Two years ago at my hometown gym, a police officer used to come in regularly. One day, a boy from the gym played an English song on a speaker. The officer reacted angrily, asking the boy why he was playing an English song and if he was Christian. He then forced the boy to change the song. Right , previously in 2014-16 [as far I remember] he was in IPS , & posted as a SDPO tehatta , he shot & killed 2 -3 villagers in a normal protest situation , Then we come to know He was a physcho , After he clear upsc once more & became ias & this agartala situation 😅 proved he is a mentally disturbed 😧
I was physically abused by an SHO, i registered a complaint with NHRC , they informed me to have taken appropriate action against him, but God knows what appropriate action is. People in this country should have basic legal knowledge in order to prevent atrocity on them
You are doing amazing job Naman. In TV interviews mostly IAS officers from village says "In my childhood I decided to be the King of the district". This statement it self shows they are mentally sick after getting educated.
That's why ethics matters. People like him holding such high positions in an extreme danger to society. Government should make rules for such unsound minds 👍
See other countries how tough their psychological testing is for civil servants. Around 50% of our civil servants will fail other countries standards. judging by their behavior from videos. We don't do anything close to that level. We need to check that they have good education history and extracurricular history from 10th standard class itself. This will show consistency in performance for long periods. Also, we need more intensive psychometric and situational testing to evaluate emotional intelligence. Just one rote learning UPSC exam and interview is not enough to determine people's moral behavior. I know few people selected for UPSC who never demonstrated ethics, morality, emotional intelligence in their personal lives but they have who have lots of free time and money to waste preparing for exam and interview.
The worst thing is HE IS STILL IN THE SERVICE AND WORK AS A COMMISSIONER, its a SHAME, if this would have happened in USA, UK , this man would have termintaed then and there with certain punishmnt and a public applogy.
I have been recently introduced to this UPSC, and from a corner of my mind, I find the UPSC to be a pathetic exam to judge the caliber of a person's civility. It is more like a test where you learn to lie better, and not to forget, the interview is the conversation between the two liars. Not sure about whether I should indulge in this or not?
Hey, don’t let some bad apples discourage you. As Naman sir always say, we need better people in good positions. By getting offended and annoyed by a bad system and trying to not become a part of it we are committing a fallacy. Let’s become those better people in good position and set an example of courage, honesty, compassion and intelligence.
The biggest irony is that these power hungry officers during their UPSC written examination will wirte long paragraphs on "Dowry Abolition" and will give viewpoints about society's misconception but during their own wedding they will not step back to demand dowry not less than 1 crore rupees
In Chhattisgarh also , new direct IAS officers for some reason are very Rude. They don't even think twice before swearing Infront of staff members who are of the age of their own father , (disrespecting mothers and sisters by saying such words in meeting as reprimand). UPSC & LBSNAA really needs to rethink who they are choosing. Because eventually common people suffer. Barring a handful of good officers they are no more messiahs of common folks but rather power hungry, brash & corrupt people willing to fill their own pockets and massage their own egos in their echo chambers.

I’m in Central Government job in heart of Delhi and I have not seen corruption happening first-hand but the amount of ill such officers/bureaucrats spread and create issues for us low rank people is unimaginable. I have also worked in corporate sector for 12 years and therefore I can easily say that UPSC is selecting the worst lot of people. They are corrupt no doubt, they are ill mannered that is also true, but they are inefficient. Even a simple secretary in a MNC can do a better efficient job than these nil-experienced fresher graduates that are hired by UPSC. To become a IAS/IPS, there should be mandatory prerequisite of 3-5 years of work experience. This over smart kids need to be humbled first.
Updated info: 1. This was actually a political vendetta, as the venue was owned by an opposition leader, the maharaja of Tripura. Recently he joined BJP. 2. Nothing happened to Sailesh yadav..he is still in Tripura as Commissioner of Agartala Municipal Corporation. 3. Tripura people are very gentle and peaceful. So he still roams the road of Tripura with pride. I wonder what would've happened if he did the same in UP, haryana or Punjab.
Nothing would have happened in Punjab or Haryana. Read about the case of Ruchi Girhotra in 1990s Ruchi was sexually assaulted by an IPS, her under age brother was beaten up and tortured. She committed suicide because of constant harrasment and nothing happened to the IPS officer. His family was protected by all the Political Parties. One more case from Haryana is Geetika Sharma, she was assaulted similarly by a Politician and her family members also committed suicide. There are many other cases from Punjab, Haryana etc ...

