Sorry, Greg but I had a little chortle when I heard " I wasn't happy with the result ... So I started all over again." Your videos are entertaining AND informative. I really appreciate your dedication to your _hobby_ and you can always go fishing while you wait for the paint to dry.
I too prefer the C-130 (Hercules). I have one sat on my windowsill. Worked in and around them, beautiful beasts they are. Great model, enjoyable video, thanks for this.
Thanks, i just bought this very brand of kit yesterday as a deication to a former rnzaf base commander at Base Woodbourne, Blenheim, NZ. Looking forward to gettingbsome input from the pilots as i build it 🥝🇳🇿😎
I worked on Aussie E, H & J-30 Model Hercs for fourteen years. I had the privilege of being on the initial RAAF J course in 1999 and even had a tour of the LMAS production line. You’re right, this kit looks awesome. (It’s in my stash.) You’ve nailed it. 👌🏼
I am an ex RAF Painter and Finisher, I worked on the H variant at RAF Lyneham....and I have been a model maker for 40 years.....this is a good model and a great build and finish well done pal....I will now buy Zvezdas H variant for my collection...
I love the nets made by you with Tamiya's tape. It's an anthem to the micromotricity. Thank you so much Gregg for this useful and original tip. Blessings for you and ¡ keep modelling!
Great video, easy to follow, relaxed but insightful delivery and hints and tips. Love the Herc, a model I lusted after as a young teen but they were too expensive at the time. I think I was 23 before I got the 1:24 scale Spitfire and with the aid of collected Flight magazines converted it to a clipped wing (for better low altitude manoeuvrability) and a D-Day version with the black and white stripes (to avoid friendly fire). It was the first heavy conversion I attempted complete with weathering and simulated bullet holes on lower surfaces (Axis ground fire). I picked the hobby up again early 50s after my teenage son showed an interest and we had a few fun years in our garage den making models and dioramas for his school projects, complete with TV / RUclips / internet feed (Apple iTV unit I got used for £35) and an old HI Fi rigged in for audio - to help our research and provide light entertainment. I will maybe get back to it :) for myself again in future.
You are a 'fettler extraordinaire" First station I was posted to was Lyneham on C-130K's. Your build is a fine example of the Herc and your skills . Great job!
That looks really sweet. The use of different colour tones on the fuselage really bring it to life. Ehhh the kids threw something out the window ...... you must really love those kids.
This brings back memories! I built the Testors/Italeri AC130A Gunship about 30 years ago, which at the time was the biggest model kit and one of the better detailed ones I had ever built. But I'm truly impressed with the quality and level of detail in this one plus the other touches you are adding to it, and those pilot figures are the best I have seen in 72nd scale to date!
Hello Greg. I like very much everything what you make. I learn always something about construction of model. I have the C130J of Zevzda company. And I wait for pe for cockpit. I have the pe for the rest of the plane. Not for exterior but for inside the fuselage. So thank for sharing all the video's. Excuse my english languish but it's not my motherlangegeese. Have a good life. I speak french normally. Thank Greg
Cracking vid Greg and another challenging kit. The work on those spokes was masterly. I’m looking forward to some videos about dabbling with resin printers! 😉
Once again Greg you have produced a fantastic model! In my opinion you are the best modeller on RUclips and this is part is down to your eye for detail and excellent execution. Definitely an inspiration to me to keep improving. Thanks for the video. Take care.
Awesome build, even with the issues and wrong nose, it still looks the business....brings back many memories as a child of this flying very low level over my house (enough to cause vibrations to move pictures and make everything rattle..my mother was terrified of them....)
My experience with Zvezda so far is their kits have some great surface detail, even if they fall a little short in other areas, easily justifuable by their good pricing. I like how down to earth your videos are, skilled model builder losing parts? oh my... Should not forget to mention, the final "product" looked awesome, and the whole video was enjoyable as always, you deserve a lot more subs😊
Great job as usual! I love the way you add that subtle variation of tone to the green paint. Amazing!!!! I'll try to replicate in one of my builds. Thanks for your lovely videos. They're vey informative.
Beautiful! Cockpit is "I know it is there" amazing level :) Really interesting to watch. And yes, sanding is so "exciting", so I do it for the good half of the build usually :-D
Greetings Greg. Another great building. The result is absolutely fantastic. I really like your persistence in finding the perfect color shade. I have one more piece of advice for you on how to remove the tiny gap between the wing and the fuselage without any problems. I had a similar problem with the build of my Tempest 1:32, where my own clumsiness managed to break the wing and part of the fuselage while cleaning the wash. A colleague recommended me to use Perfect Plastic Putty water-based putty. It can be applied very well to an already finished model and the result is absolutely fantastic. The application can be seen right at the beginning of my last part from the Tempesta build. Sorry, I can't send a link. YT would immediately delete the post. Best regards, Aleš :)
I've built a Zvezda 1/35 Sherman and T34 and a 1/72 P39 and have to say they are seriously impressive kits in both detail and fit. Through eBay they were fairly inexpensive and a happy deal all day long.
Excellent review, and also thank you for the step by step guide, can you confirm what the glue/adhesive you are using…mainly the green top glue when doing panel lines? Many thanks in advance. Gary
Excellent! 👏🏻👏🏻 I have built the Revell Atlas and I'd love to do a herc but prop blades again... Recently saw a Dutch herc depart Leeming. I think it had been delivering tulips, cheese and porny playing cards to the Qataris.
The whole thing came out amazing, really. Figures look like they were done well by you ... Not easy to do ion this scale. Plus they look like they were molded well which helps a lot.
Doing mine as an RCAF bird, using the Belcher Bits decals along with some kit decals. I painted it 3 times before I was happy with the grey. It puts the Italeri offering to shame (the engines were the worst)...
Great job as always, really enjoy your videos.....I was a tad disappointed though that you didnt leave everything open as the internals could have been wonderfully detailed by yourself. Perhaps even incorporate the model into a diorama?
The Interior detail is ok but would require money for the upgrade sets, not cheap. I could scratch build but unfortunately time isn't on my side, busy life👍
At first I thought that the Revell props were from a Hercules... 😶 I knew that Revell likes to play with their proportions but that would have been quite over the top. 🙂 The kit from Zvezda is a very good representation of the real plane. Nice end result!
Right, that’s it, time to dig out my 1/48 Italeri rendition of this kit, 😂 and hopefully do somewhere near as good a job yours, which is absolutely stunning. 👍
Hi Greg, great build as always. You mention about the size difference between the Hercules and A400m props. The herc was used as a test bed for the A400m engine. If you Google a400m Hercules test you can see the old raf weather research herc with 1 a400m engine and prop fitted which shows the huge size difference. During testing the herc was able to fly on the power from just this one a400m engine. Looking forward to your next project.
Brilliant work, as ever Greg 👍 The larger props you fitted look like they would have to intermesh 😱😂 I always look forward to your videos. Perhaps one day I may be able to talk you into building a 1/48 Lightning T4 for me? 😉
Some years ago built a master twin-seat nose for the 1/32 Trumpeter lightning. I'll on the next vid show the part, it's still sitting here waiting to be finished, along with 1/32 T-bird Hunter. Which I must build at some point. So much to do so little time to do it😂
Nailed it again, Greg. If you hop on Patreon I’ll support you there, would love to see you post WIP shots and build notes as you work through a project. Exemplary work!
Cheers Con. I did consider all the other sites, but with most of them you need to provide extra content. But the trouble is I couldn't commit to that with the limited time I have. It takes most of my spare time putting these videos together. Maybe when I retire😂😂, I'll reconsider. Greg👍
Hi Greg,Fantastic result.I remember as a kid getting the original Airfix kit for Christmas (as it was way out of my pocket money range) and proceeded to finish it in high gloss Airfix paints (remember the horrible glass bottles?) the range of paints/materials/tools is so match better now (If a bit expensive) I wonder how many dedicated young modellers are out there in this digital age?
I think you'd be surprised; my kids spend similar amounts of time with plastic kits as they do 'gaming'. War Thunder might be plastic kit manufacturers' greatest advert.
Hi Greg - Herculean effort (sorry, couldn't resist) on a great subject - crew figures are superb, especially compared to the blobs you get with some other kits. If only someone would put out a decent range of 1/72 hard plastic pilots/ground crew/tank crew etc... Thanks for the vid, looking forward to the next (no pressure!), cheers.
Спасибо за описание !

