You have a fantastic ability to summarize difficult and complicated questions into straightforward, clear and inspiring explanations. Good. Saves me a lot of reading time. Just watching a video with you is enough.

Many philosophies around the world boil down to "self" overcoming and transcending to the "Self". I follow Advaita Vedanta. It's one of the oldest known school of thought and basically just ancient Stoicism.
A fantastic, down to earth explanation of a very complex topic, well done christian. I would love it if you could create a guided meditation designed to help to access that transcendant self.
Small critique. I think we need to be a bit more cautious of the language here. It sounds like you’re equating our core unchanging Self with ‘the transcendent.’ While this is partially true, I’ve found that using this lofty language can quickly escalate to spiritual bypassing. I’ve found the Buddhist language to be most adequate here… the say that our core self is our ‘ground of being.’ Lmk what u think!
I'm still trying to figure out the wording here. I believe the substance of our being, our superior self, flows forth out of the transcendent. The transcendent is intertwined through our essence. Our essence is just the color it takes on Ground of being is a great term
The problem I see with this philosophy is what you consider "an inner perfection of the soul" is very subjective, susceptible to personal bias and for sure also affected by "the little men" you are talking about. This is why I like far more ideas of polish philosopher Jan Stachniuk, who in his works, gives the men a goal to which the divine instincts should serve, which is growth of the humanity as a whole in order to one day conquer the space and the universe. This gives you a leading sign you can follow, because each action and aspiration is put into the perspective of this ultimate goal.
@@mikkek7555 Why you think so? The humanity was already able to achieve unthinkable, like a computer, nuclear fusion, and LLMs. And all of this was made by people guided only by the more "animal" side of human nature, like hedonism, personal interest and chaotic emotion. Now imagine what would happen, if all the humanity would collaborate as a whole with a pure and conscious goal of pushing the mankind forward. We could reach the stars in no time!
@@DawidHalamaI have nothing to add, but I agree. I always say space should be mankind’s last mission. All this gender wars, politics and monotonous culture should just be swept aside so we can focus on space.
I generally disagree 12:50 you could have never fought in your life and have a warriors persisting spirit. Otherwise both men in every fight would give up, from the beginning, one had to have the spirit to go on. And the other could learn this spirit like Seneca talks about. But some have it from the start. Some never get it no matter how many fights they get in. Rising to the challenge and not backing down has really nothing to do with experience. Just character. Its just the beginning of the story is all. The beginning of the training in the school of life, in the section of oppression and self defense. You have to have had a spark, to make a fire.
It's a choice and an experiment without experience. Experience would tell you when to go again and when to run. Going again with experience is going to take more of a warrior's spirit than just being young and eager and not knowing fully what you are doing.
@@lucky6666 many young men think things are worse than they are. And many old men are cowards. So i respect your opinion but still disagree generally. Thanks brother. This is my goal. Appreciate being seen
That's not how it works, you simply can't get a comprehensive idea about a subject from a short video, only a general idea.
I agree. He does. I’m trying to get to this level of understanding and comprehension.
