4:44 Anoushka being a maestro herself, she tries to put in her own verse after she understands where her father is trying to go. And thus plays a quick melody but Pandit Ravi Shankhar being a genius has another tune in mind and orates that tune which when Anoushka listens, she marvels over his genius and a small "oh of course this tune is better" expression in her face and the nod. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I will say it a gazzilionth time, India is home to the most advanced and beautiful divine music. There is simply no competition. Indian music is timeless, boundless and the magic hits right into your soul.
MORE THAN THE DEEP INNER CONNECTION BETWEEN FATHER AND DAUGHTER IN FORMING THOSE MIGHTY PHRASINGS IS THEIR LANGUAGE IN BOTH EYES.....first time I watched these my EYES filled with tears and my heart and tongue got the sweet taste of real love ........ this part is now eternal and legendary since Ravi dies.........
A brilliant father with a wonderfully talented daughter to carry on in his spirit. He must have died a happy man. This music just sweeps all negative emotions out of the soul, and enlivens the freed spirit. I am deeply grateful to them.
🌸You are a goddess, Anoush🌸🦋🐬Probably wasn’t always easy to have your beloved father as your music teacher. I listen 2u both durning my kundalini yoga classes, thank u🦋🐬🌸
6 years ago Pandit Ravi Shankar Chatterjee & now Pandit Debu Chaudhuriji- 2 of the greatest sitar Maestros of the early Doordarshan era lost by India.........a huge blow to our music industry.Such gem of musicians will never be replicated.
I'm just starting to learn Sitar.Hearing this helped me figure out small things I was having troubles with! I have YEARS before I will be able to play half as good as what Anoushka does here! She's very blessed to have had the conection she did with her father, Ravi, who I personally rank as one of the greatest musicians ever! His music will live on past time it's self!
amazing ,perfect harmony beetween her and his eyes so lovely that moment ,this music is enchantment,i ll never stop listening ,beautyfull is no Word, greatest moment
The music of Faso is an inexhaustible source of sweetness. It allows us to plunge deep inside ourselves and at the same time resonate with our fellow man, Yé Lassina Coulibaly
Pt ravi shankar and his 2 3 wife annapurna devi shankar, sukanya devi shankar and sue jones devi shankar is my granddaddy and grandma's I'm anoushka Shankar's nephew
note, apparently she didnt get the correct sound once, he corrects her. but i didnt hear any misstake. imagine on what level of knowledge he was!!!! insane!
As if Anoushka Shankar needs lessons as she is a Pandit in her own right. As a simulation of a master/pupil scenario, though, it's maorvellously instructive; it shows what a terrific 'ear' she has and how the corpus of Indian music is - like the Anglo Saxon literary tradition - totally oral. What musicians they both are!!!
If you're learning Sitar, yes, you would need lessons. She didn't learn to play overnight. And her first guru was her Father. No matter how well she plays in the future(she has fully blossomed now), to her, her father will always be miles better.
Music is God and God is the ultimate truth for you are wandering around.. let the kids understand the music, but not impose.. they will lead a good life towards God. I don't know his (it's) name ,may be Krishna of Shiva or something else, but God is beyond your thoughts and if you can't find him/her/it inside u, then you can't find god anywhere .. try if u can
Hello ! I love this ... and I am trying to figure out which raag this is ... but I am not able to do it . Can any sitar player tell the raag name of this ...

Her 'ear' is amazing...truly her father's daughter and worthy successor!
No western music or any modern day music can match the profoundness of Indian classical music.. What a gift to humanity!
Exactly
Quite boring to be honest. Makes us want to sleep. Western symphonies are timeless, while Indian sounds will be as garbage lost in the Ganges...
Why is comparison needed everytime
Cry some more, 😭🤣@@RemoBongo530

Could you recommend your top 10 musical pieces from India please?
It sounds as if he was giving out to her about something and she was turning his complaints into soul stirring music:) magnificent!
He is giving her instructions and she is playing exactly the same
Its beacuse he's too old to properly hit all his vocal microtones hahaha Easy misunderstanding though lol
This is how Indian music lessons are taught. This is common in india
