Update: Someone asked if the host HAS to have a controller. the answer is no. If only your friend has one and they connect it while you both are using Parsec, it counts as having a "Gamepad" even if it isn't directly plugged into your computer. (Remember to give your friend rights on parsec to gamepad. and when they plug their controller in, make them press a few buttons to wake the controller up)
The second update. I have a problem. Parsecs just can't see my friends' gamepads now. I asked another friend to check if the parsec would see his gamepad. No
Nope, the screen will always be together. You kinda have to stay together in one place. If you're interested in seeing how it works you can see my recent playthrough with a friend
I looked it up, and I'm unsure if it'll help, but some say to go into parsec settings, go to host, scroll down to "echo canceling" and turn it off. Or just your audio settings to see if its on your computers output. (As a warning) they might here double of you on it if you play through discord so they might want to mute you when the audios working again. (I hope this helps)
Thank you it didnt work at first with the echo cancelling but i still turned it off and found out we can hear if they plugged some headphones with wires into their computer @Mr_Sane
I'm sorry for asking such a question. Maybe its stupid. But if you play like this, then... Should both the host and the second player have a gamepad? I just don't understand a bit how a goat can walk then.
I actually tested it out yesterday. So! Both you and the other player can have a gamepad :) and it'll work. Just make sure you and your friend has it plugged in and connected. And when you go to connect with them let your friend press a button on their controller, it should wake it up and connect it to your computer. From there you can choose which character to play as before you start! I hope this helps. If you have anymore questions let me know I'd like to help 😀
@@Mr_Sane I'm sorry, but no. That still didn't answer my question. To paraphrase. I am the host of the world and I play with the keyboard. A friend has a gamepad. To add a goat, do I also need to have a gamepad, so that the button for requiring two controllers disappears?
Oh interesting 🤔 alright. So, you don't need 2 controllers from what I seen. You CAN use two, but if you have the mouse and keyboard, you should be able to play fine as either character. (I think only one of you can be the lamb and goat) but your friend with the controller needs to move their control stick to choose which one. That should let them control the character/goat. Though just curious, if that doesn't help, what issue is prohibiting you from playing? Like does it say "add gamepad for co-op" or did you also plug in a controller so that there's a keyboard and two controllers in the co-op menu? Because even if there is that isn't an issue just choose whichever ones you want to play with and start. So sorry if I'm not understanding correctly! But I'd like to help. If you give me like a whole step by step of your issue maybe I can understand
@@Mr_Sane So... I'm trying to explain in more detail. I have a computer. I'm launching the world and I want a friend to join ME. Not the other way around. Then, most likely, in order to remove the "connect the second controller" button, I will ALSO need to have a gamepad
Sorry if the question is dumb, but can two PC players play together without a controller if me and my friend are in the same room? Me and my roommate wanna buy this game but we're both PC only :0
Unfortunately not. It's good to be in the same room but you need a controller to differentiate who's playing. I suggest finding a cheap controller to use
Oh darn, sorry to hear! I hope they add that next update. I'm not sure if it would work, but perhaps in settings you can set your Playstation controller buttons as your controls? I've never tried it before but perhaps that could work?
Start the game? like.. opening the game? 😅 or opening a co-op session? Because for Co-op, all you need to do is get your friend into a Parsec to whichever computer will be the host. Join a regular game, plug in a controller (Xbox works great. And it can he either you or your friend. Or both) then go to the escape screen, and click the co-op button. From their each person chooses their lamb or goat then begin, both of you should be summoned there to play. Hope this helps? If not, don't be afraid to explain your problem further 😄
Alright, well, usually when that happens you should be able to press any button on your keyboard or controller and it should bring you to the main menu. From there you click play, and create a new world. Is the game not letting you go further than "click any button to begin"? It should let you go to the main screen

I managed to find out before your answer, but thanks for the comment. It will save others. I've already played with a friend. It's awesome)
AWESOME! I'm so glad! Have fun playing! 😁
@@Mr_Sane Updating information. Let's go on playing. The parsec sent my friend's gamepad to hell, having stopped seeing it
We rebooted computers, he turned off his gamepad, reinstalled the parsec. It doesn't see it, that's all

is this method a thing due to steam's play together thing being like doodoo?
Yep 😅

Aw jeese :( I'm sorry its laggy. But I hope you guys can play none the less! Best luck to you!
does my friend has to have a good notebook/pc? or just me? lmao
Honestly not sure, I assume if you have a good pc and you are hosting the game, you both just need good wifi connection and it should work. Hopefully
bro what if i dont have a controller????????????
Unfortunately from how the devs made the game you can't play unless you or your friend have a controller. Sorry man
@@Mr_Sane Me and my friend can play with controllers or just 1 controller and 1 keybord only?
Either works. You can play with two controllers, or one controller and one keyboard and mouse
