I personally think “Port Khazard” on RUclips is even better than Woox by a long shot at PVM. If you haven’t seen him on RUclips (which I can tell by his subscribers most of you haven’t) you need to it’s insane. He’s done lvl 3 firecape (only person to after they patched Rendi and Xact’s method they used) Killed Zuk from inferno without ever attacking it (absolutely insane - only person to ever do it) Killed 6 jad challenge with 1 prayer point, 1 hitpoint, and only using 1 ITEM. (Never seen anyone else come close to this) All videos on his channel too.
I've been playing runescape since the beginning, and I've never been a PvMer, skiller, I just strictly play for PvP. i was so hyped when DMM came out, it felt like osrs was going into a "semi-esport" realm, and it was awesome... With that being said, I was so disappointed when Woox didn't officially win lol.. He won fair and square, if he would have done some insane bug, I could understand, but he was simply using a mechanic that has been in OSRS for a while now..
The Woox V Jad with 1 prayer and no items, along with the Pernix Body solo was legendary to me and my brother. We were both pretty new to the game and it was awesome to see Woox pull off insane feats, and still to this day! Woox being the first to complete the Chambers of Xeric on the Twisted League (I believe) was one I personally witnessed. The man is a legend and it's amazing to see how involved and passionate he is for the game and community.
Okay, but Mod Ash coming through with 10k of his own money to award to Woox is the hero we needed. Mod Ash is truly a treasure. Also, love that Woox has been popping off since 2008!
woox is a childhood hero I got to witness him get the first ever infernal cape live and it felt surreal im pretty sure he crashed some of the worlds he hopped to because of the instant 2k people trying to get on his world, he was walking around varrock square and I felt like I was at the falador massacre with people just spamming and insane lag
Crazy that you didn't even get to his dominance in King of the Skill or how we have the phrase "Woox didn't do the inferno with no supplies for you to die with brews in your inventory."
I'm just a huge runescape fan even though I stopped playing ages ago... I still get extremely excited when I see a KempQ video! Keep up the great work!!
That corp clip brings back memories. I miss my 2009 to 2012 rs. The irony is 2007 is adding a bunch of content from that era that mimics what we had then.
What makes Woox the greatest is that he "breaks" the game with sheer knowledge and skill, not glitches and bugs as most "breakers" tend to do with other games.
I played RS as like... a LITTLE kid. Came back like 5 years ago to RS3. I missed the reign of Woox, but his mythos is TRULY legendary and he is still mentioned often in the conversation of gamechanging pvmers.
I was a player that mainly stuck with rs3 and woox's solo kalphite king kill was truly something special at the time of 2014. 10 years later and that boss is still hard to solo to this day because of it's green mechanic and accuracy debuffs during off style phases
Great video. Who doesn't love Woox? I remember the first video i saw and I just thought "who is this guy??" Little did we know a legend was in the making.
6:04 Born for PvM was another well known pvmer back then. Gained popularity for corp/nex videos and being part of the Godsword Set from Scratch series. Passed away recently from street racing
The amount we know about games now is mind blowing. All the digging into codes, figuring out patterns, learning to abuse in game mechanics, etc. It's so different than how we "broke" the games as kids.
Crazy how Woox's claim to fame was that he was the first one to think of lowering Corp's stats before fighting him lmao, back then everyone just assumed his stats reset with his HP when you left, but it didn't really become public knowledge until early OSRS, I was in a smaller clan with some friends back then and we were some of the first people to figure out how he actually soloed Corp, we figured he was spamming SWH specs before the fight, he was on Lunars so he could check Corp's stats if he wanted to, and he went through several hammers during his solo grinds, something that would be hard to do if you're only hitting the 3-4 specs per fight, we figured he's going through far more than that per kc. We were soloing Corp not long after him, but he is indeed the guy that made it famous. The thing that really cemented him as a PvM legend was soloing Nex. Even to this day in OSRS that's almost impossible to do, only Port Khazard has done it and that was with a red x stall that got patched. In Nex's current state she has not been soloed yet which is insane.