Either that or walk down to the beach, five minutes away, and just stare out to sea 😂🚢👍
I too prefer the C-130 (Hercules). I have one sat on my windowsill. Worked in and around them, beautiful beasts they are. Great model, enjoyable video, thanks for this.

Hi Greg, the C-130J turned out absolutely superbly, well done mate, best regards from a Kiwi living in Australia 👍👍👍
Thanks Les 👍

Thanks very much for this. Excellent coverage here. Zvezda looks aweome.
Saturday morning TV! Much better than Why Don’t You.
Thanks Greg - fantastic build as always.
Blimey, that and Daktari bring back memories for me 😂
Your crew figure painting, and red netting for fuselage seats just blew me away, excellent!!!! Great videos, thank you.
Thank you very much👍
Greg you did a fabulous job of this kit. You are true Master modeller. Love watching your videos. You are a true inspiration.
Hello Greg. I really love your Channel. Thank you very much for sharing with us😊.
Many greetings from Denmark.
Thank you👍
I love the nets made by you with Tamiya's tape. It's an anthem to the micromotricity. Thank you so much Gregg for this useful and original tip. Blessings for you and ¡ keep modelling!

Hello from Texas! Absolutely stunning, Greg!

Hello Greg, this C-130J-30 turned out wonderful nicely nice transport plane four engines. I like this plane very much. ❤️👍🤗😁😀🇺🇲🇺🇲
Congratulations for the outcome!!! Very well made model and clear explanations about building it and its "faults". Thank you!!
Thank you very much👍
That looks great Greg, and it's great that you can see quite a lot of the cockpit details through the canopy.
That looks superb, I have this kit in the stash and have been looking forward to seeing your build on the subject and you haven't dissapointed!
Great job! I like the subtle panel shading differences you painted all over the fuselage. Looks like a proper RAF Herc.
Thank you👍
Great to see a video from you Greg, well done sir, this is a masters class in modelling my friend, thank you
This brings back memories! I built the Testors/Italeri AC130A Gunship about 30 years ago, which at the time was the biggest model kit and one of the better detailed ones I had ever built. I've been dragging that same 1/48 AC-130 kit around for 30+ years; may get to it one day!
Very good kit (from italeri) very nice job, well done, bravo!

