  • Join Senior Applications Engineer, Dan Nadeau for CES: Creating MPC Elements in Femap. This video covers creating MPCs in Femap, discusses the differences between RBE2 and RBE3 Elements, and explains the reason to use one element type over the other.
    Watch this session to learn:
    • What is an MPC?
    • What is a RBE2 / RBE 3?
    • When should I use a RBE2 or a RBE3 ?

Hi, I have a question, can I use RBE2's to define a hinge connection? Lets say I have 2D manifolded body of a wardrobe and I want to connect its door to a side of it with hinge connection, what kind of approaches I can take?
    Thank you

Hi Ali, this sounds more like a kinematics problem, but here we’re typically discussing linear static structural analysis. Depending on your exact analysis, you could possibly constrain specific degrees of freedom of your RBEs to simulate what you need in a dynamic/nonlinear analysis.
