    The Panasonic being thicker is not a downside, it's an advantage. The bulkier the chassis, the better it is at absorbing heat from the panel (this is a generalisation). This is benificial for all electronics but in particular for OLED's; whose inevitable degradation is accelerated by heat.

      That’ll never happen not in 1 billion years. Every TV should have a thing though you’re 100% correct. I think it’s a tough cell for people people want cheap TVs, right? Our community is an outlier. Most people are not buying an LG G4 or other top-tier model they’re buying the mid model that’s how marketing works. Show people a low price one high price one and a mid price one and they buy the mid price one. That’s marketing 101.

    I have a LG G4 77 inch in a normal bright living room and the brightness setting is set between 20-50, maybe 60 in rare sunny conditions. Set it above that and your eyes burn out. The brightness war in OLED has become nonsense. Let's focus in picture quality instead.
    Downside I find of the LG G4 is that the settings menu is slow, way too large buttons. The whole WebOS seems to consist of disjointed screen designs. Sony has this covered much more nicely in their TV's (had an AG9 before). Too bad Sony OLEDs are ridiculously expensive in the Netherlands, so I went for G4 and accepted some compromises.

      I don't have a high end tv, I got the TCL q650, and I think would benefit for a slightly faster cpu.

      @bobzuidhoek9785 Месяц назад +1

      @@pedroarquitectura No the G4 is far superior to C4 regarding screen and processing.
      I've got a problem with how somehow LG manages to make a premium TV feel cheap. The OS feels disjointed and slow. It's like Windows 8 and 10 where you have different design patterns throughout the system. The remote is also cheap (eg no backlight) and it's time to ditch the pointer functionality (never use it).
      The Sony 'premium' in the Netherlands usually was around 700 EUR over an LG or Samsung and I happily paid it. Now that is about 2000 EUR and that's just not justifiable. I'm happy with the G4, but in all fairness the A95L is the king, would be indisputable if it would have 4x HMDI 2.1.

    I would think that a flagship OLED from Panasonic (Z95A, the successor to the EZ/FZ/GZ/HZ/JZ/LZ/MZ series) should be compared to LG's Signature (W series, if it's still being manufactured), not the G4 series, which would be at the level of Panasonic's 1500 series. If, the LG's brightness surpasses the Panasonic's (in certain parameters, however), the Panasonic's contrast is better, it is seen more clearly, the sound (150W RMS, from Technics) does not even compare to the poor one (40W RMS, from Bang&Olufsen) of LG, the back of the Panasonic screen is metallic, dissipating heat better, and the OLED panel imported from LG (I think Samsung manufactures it better, as is the case with phones) resists the burn-in effect better from Panasonic than from LG (for example, from my own experience, the LG panel, model C8, displayed the burned-in image of some TV logos or dark streaks in the bezel area, after 2 years of operation, while with the Panasonic, model HZ2000, the LG’s C8 successor, these inconveniences only begin to be seen after 4 years...). Overall, with the image (of all formats) calibrated by Hollywood experts, Panasonic has no equal in OLED or even QLED-OLED TVs competitors: Sony, Philips or Samsung. Let's remember the old plasma TVs, also from Panasonic, how good they were... 📺😎✨

    Yet again nobody talks about the dreadful always on processing that LG uses to combat the chrominance overshoot, that adds lines on grey to near black surfaces in motion due to dithering, a situation that makes the TV painful to watch on close distance, especially when used as a PC monitor. Some console gamers will have this issue as well, if they sit close to the TV. It was so simple if LG would just disable this in game mode, where any image processing is useless anyways. For me it's hard to understand why no reviewer talks about this, because I'm sure that they've all noticed it and the image is greatly degraded at least in gaming. Because of this, the score in gaming should be very low for G4, despite its numerous features.

      I agree. But what makes you say so. Do you have an OLED with burn in?

      6,000 hrs in. Nothing at all. Then again, I'm not a moron that boosts settings. I'm at 25 brightness now, and it hurts my eyes.

      @@williamlowry5704 I have a 6 year old OLED that I used for gaming for about a year and it didn’t show up at the time but 5 years later those pixels are worn and red pixels are complete trash in the lower third. It’s a C8 and I’m sure those issues have been improved over the years due to phosphorescent red and green pixels but people have real experiences of it prior to the LG EVO panels.
