At 13:40... you need to install the carriage bolt upwards with the flat bracket with slots... do not wait until you reinstall the bumper on (this is at 20:40 in the video.... there's a reason they skip this on the video. Its freaking unreachable....).... just the upwards carriage bolt at this step... the other one (not carriage bolt, can be tightened down after reinstall bumper ) 22:16
Which light bar did you use for yours? If it was the ExtremeLed X6S what brackets did you get for the install? The ones in the video or the bracket that has a rectangle on one side and a boot shape on the other?
Love the bumper. Install on a 2021 with TSS is a bit different. You have to remove the system from the bumper when you reinstall it. You can first remove the cables to pull the bumper off. When you reinstall it the entire system needs to be removed and reinstalled. Not a big deal but it adds time to the install. Also the factory wiring for the fog lights is attached to the back of the bumper. This needs to be removed and moved up to the grill screws. Easy to do with some cable clamps and replacement screws. The suggested hack to install the two bottom bolts backwards worked great. If you are doing a light bar and don’t get it from C4 you will need the brackets they make. We had to fabricate brackets to raise the power steering fluid tube as well. This was an all day installation but well worth it. I would recommend assembling your winch a day prior to your install. That will save you some time and energy on your install day. The X3 SmittyBilt winch is a wired remote. For that I cut a door in the factory trim piece by the hood latch to provide and easy means to connect the remote. The engage/spool handle can be accessed from the front opening.
Good Information, can you elaborate on how you raised the power steering tube? Did you cut a bigger vertical slot where it runs through the plastic part of the car?
Outstanding. So detailed and easy to follow. Great camera work as well...very clear step by step instructions. Made it super easy to install my own bumper! Takes all of the guess work out!
Thanks for the video. Only issue installing on my '16 TRDpro was the power steering control line. I installed a Warn VR 8S, and its a tight fit. I had to pull the steering fluid line towards the radiator with a zip tie and bend both of the brackets backwards. Not ideal. The C4 webstore has a comment about winch fitment, but I feel like it glosses over this height issue with the winch control box and the 4Runner power steering line. Appreciate any suggestions on where/how to relocate the winch control box.
Maybe I’m not seeing something, but couldn’t this bumper be installed without having to remove the factory bumper? Seems like I should be able to cut the center piece out without removing the factory bumper
Hi I bought a Toyota 4Runner off road 2021 and I want to put on it the body Armor 4x4 tr-19339 hiline stubby black powder coat front winch hd. And I wanted your expert opinion since you know much more than I do. Would this bumper block my front sensor?
The high bar does not interfere. The C4 Website states this now. You have to remove it from the factory bumper when installing but it screws back in place when done.
Yes. Cut off the tabs C4 gives you (ordered separately) and reverse the horizontal piece that connects to the light bar where you bolt the light bar down. Will fit just fine. Took it to a local welder for 15$ and he did it in ten minutes. ;)
What winch do you guys recommend for this vehicle? I’ve been eyeing the Lo pro bumper for a bit and I’m looking to take the plunge soon. Also, any plans on a roof rack for the 4Runner? Hope you guys are doing well in these weird times!
If you don’t see yourself doing ridiculous stuff needing an overkill winch I’d do the Warn Vr10s that you can bundle with it on the website. As far as racks there’s plenty of options but I have a Gobi Stealth rack and absolutely love it. The full rack comes with the sunroof cut out but you can pay extra & get the insert for the rack to cover it so things can be stored there. Doesn’t interfere with the functionality of the sunroof either. These are my personal opinions and what I have or ordered. I also have an UltraSwing which is absolutely perfect. **Be warned** C4 lo pro front bumper takes 14 weeks in production. That’s including the winch & light bar. Gobi roof rack 12 weeks production time. UltraSwing 4-6 weeks production & delivery.
I really wish there was an option to not have the logo on the light bar. Does not look good to me to have the logo in the light bar, kills the clean look.
Wondering why the light bar I ordered with it has no instructions and is missing hardware to install it. Unfortunately I cannot seem to get a response from C4 nor the company that makes the bar ExtremeLedLightbar.
@@spacecarpenter1265 so instead of someone learning how to do something their self they should just always go to a “pro” got it. Well fortunately for me I researched & self taught myself how to do it as I have with many other things. If someone with the knowledge & experience is not present & someone’s willing to learn, how else are they to expand their scope of skills if they don’t have adequate materials to do so? I.e. instruction manual, RUclips videos, articles/books/forums on the subject. However, it is interesting that you would post a comment saying “if you need instructions to install a light bar then you should have a pro do it” and yet you’re on a video on how to install the bumper…ironic.
I know this is a lightweight bumper Is there a Noticeable drop in the front end with added weight of a winch w/o synthetic rope whats the average height lost with this setup?
Synthetic line you will get around an inch. I have a lift with heavy duty springs. It return the side profile of the 4Runner to the factory rake. No idea with steel. You would have to see how much more weight a steel line adds.
If you don’t own a hand grinder like what C4 shows pick one up with a cutting wheel. Any option will work. The plastic is soft. You just have to go slow and cut accurately. The cutting wheels are designed for metal.
You guys ruined this bumper by moving your logo in the light bar. Sacrificed the looks of the bumper to promote your business. I hope you realize the market share you're giving to other fabricators. I personally know of three people that bought from other companies because of this. I hope you reconsider this because otherwise it's a good product. What a shame.
Done about 3-4 of these bumpers now I recommend adding a 1/4” onto said measurements. 3/8” is a bit too short to hide behind the bumper