These types of games are what we need more of. It's difficult, insanely difficult to break the game and become OP, but, it's possible, though very few do it or try it because it's actual work, but notice you have the freedom to do it. Nowadays companies control too much of how they want players to play, the programming, the balance, it becomes stale quick. "Oh we don't want players to use this, do this or that here, let's just heavily script it" instead of "we need a plan for if X happens or players use this, that, etc"
At 6:05 You're telling that a player stated that woox was born for pvm, but actually the forum message is "Woox16, and born for pvm, please don't leave us!" born for Pvm being another runescape content creator from the time that used to make videos with Runeshark.
It was crazy when he first beat Corp. But when he did it with all those insane challenges. Ppl struggling to beat a boss and he does it without food lol. He's done so much cool stuff in the game
Kemp, at 6:04, you misinterpreted that comment. "Born for PVM" is the username of Mod Kieren's old RS2 account. I remember watching Kieren play alongside RuneShark leading up to EoC (to my knowledge, both Simon and James of RuneShark and Kieran quit when EoC came out). Kieren was also the one who conducted the interview.
Born For PvM was not Kieran. Kieran was FairytaleRS. Born was another friend of the RuneShark channel. He was on several Runeshark series and he eventually quit RS for League. And I just found out today that he died 8 months ago from a motorcycle accident.
Fair play to Mod Ash for giving $10k and going against Jagex. If only he was able to run the company (and dev), the company and game would be in such a better position as he understands the player base and what we want better than most.
I remember when I first got into RuneScape, and I only heard stories of how scary hard corporeal beast was. So I did a quick RUclips search and saw woox soloing him. I was shocked.
I always love the “players quit” graph osrs players love to show. That was all the bots that couldn’t cope to eoc on release. Look how the numbers climbed right back up.
I still think Woox displaying absolute dominion over the Dominion Tower back in the day, by "beating" it with an inventory of cabbages, is still the most impressive feat in my opinion. Sure, it's technically easier than Inferno, but the video also had a killer soundtrack.
I think the RS dev team should do what the dev team of World of Warcraft (Blizzard) does when a player has done something unique: create a personal Woox NPC with a custom emote and phrase when you talk to the NPC.
Mod Ash seems to be one of the few people that works for Jagex that actually understands Runescape and internet culture. He should start his own company.
6:04 Audio was wrong, he stated, woox and born for Pvm, Born For PvM was famous content creator back in the day that also quit, he was the guy who interviewed woox.
KempQ, you forgot that Woox won the King Of The Skill event that Jagex put on. He had the highest total level by a large margin! I know the video was PvM focused, but you can’t forget he’s a King amongst skillers too!
Don't forget, Woox won the 24H total level challenge by a staggering 60 total levels over B0aty who was super confident that he had it in the bag. So to recap Won a PVP tournament Won a skilling tournament. Won a PVM challenge before anyone else. This man has completed the trifecta of Runescape - likely the only one who ever will.
I remember back in the day when Zezima was the king of Runescape. I loved this game, and only stopped playing because I was hacked and they somehow managed to get like 44 out of 11 black marks to get permanetly banned.

Absolutely LEGENDARY! I still revere this an as a gaming god and probably always will, much deserved documentary imo. Someone should make a longer one and breakdown every achievement(how he did it/why it was thought impossible at the time).
Maybe one of the best known and most liked PVMers, have known a lot of crazy good PVMers, pkers, encyclopedias etc who didn't care to be known or seen. It's honestly pretty crazy how broad the spectrum of RS players is as far as professions and types of people goes from political to social statuses etc. He was/is crazy good at what he does though and got a huge following from it, I'm sure there'll be other figures like him ppl will gawk over in the future as well lol.
I know it’s been said and I know the confrontation behind it but I’m sad you didn’t bring up the vorkath method. Mainly because I played this game in 2008 F2P and stopped shortly after and picked it back up on day a few years ago on a fresh account and after all the trial and error of playing the game without guides except for vorkath, Zulrah, and Corp I finally got “the walk” achievement and I’d love to learn more about his accomplishments
