Halo 2 Anniversary has now been added to the Master Chief Collection on PC! It looks amazing, as expected. We've done this game many times, but well, true 4K 60 frames per second on PC is hard to pass up. As always, we used relevant gameplay, important dialogue and all cutscenes to stitch together a fluid cinematic experience. We hope you enjoy!
Halo 2 opens with the trial of a Covenant Elite commander aboard the Covenant's mobile capital city of High Charity. For his failure to stop Halo's destruction, the Elite is stripped of his rank, branded a heretic, and tortured by Tartarus, the Chieftain of the Covenant Brutes. Spared execution, the Covenant leadership-the High Prophets Truth, Regret, and Mercy-give the Elite the chance to become an Arbiter, a rank only bestowed upon Elites in times of crisis. As the Arbiter, the Elite quells a rebellion and recovers 343 Guilty Spark...

You’ve done it again, make the high definition of a great game better. I only wish this halo had the classic assault rifle from the other games.
Also when you get time can you make a video of the King Kong video game please🙏🙏, try the ps version of it, it’s graphics are way better than the Xbox 360, also it has extra cutscenes that make the level transitions so much better.

Brief summary. After the events of the first Halo, Johnson met up with Cortana and Master chief on the longsword they escaped from the Pillar of Autumn. Seeing Pvt. Jenkin's video cam footage, Chief drew Johnson's pistol and pointed it at his head. Johnson held no objection, but stated that he was fine and wasn't infected. It was a very tense situation, until Cortana intervened and convinced chief that he was still human. They later made contact with Dr. Halsey, she and Chief were looking at Sgt. Johnson's medical files. It was said that he did carry flood dna in his blood, but was dormant and non-infectious. Halsey also confirmed that Johnson had gained some unique regenerative abilities during their first contact with the infection forms. Halsey prepared two separated documents so that ONI could review, Halsey gave Chief the decision to make. That's why Johnson says that it's classified.

Halsey was aware of flood after chief encounter, she didn’t know how much chief force lost at the halo for him to be very serious about his deletion of said data after learning no one could survive them

This game is a true masterpiece, visual design, sound design, narratives...it's perfect. This game will be my favourite game of all time.

@Joshua Payne No, he is actually somewhat right. That's why halo 2 ended on the cliff hanger it did. Which mind you, a lot of people complained about halo 2 at first because of a lot of things other than that, the covenant speaking English being another example. Luckily, it aged like whine.

This has always been my favourite of the Halo games, and I never understood why people didn't like it as much as others. Yes the first one has the great twist with the flood and the immense terror behind their reveal. But Halo 2 opened up the Halo universe, it breathed life and character into the covenant, as well as the flood. The game itself was such a pleasure to play too, from boarding a vehicle for the first time, and dual wielding to exploring some gorgeous settings. It remains the longest of all the Halo games too with more missions than any other, and I can't honestly recall a single one where I grew bored. It was thrilling from start to finish. Near as I can tell, peoples main complaint about it was playing occasionally as the Arbiter rather than the Masterchief the whole time, but I loved being able to play as one of the sanghelli and seeing it all from another perspective. Narratively this was the strongest of the Halo's, it was well paced, and made it more than being about shooting generic evil aliens. It developed this series so much, incorporating all the lore from the books into it. This is the best Halo game in my opinion, and the one I played by far the most.

The rendering times would be ungodly.
They tried, but there were creative differences between the Creative Executives and the Producers, killed the project in the end. There is a pretty good trailer if you look up Halo Live Action.
Halo live series .. sucks.. the person put fan fiction then follow the lore... its just plan horrendous... if only it could be more like this cutscenes... just pure perfection . .

I really like how the cutscenes show the technological difference between the covenant and the unsc in terms of starship engine sounds
1:48 the covenant starships engine sound vary smooth and sleek whilst in 4:09 the unsc ship sound rough and heavy

I would say it's the "give the Covenant back their bomb" scene.
But the grave mind scene is excellent as well, and a great primer on just how dangerous the Halo Array really is

Seeing that energy projector just instantly rip what I'm assuming is a halcyon class cruiser apart in the bomb cutscene just shows how horrifyingly outgunned the UNSC was in Naval Engagements.

These cutscenes clear the uncanny valley better than a lot of things we see nowadays, which is extra impressive given its age now. I’m perpetually blown away by what the team did with this remaster.

One day I hope halo 2’s story is adapted to a cinematic format. The story is nailed like a split hog. Same goes for CE but man, halo 2 is such a well-rounded story.

I've always thought the Heirarchs were stupid; they could've told the Arbiter that they felt things were gonna start to get hairy, so replaced the Elite with the Brutes so the Brute would take the brunt of the losses...
That still wouldn’t have passed with the Elites, when the Covenant was formed the Sangheili and San Shyuum were equal partners of their Alliance. The San Shyuum were in charge of science and religion while the Sangheili were in charge of Military and resource management. So what the Prophets are doing are in contradiction to their long held agreements. Also the Covenant is a thousand year old faction while the Brutes have only been around 30 years before the war with Humanity, so stripping power from the Elites and giving to the Brutes was nothing short of an insult and suspicious.

Never played a halo game before.. but is it normal for the player to move like he's on ice skates? There's zero head bobbing when you move, it's like you're on wheels / skates or something, not legs.
it's a carry over from the original, there's some legacy things that can't b replaced in halo

You haven't played an fps in the past 12+ years then. 95% or more of fps games use some degree of "camera bob".. go look at ANY shooter released in the past 10 years on youtube, they use camera bob to simulate the up and down movement of actual legs. COD, overwatch, medal of honor, Doom (the 90's versions and the two modern ones). What in the hell are you talking about? Halo 2 is the only FPS I've seen that doesn't have camera bob... jesus christ HALO 1 HAS IT, I just played it on PC with game pass and it has camera bob.. but Halo 2 doesn't. Stop making up nonsense.
@@Hathur Bro, Halo 2 is nearly 17 years old..... The anniversary graphics are simply a fresh coat of paint on top of the original game engine.... Bungie had to cut many things to release the game on time too, so that could be why it's missing when Halo CE has it.
@@Hathur Halo CE doesn't have the "Camera Bob" either, the weapon moves from side to side (The assault rifle in particular) to illustrate the fact that master chief is moving and while still the weapon moves up and down to represent breathing. But that side to side movement of the weapon wouldn't make any sense since that would mean your aim is all over the place (not that it would matter much with the AR since it has so much spread). Halo 2 is actually a bit better in this regard since you would take shorter more "stable" steps to account for the movement of the gun while walking to keep a consistent aims at all times, but there is still a bit of shake in the gun, which is represented. Although your point is true that camera bob is absent, not every game needs that. Also Halo 2 and Halo combat evolved were meant to be played on consoles and so the camera movement was a bit more stabilized since aiming with the joystick wasn't really mainstream or popular at the time so it would prove difficult to aim with all that camera bob while using the joystick, especially with the duke controller. (btw, I think I'm missing out on some context here regarding @Mr.Tweezy007, what happened?)
