Of course if he's contributing to the field of science and research that's indirectly gonna help develop the entire world. Everything you see around you, the cars the planes the huge buildings even the phone or computer you are using to talk to a stranger who is literally thousands of miles away from you has been made possible only becuz of the people like him. We humans have even managed to escape our own planet and set our foot on moon. All thanks to the NASA scientists who studied Physics their whole life.
By humanity they didn't mean the field of “Humanities” it means “the race/species of humans”. If it was not for science and research humankind would still be living in caves and struggling to even light a fire

This short video would have helped the 700 million youngsters in this country specifically. It takes effort to find such people from random street and ask relevant questions acceptable to every random audience expected to view this video. Most of the people who comment seem to be perfectionist just like how the country seem to performing according to the so called media. These people are motivated by the knack of finding something new, decipher some unsolved theories. He values his freedom at work more than being in a hierarchical corporate set up.12 lakh per annum with other government perks is good enough to live in India. People like him could have done a MBA and earn anyday. But not everyone wants to do a run of the mill sales/finance job. Plus, research in theoretical physics is not backed by market or industry, hence no money. It is solely supported by government funds. That's why he says pure research in physics is like New Age religion.

But i imagine having passion and studying/dedicating your life to do what you love more than anything in this world must feel so freeing. When I was a young kid i liked this poem "the Road not taken" so much i promised myself to have the most creative/fun job that could make a difference in the world and not get into a race.

Hello physics teacher, I have discovered how to break the so-called laws of Thermodynamics. For instance if you heat up air each unit of energy tends to increase the temp in a linear fashion (mostly constant thermal capacity and ideal gas law) and also the pressure increases in a linear manner, however if you have the air behind a piston and raise the temp 100 Kelvin and you get a force of 5 PSI then let the Piston move it will move a given distance, and if you double the energy hence temp hence pressure you get twice the pressure but about twice the distance the piston needs to move to equalize energy, this is 4 times the mechanical energy out for double the energy in! You can verify, Hooke's law articles will explain that as the compression of a spring is doubled the energy if 4 times larger due to this same reason, the air is a spring that you compress by adding thermal energy. I have more but no one has been able to explain how I'm wrong and given the other parts to what I have found I don't think I am.

In India we die for education, first for getting into iits then for masters then for phd then for a job and throughout the way everyone encourages us, but in the end after accomplishing everything we are just forgotten, paid less than an average btech computer programmer. No wonder the best of us leave the country, there is struggle but no real opportunity in our country.
