I have watched many of RUclipss tutorials on Dot painting but You Jadel are the QUEEN of them all. You detail left me without having to ask question because you explained well and in detail. I am 76 yrs and trying to adapt to the changes that just keep on coming. I am now on the Top of your FAN LIST. I wish we had met sooner. Only Dotting since Covid. I will be watching from this point on any and everthing JaDel. I am your Australian Fan. ❤👏👏👏
Wow, thank you Shirley🤗 I’m so glad you’re here!! You just made my day!!!! Let me know if you need anything. I really appreciate the encouragement ♥️♥️♥️
Great video as always. FYI - I work in a major craft store and have noted customers twisting the sealed bottles open because they think they can get a better idea of the color. If we're lucky they put the lid back on tight so it doesn't dry out. You never really know if the bottle has been opened or not. The stores will also pull older paint forward and put newer paint in the back. I always pull from the back.
Thank you for taking the time to make this video. I found it to be entertaining and informative, and it kept me engaged right to the end! Would love to see this style video featuring your brush work next!!
Oh you called me out!! I’ve been thinking the same thing. I might try it sometime but I’m still feeling like there’s more for me to learn on that one. I think I have that imposter syndrome they talk about. I, in no way, feel like a pro. But maybe if I look at it like I did this one? “I’m no pro but let me share what I’ve learned so far” might work. Let me think about that one a hot minute 😂😂😂 Thank you ♥️ I need the push sometimes 🤗
Awesome… I started out just thinning my paint with water. I got so many comments about how I was ruining my artwork. I’m still not sure I agree with those comments, but I tried this product and I just love what it does. It’s still mostly water 😉 You just gotta practice with your own consistency and see what works best for you then it’s smooth sailing.
See? I could really learn to use a brush more. I just never knew that was a thing until this year. What’s bad is I love painting one stroke flower petals… totally swooshes and it never even occurred to me. 😂😂😂
@@zyiasusie7937 I would love to know. I see Thoughtful Dots is really amazing with a brush and Susan Nelson. Ive spent all my time on the fine line brush…. I should expand my horizons eh? I just always thought that mandala art was special because you don’t use brushes. Maybe I should open my mind. I mean… I’m using a tiny brush ♥️ what’s the difference I suppose.
Thank you for a super video, I am now fired up to do dot painting. I have done it before, I have not done it for quite a while. Thanks again for this lesson.
It’s a bugger to work out. For a long time using that flow aid I really couldn’t tell the difference. But I slowly started to understand what it did and honestly you just have to use it in practice. Eventually, you kind of get it.
I have struggled with these swooshes and your explanations and video has been super helpful. Consistency has been my problem and I never could understand what the problem was. I have done many mandalas but avoid the swooshes even though they look so good on other people's work. I am scared to use them and mess up my work. As you said, practice is key and that is what I have not done but will do so. Thank you. Fiona - South Africa
Oh Fiona I’m so glad this helps if even just a little. Sometimes it’s maddening trying to find the problem when the problem keeps changing. I struggled for answers so bad. I’m really hoping this helps a lot of people. All the way to South Africa?!?! That’s just amazing. Thanks for the support ♥️♥️♥️
This is one of the things that i could never get right and in fact i eneded up giving up on doing anything dotting at all. Watching this has now renewed my want to try again . For me also it was the amount of paint on my brush or stylus thats was also causeing me problems .Thankyou soo much for doing this. FInding the right paint here in australia can be a little tricky and with the paint consistancy etc. Hearing you actualyl go thru the paint is soo much more easier now . THANKYOU soo much for doing this. Much love and another HUGE australian fan
Oh Selene Thank you ♥️ This is exactly what I was trying to accomplish with this video. I’m so happy. Let me know how it works out. If I can help I will 🤗🤗🤗
THANK YOU for this video. I am new to this and your video here taught me so much. You are really an excellent teacher who doesn't waste time. I appreciate that because i want to put the paint to the surface as soon as possible!😂 You have a new loyal follower. ❤
Great video! Thank you! I am trying to find a good craft to do on our girls getaway. This looks so complicated! Was hoping to do a drinking glass with dot art but I have so many questions!
Finally, an excellent tutorial to help me master my arch nemesis, The Swoop! Best one on swooshes I’ve seen on RUclips! Thank you so much!! Just have one question about your ball tools. If you are using the tools from the Amazon link you provided (I use the same ones)the pink tool is actually the .8 mm and the yellow one is the 1 mm. I think you have it switched in this video. Am I right on that?
Thank you ♥️ no.. you are right but mine are swapped. My yellow is the little and pink next. I ordered these years ago. I just ordered 10 new sets and noticed my yellow tool isn’t so small anymore 😂 But.. I don’t feel like the pink is any smaller either? I’m going to sit down with it and figure it out. But in the videos just go by the sizes.. not the colors. It really does vary. My yellow has always been .8. But you’re not crazy judging by this order I just got 😂
Thank you for this great tutorial, it’s explained so much. I don’t have many tools for dotting, could I use pen and pencil ends to practice, until I can get some x❤
You can totally use the eraser end of the pencil as a dotting rod, and you could use a toothpick for a tiny stylus. That should get ya until you can get a set. The stylus set is linked in the description and I think it’s really inexpensive ♥️
You can try liquitex heavy gel. I think it’s listed on my website www.jadelrocks.com on the art desk. Curious what brand is too runny…. I’d probably love it!!!
Thank you for this tutorial, on the bottom row of your sheet you swoosh the different colours right next to each other, what stops them from running into each other? Thanks x
Thank you ♥️ Nothing stops them… I’ve done this so many times and it’s just fun. I think it’s magic. They might be wonky if one was thinner than the other or something.
