These are the best tutorials, short and to the point. Other videos have 98 hours of intro plus a commercial where they sell you something in between to get to the point.
do you guys mind if i give some extra tips here no? ok the colour for the shadow depends on where a character is, like itll usually be dark blue if youre outside, but it'll definitely be a lighter shade and places where the skin is forming a shadow would be a slightly redder tone because skin is a warm colour but if youre somewhere like in a forest, a room with pink leds, etc, the colour of the main surroundings (the trees; the pink lights) would be the shadow also, depending on where the light is, it would cover more of the character. and most of the time, light isnt OVERLY saturated, unless youre by a *really* bright, warm light and sometimes its soft and subtle, like outside SHADOWS HAVE AMBIENT LIGHTING as in, if you have an arm next to a bright blue shirt, the shadow will have a little bit of blue in it, while the red of the skin is still there, too ONE MORE THING depending on the shape of an object, the shadow will either be hard and rigid, a little bit blended, or soft and light. like, on a cylinder, the shadow would be soft because it is round, unlike a cube that has sharp edges only tldr: 1. depending on the colours around the character, the colour of the shadow changes 2. the lights location and depth changes how much of it shows on the character AND the light colour matters too 3. shadows have reflecting light, so an object with a bright colour will be in the shadow 4. the shape of an object changes the form of the shadows and the light SORRY IF THIS IS RUDE BY COMMENTING THIS HERE I JUST WANTED TO ADD EXTRA TIPS :(
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen a 15-20 min video when this is all I wanted to know 🙄 plus they didn’t tell me the light pen was on another layer so I thought I was doing it wrong 😂❤❤
Quick and to the point! Thumbs up for that! Any tips on coloring the ambient surroundings a certain color? Maybe you want a greenish atmosphere? Or purple? Etc.
Yesterday I started delving more into lighting and shading and the final drawing actually ended up looking pretty cool. But I’m still having trouble actually visualizing *where* the shading and lighting would be, realistically. Any tips for that?
@acesinger6092 3d models which you can customise the light source of and photo references It can just be taking pictures of yourself with a lamp or something as your light source if you want it to be spotlight-ish or natural light for those purposes etc
Thank you very much all the other tutorials are way too over edited and they keep trying to be funny inbetween the video but this literally just gets to the point with no catch
This is an amazing workflow that works wonderfully if you’re aiming for that specific lighting mood but can also be applied as a base for others. Try experimenting with other colors and brushes! Is tons of fun and I learned a lot in very little time.
Hi, I recently attempted to visit your Etsy store and I noticed it was down. I was wondering if your Procreate kimono patterns are still available to purchase on your Ko-fi store? Thank you!
Hiii thank you so much for checking it out!(。・ω・。)ノ♡ Etsy deactivated my store with no reason I'm stills trying to contact them:(( yes you can! I'll send you the link. I also offer membership now that can get all my brushes for free on Ko-Fi you can check it out too:]

Now THIS is the lighting tutorial I’ve been needing!!! Thank you so much!!!
Can I say something? Remember if it’s outside and the sun is down or smthn like that the shadow will probably most likely be orange-yellow 😶🌫️

I just figured it out click the N
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen a 15-20 min video when this is all I wanted to know 🙄 plus they didn’t tell me the light pen was on another layer so I thought I was doing it wrong 😂❤❤

excelent wow
Interesting video, instant sub!!😀
Also a reminder!
Dynamic shading REALLY depends on the ambience (aka background)
Could you possibly pin this?
I’d probably use something other than multiply as it desaturates the shadows. Otherwise, yes.
Thank you. I can't wait to try this.
What is this app name
Procreate it says it in the title
