343 Industries recently released Halo Combat Evolved Anniversary to the PC as part of the Master Chief Collection. It's been fully optimized for PC. We hope you enjoy!
The game begins as Pillar of Autumn exits slipspace and its crew discovers a large ringworld structure of unknown origin. The Covenant pursues Autumn and attacks. With the ship heavily damaged, Autumn's captain, Jacob Keyes, entrusts the ship's artificial intelligence (AI) known as Cortana to Master Chief in order to prevent the Covenant from discovering the location of Earth. Keyes orders the crew to abandon ship and pilots Autumn to a crash-landing on the ringworld.
On the ring's surface, Master Chief and Cortana rescue other survivors and help organize a counter-offensive. Learning that Keyes has been captured by the Covenant, Master Chief and a small contingent of soldiers rescue him from the Covenant cruiser Truth and Reconciliation. Keyes reveals that the Covenant call the ringworld "Halo" and that they believe it to be a weapon. Intent on stopping the Covenant from using Halo, Keyes searches for a potential weapons cache, while Master Chief and Cortana mount an assault on the ringworld's control room. Cortana enters Halo's computer systems; what she learns has her immediately send Master Chief to find and stop Keyes from continuing his search.

Did they update e the 30fps animations yet? Did they fix the HCEA classic graphics yet or are they still using the broken gearbox port?
This is awesome! But why is there no “Director‘s cut“ for this or halo five? Is that something you guys have planned? What about doing it for infinite?
My big brother taught me how to play video games when I was 3 and when I was around 4 or 5 years old he tried to teach me how to play Halo right when it came out. I don’t remember how it started for me clearly but I remember being so confused and excited all at once

This one definitely sounds better. I did think that the dialogue was buried too deep in the audio mix for the version of Anniversary I had for Xbox 360. Can actually hear the dialogue now!

For gameplay, it would be beautiful. However if they don't fully remaster the cinematics to have a *native playback of 60fps,* it will fall into uncanny territory. It's the reasons I have a minor issue with the Halo 3 and 4 cutscenes on the MCC. If they'd let them have there native playback frame rate, it would have looked beautiful with the HD

@@TheSaladKing I played MCC at about that time, but unfortunately I could not find a compilation of the cutscenes in the OG graphics. I did not like playing CE with the new graphics.
@@Mrcryptidsarereal that's the exact problem I'm having right now, just trying to find the CE cutscenes but there's only the anniversary version which is just painful to look at, and also the gameplay is hilariously bad. I'm shocked that there's not an og graphics compilation with decent gameplay on RUclips. Idek how that's possible.
@@TheSaladKing More obscure games have more thorough cutscene compilations than Halo 1. The fans have failed.

Cortana carries this game's story so hard. Without her this game would be so empty, sorta like Halo 3.
The library is the hardest mission in Halo CE
Pretty much yeah. It's mostly because the flood are SO numerous and clingy that you never really have a safe moment. Which means that the game doesn't have many chances to establish a checkpoint.
You have to be REALLY thorough and quick to buy yourself the time and space needed for the game to go "oh, you're safe! I'll make a checkpoint for you then". Which means you're likely going to be repeating long stretches of that mission quite often. XD

I'm so sorry you didn't get to experience it on Xbox. Normally PC Master race blah blah blah, I know, but Halo CE on PC was actually a buggy port of the original. To the point even the graphics didn't really work properly.

if this was the first game for halo why does it pick up literarily seconds after reach how was the game order/story decided was it based of something or were they just making it as they went
If I remember right Halo launched with a book that ended up being finished before the game was. The Destruction of Reach was always a thing, but Bungie when they made their last Halo game decided to go and show the Fall of Reach as a "We're ending where we started everything." Story.

For a game that's from 2001 these graphics are great.
I'm not sure if that was sarcasm or not, but this is the anniversary edition. The graphics on this one have been updated several times. The original game had good graphics for the time, but they were quite a bit worse than this.

The Covenant fleet followed through the rupture in Slip Space. Covenant ships can move faster through Slip Space than UNSC Ships can, so they were able to get out of slip space before the Pillar of Autumn could.
What difficulty is this?

That...is really like Halo Infinity
There are theory that Human are forerunners and watching it again I now can see the Halo ring world looking very similar to what we have on Earth.
It's not a current theory. It was an idea Bungie was playing around with in the 00s and dropped by 2007. Anyone saying it's still a possibility is holding on to something that's been out of date for over 16 years
After trying Halo CE, I really needed this. I was not there at the time so everything in looks bad and generic to me now.
Should've used original cutscenes and MCC gameplay, the new cutscenes look and sound like ass compared to the originals

There are only two things I would've asked Bungie to fix about this game:
1. Fuck the Library level that whole level is unnecessary
2. More blood and more enemy begging as I kill them
