best.

As a guitar player, I know many songs. If someone makes a request I knew many years ago, but haven't practiced in many years I will make mistakes. I will eventually get it perfect as my memory kicks in. However I wouldn't do it live or recorded until I remember it fully. Give this guy some credit. He played what he could remember on a poorly tuned piano. I think this guy has much more talent than this video can justify. Good job bro. I enjoyed this.

As a pianist, I can say what he is doing is really impressive, even from a professional standpoint. You can be playing the same song for years but if you try to sing along it becomes significantly more difficult. Props to this guy.

It seems to be an odd choice of words to describe the content of this video, especially considering that they probably don't know him. I'm not suggesting that the performer is incompetent. Actually, he seems to have some decent chops. However, his technique is questionable to put it kindly, even for someone who does not practice often. Some of the aspects that pertain to the application of technique will never escape an instrumentalist: its like riding a bike. Regarding his technique, there's a stiffness that clearly limits him. Granted, if a life-long players practicing and performing rituals went dormant then he/she would demonstrate sloppiness, but during the progression of playing this easy song they would recapture some of the relaxed form (i.e., overall, this is an easy to play). *BUT, HAND STRENGTH IS A HUGE VARIABLE TO CONSIDER, so in his favor, that is something that could be holding him back. Nevertheless, his style is unconventional, leading me to believe that he hasn't experienced any formal training, at least not for an extended period of time. Even folks who are naturally talented will typically adopt bad habits, if there is no one to assist them in curbing said bad habits. This can limit a player's capacity to embark on certain pieces, because their lack of proper training has rendered them limited; in terms of playing more complicated and demanding songs, they're screwed. I've played guitar and sang for over 35 yrs. I've performed w numerous bands and solo tours in the US and Canada and played with a great pianist through a large stretch of this time. During that period, I learned quite a bit about piano: theory, technique and application. My long-winded point -- this guy isn't a big deal. There's a reasons he's homeless. I know this is an extraordinary cruel, and harsh criticism; and arrogant and blindly judgemental, but I don't get the immpression that the "piano man" is someone who has looked to improve his life when given the opportunity. Perhaps, substance use disorder, trauma or mental illness is/are a primary reason(s) for leading to his situation. These aforementioned illnesses are debilitating for nearly anyone and depending upon the severity of the way they present, it's horrifying for the person to endure. But emotions aside, he's not a go-getter. I can see it in his eyes. He's allowed what seems to be a knack for playing piano go unnurtured, just like every other aspect of his life. Cruel analysis? Yes, but probably spot on.

This song is not that easy to play on the piano especially the way he did. He even did the "hand over" move (like Freddy Mercury) so flawlessly and I know some professional musicians who can't do it. Furthermore, most of the right hand melody he plays in triads and the Bass chord progression he does with his left hand is simply amazing! He used 6th, 7th , 9th and diminished chords. He knows the scale to perfection. And to make it more fascinating is the fact that he may not even have access to a piano where he can practice. I'm pretty sure he went to music school because it would be hard to play this song just by ear especially with the proper chords. I mean, I've seen some people play this song by ear but they skip a lot of chords and/or can't do that bass line. Too bad he's a homeless. Perhaps at some point in his life he became addicted to something and lost everything. Who knows, but for sure he is a good musician.

It’s on the 16th street mall in Denver co. There are a few of them and that one is the best.
I was almost homeless travel to Colorado...used to play on this piano on 16st Mall there are serveral piano outtune, I still remember june 3 2016 was tough for me but the courage from the environment around keep me alive. The best gift from Denver ever.. Bless the man, he did great...keep it up brother ...soon you will get back on your feet..God bless you and God bless Denver..

My reply is geared towards questioning the commenter's use of the word "proud." It seems to be an odd choice of words to describe the content of this video, especially considering that they probably don't know him.
I'm not suggesting that the performer is incompetent. Actually, he seems to have some decent chops. However, his technique is questionable to put it kindly, even for someone who does not practice often.
Some of the aspects that pertain to the application of technique will never escape an instrumentalist: its like riding a bike. Regarding his technique, there's a stiffness that clearly limits him. Granted, if a life-long players practicing and performing rituals went dormant then he/she would demonstrate sloppiness, but during the progression of playing this easy song they would recapture some of the relaxed form (i.e., overall, this is an easy to play).
*BUT, HAND STRENGTH IS A HUGE VARIABLE TO CONSIDER, so in his favor, that is something that could be holding him back.
Nevertheless, his style is unconventional, leading me to believe that he hasn't experienced any formal training, at least not for an extended period of time. Even folks who are naturally talented will typically adopt bad habits, if there is no one to assist them in curbing said bad habits. This can limit a player's capacity to embark on certain pieces, because their lack of proper training has rendered them limited; in terms of playing more complicated and demanding songs, they're screwed.
I've played guitar and sang for over 35 yrs. I've performed w numerous bands and solo tours in the US and Canada and played with a great pianist through a large stretch of this time. During that period, I learned quite a bit about piano: theory, technique and application.
My long-winded point -- this guy isn't a big deal. There's a reasons he's homeless. I know this is an extraordinary cruel, and harsh criticism; and arrogant and blindly judgemental, but I don't get the immpression that the "piano man" is someone who has looked to improve his life when given the opportunity. Perhaps, substance use disorder, trauma or mental illness is/are a primary reason(s) for leading to his situation. These aforementioned illnesses are debilitating for nearly anyone and depending upon the severity of the way they present, it's horrifying for the person to endure.
But emotions aside, he's not a go-getter. I can see it in his eyes. He's allowed what seems to be a knack for playing piano go unnurtured, just like every other aspect of his life.
Cruel analysis? Yes, but probably spot on.

Tiger that had to be one of the most dumb things I’ve seen someone say in awhile, they have been big since this song first came out everyone and their moms knows the words to this song and all other queen songs long before the movies
This song is not that easy to play on the piano especially the way he did. He even did the "hand over" move (like Freddy Mercury) so flawlessly and I know some professional musicians who can't do it. Furthermore, most of the right hand melody he plays in triads and the Bass chord progression he does with his left hand is simply amazing! He used 6th, 7th , 9th and diminished chords. He knows the scale to perfection. And to make it more fascinating is the fact that he may not even have access to a piano where he can practice. I'm pretty sure he went to music school because it would be hard to play this song just by ear especially with the proper chords. I mean, I've seen some people play this song by ear but they skip a lot of chords and/or can't do that bass line. Too bad he's a homeless. Perhaps at some point in his life he became addicted to something and lost everything. Who knows, but for sure he is a good musician.