Awesome product. I installed it in my wife’s 4Runner and she is very happy.

Great video, looking forward to getting our C4 bumpers installed
Is the install of the full bull bar the same? in regards to putting the lo pro bumper first then the plastic bumper/face?

Very minimalist bumper
Looks very sharp
Do you have installation directions for the high clearance additions? Specifically, measurements for the bumper cut?
What happened to the 2010-2013 version? How can I get one for my 2010 4Runner?
Maybe I’m not seeing something, but couldn’t this bumper be installed without having to remove the factory bumper? Seems like I should be able to cut the center piece out without removing the factory bumper
Seeing you guys take that ugly 4Runner front bumper, it’s look absolutely beautiful underneath! No more pig nose styling
Yes, it was the aluminum 90 degree tabs they sent. I cut those and switched the part that bolts down. Fit perfectly in there. ;)

Are the recovery tabs on the bumper capable of supporting a tow bar connection for towing behind a motor home?
We would not recommend towing by the recovery points on the bumper.
Does the Diode Dynamics SS30 fit properly in the C4 Low Pro? Please, having trouble installing the brackets to get it to fit right.
Did you ever get it to fit? Was planning on getting the diode light bar as well
Yes. Cut off the tabs C4 gives you (ordered separately) and reverse the horizontal piece that connects to the light bar where you bolt the light bar down. Will fit just fine. Took it to a local welder for 15$ and he did it in ten minutes. ;)
Great quality bumper and would do it again!!! Held up well after three years. No rust. Sturdy. Looks great.
For the trd pro skid plate , can you attach it after you install the bumper ?
A link to this product on your site would have been amazing.

I'm interested in that information too. I'm looking at Warn Vr10s evo or a Smittybilt X2O 10s. Any issues with these winches?

Sorry mares just realized when y’all posted these questions. Hope it’s help to future visitors to your comment.
My LowPro is being built but I'm going with the WARN simply for the better warranty period and great reviews.
Did you paint the bumper black and powder coat if yourself?
We had a local shop powder coat it for us.
anyone know what the diameter of top tupe is of the bull bar? i want to get mounting brackets for lp9s for them
Any idea how much a shop would charge for this installation?
Yikes. I like it but I don't want to cut my bumper. What other options do I have? Thanks in advance
What powder coat is this? Code? Is it texture or just satin no texture ?
Last I knew they don’t powder coat them. Unlike SSO who does.
Agreed what is it ?
I need this. How long did it take to install
It there one like this for 2020 tacoma?
Is this the mid bar height?
I really wish there was an option to not have the logo on the light bar. Does not look good to me to have the logo in the light bar, kills the clean look.
I just cut mine off before taking it paint.
My fog light was already disconnected after running up a tree stump.

Half an inch to 3/4 inch is what I'm gathering from the forums. Maybe a full inch with steel line

They do not
Can you make an install video for this bumper install on a 4th Gen please.

Sweet!
Honestly, watching this makes me not want to do this to my 4runner...

AGREE! Going to look elsewhere, such an eyesore.