First comment - been looking forward to this!! My weekend has been improved already - thank you !!
Fantastic!
Magnificent work friend!!, you are a master!!; A great model with very good dimensions for the scale it is. Best regards from Mexico!!
Cracking vid Greg and another challenging kit. The work on those spokes was masterly.
I’m looking forward to some videos about dabbling with resin printers! 😉

Haha- this was meant to be the comment on your most recent car build! I shall duly copy and paste…
Another great job Greg , always a great day when one of your build’s appears on you tube
Beautiful work Greg. I really like it, well done. 😍👏👍🏻
Really impressive. The kit is awesome, jaw dropping skills as usual for the assembly. Beautiful. Regards from France.
Thank you very much 👍
Very Nicely done.
I certainly enjoyed the build and the entertainment.
Great work Greg. Looks spot on.
Once again Greg you have produced a fantastic model! In my opinion you are the best modeller on RUclips and this is part is down to your eye for detail and excellent execution. Definitely an inspiration to me to keep improving. Thanks for the video. Take care.
Wow, thanks👍
Beautifully done Greg, captured the patchy look perfectly.
Cheers Steve👍
Awesome build, even with the issues and wrong nose, it still looks the business....brings back many memories as a child of this flying very low level over my house (enough to cause vibrations to move pictures and make everything rattle..my mother was terrified of them....)
Use to work at Marshall (MADG) in Cambridge and always loved the sound of the Hurc.
Superb job Greg, looks wonderful 👏👏
Awesome job... I hope in a 2nd video for the complete painting process!
Great build mate. I have this with Indian decals planned.
A fantastic result there Greg, great stuff, I’d been looking forward to this and wasn’t disappointed 👌👏
Thanks 👍
Great build as always and so loving your "life's too short" attitude, very refreshing. Shame the C-130 will soon disappear from RAF service.
Yes its very sad😒
My experience with Zvezda so far is their kits have some great surface detail, even if they fall a little short in other areas, easily justifuable by their good pricing.

Great job as usual! I love the way you add that subtle variation of tone to the green paint. Amazing!!!! I'll try to replicate in one of my builds. Thanks for your lovely videos. They're vey informative.
Nice work. I have this one and getting the short C130H next week. Going to cross kit them to make an RAF stretched C130H from them. And a short J too.
Splendid Greg, as always!
👍😎
Fantastic as always!. Looks a rather sweet kit!.
Thanks 👍
Beautiful job!!! Have same kit on bench right now, to be an RCAF version...
Go for it!
Yet another kit you've excelled at, is there no end to your talent.
Very good commentary and video sequence. Helpful stuff 👍.
Superb work Greg!👍👊
Beautiful result as usual. The subject isn't my cup of tea, but just watching the process more than makes up for it!
What a lovely kit. Bloody big as well. Lovely finish to it 👍
Excellent build loved the color you nailed it !
Cheers 👍
Beautiful! Cockpit is "I know it is there" amazing level :) Really interesting to watch.

Nice one Greg. It came out looking super! Cheers Bob 👍

Nice work Greg
Fantastic building skills.
Beautiful job. Lightyears ahead of the Airfix offering from the 60's.
Great job! Love your build!
Very professionnel job
Thanks for the video

A bit of a modern kit for me..but very interesting all the same. Lovely job on kit and vidio. 👍👍👍👍
Thanks 👍
10:18 very good technic for masking your cutting board before painting it
Excellent build, and I love your comment "modelling is supposed to be fun, I wonder what fishing is like", brilliant. Great video sir!
Fantastic Greg
Beautiful Hurky Bird 👍😍
Beuatiful work.

Nice work Greg as always, I really like the red webbing done for inside the windows that’s a really nice touch. A job really well done my friend 👍
Great job as always, really enjoy your videos.....I was a tad disappointed though that you didnt leave everything open as the internals could have been wonderfully detailed by yourself. Perhaps even incorporate the model into a diorama?

The kids through one of your builds out the window, did it fly or drop like a rock? Great video, she's beautiful! Keep up the great work!
A nice arc into the ground.
great build!

Go for it David! I wouldn't mind having ago at one of the 1/48 Italeri kits to build the early RAF Hurc 👍
Very nice Herc Greg!
Nice build! Zvezda always go a long way to making a brilliant kit, but the modeller is always left with some work to do
Lovely stuff!
Mighty fine result 👍
I got there in the end😂

@@GregsModels 1/32nd T4 would be excellent!
Amazing work. Great to see Zvezda get a bit of love too! Their recent offerings are amazing especially the YAK-9 and SU-25.
Couldn't agree more!

Cracking build Greg. By the way, fishing is a smelly hobby with lots of slime.
Thanks for the heads up😂