There should be strict actions of a package like demotions, penalising salaries, withholding promotions and being under watchlist for dismissal upon repetition of such acts, if upsc just brought ethics paper to increase syllabus they have done a good job of opening doors to the ratta mars type of doglas as shown in this going by this trend they will add one or more subjects and might as well make the mains and prelims exam a 2 month long duration of tests until either the aspirants qualify or simply fall dead due to exhaustion, not talking just as a frustrated aspirant but a citizen who lives ironically under the boot of the civil servant
Thanks Naman for covering this topic. I got married at same time and this act by Shailesh Kumar Yadav disturbed my entire family from another part of India. If that would have been the case we would not have officers like him and honestly trust me he is not just one civil servant. I have maybe seen one or two who were actually fit for the job.
Can IAS directly order or arrest any other civil servant(like IRS, IAAS, IDES, IFoS,ICLS) I have this biggest querry, answer if anyone knows about this
There are two ruling classes in India- 1 - Politicians 2 - Civil "servants" Both enjoy absolute power and are absolutely corrupted as well. This is why everyone wants to become one of them. This colonial system can be only eradicated by a complete rehauling of the overall system, which will NEVER happen because they go hand in hand. You will never see a civil "servant" misbehaving with a politician of the sitting government. So, either learn to bear this oppressive system or leave the country for your own good.
You are really doing an incredible job, this is actually what is needed to make a better country. I will request you to make head offices in pan India to practically help people in need. Of course, you can charge for services and people will never hesitate. This can make people and the country stronger as your intentions are pure. Now I think I should get into Law or Journalism so I too can help to make India the best place.
80% aspirants target UPSC and clear this exam just for the power.. and obviously the money they get from under the table... Unfortunately.. Out of the 20% left, some become like the 80% corrupt officer and the ones who stay true to the service are given transfer pe transfer and not the praise they deserve for serving the people without wanting to become famous.... 😢
I am not sure what panel member judged during UPSC interview, "baithne ka tareeka casual hai" "aaj breakfast me ky khaya" etc. etc. are these questions enough to tell that the aspirant will be a humble civil servant? Those who interviewed this sailesh during interview round are also responsible for releasing these uncivil servants in the society.
The Panel members are not looking for Honest Officers... they're looking for like minded Babus who would serve the system the same way Panelists have done it.
It is disheartening to see an IAS officer misuse his power to torment poor people. Those in positions of authority should serve and protect the vulnerable, not exploit them.

Right , previously in 2014-16 [as far I remember] he was in IPS , & posted as a SDPO tehatta , he shot & killed 2 -3 villagers in a normal protest situation ,
Then we come to know He was a physcho ,
After he clear upsc once more & became ias & this agartala situation 😅 proved he is a mentally disturbed 😧
probably it can be if we will treat these officers like kings ! treat them normal you will see they will behave same normal !

No even there it is not possible unless proove it. There is even more worst union is there and will stop working
Aha where did u gained this
That Fiasco was a political stunt. We have all been fooled. We simply didn't know what was actually happening
Yes that is democracy
I have been recently introduced to this UPSC, and from a corner of my mind, I find the UPSC to be a pathetic exam to judge the caliber of a person's civility. It is more like a test where you learn to lie better, and not to forget, the interview is the conversation between the two liars. Not sure about whether I should indulge in this or not?
If you serve the country in another way then do that.

We are humans ...very intelligent animal....we can reveal 60 types of characters in 60 seconds for any goal
Put them on contracts based on performance, two year contracts, watch them become polite

This is getting out of hands.
Government should look into it more seriously.

Do you guys actually think the selection process for these high ranking officers, the UPSC exam actually judges a candidate on Empathy, respect, understanding , humility and humanity ? If that would have been the case we would not have officers like him and honestly trust me he is not just one civil servant. I have maybe seen one or two who were actually fit for the job.
If UPSC did judge a person's empathy, respect and mental health, I'm pretty sure almost all of the candidates would fail immediately.
Can IAS directly order or arrest any other civil servant(like IRS, IAAS, IDES, IFoS,ICLS)
I have this biggest querry, answer if anyone knows about this
There are two ruling classes in India-
1 - Politicians
2 - Civil "servants"
Both enjoy absolute power and are absolutely corrupted as well.
Absolutely Naman sir....Galat k against bolna imp hai... Neighborhood me b apko caste discrimination karne wale log mil jate hai
You are really doing an incredible job, this is actually what is needed to make a better country.

I am not sure what panel member judged during UPSC interview, "baithne ka tareeka casual hai" "aaj breakfast me ky khaya" etc. etc. are these questions enough to tell that the aspirant will be a humble civil servant?
