They're backhanded compliments just for clicks...Charles is the biggest ppv draw these last 2 years in a ESPN overpriced PPV era...he's exciting and he will always be the true people's Champ. The UFC didn't even know how strong of a draw Charles is even without speaking English...if he spoke it I believe he would have millions of more followers. UFC made him fake an injury and moved him from ufc 288 card Sterling vs cejudo to 289 ppv nunes vs aldana card that sucked to save the card. What sucks is that most of us wanted to see Charles in Brazil in November not in Abu Dhabi...he's earned it...at least he's getting paid for Abu Dhabi.

I literally just went back and watch the first thinking I missed something.. Oliveira got cut in the first 10 seconds and then did nothing but pull guard and did nothing with it and spent the rest of the round getting smushed with a forearm and elbow against the Cage. Nothing was close about that fight.

What’s different is no khabib. I don’t care what anyone says. That matters. I’ve long had a theory khabib had an aura where he’d have the advantage before the fight even started. The reverence ppl had for him in his prime I really do think affected some guys. Tyson had the same thing- see his fight with spinks and how he retired an undefeated Olympic champion and cruiser goat turned heavy weight champion. Took his 0 and his entire career in a round. All bc he punched the brick wall outside his dressing room and likely broke his right hand before the fight even started lol spinks looks like he was gonna shit his pants when they touched up to start. Point is, I would have loved to see Dustin and Justin fight him again. My issue with khabib is he really didn’t do rematches and more often than not we see something new. No one talks about that. Islam I think lost that aura once khabib left his corner. In my own dumb opinion, Charles always feels like an emotional fighter. Risky but entertaining . I think that makes him susceptible to swings in performance. But a confident charles feels like a much more formidable match. I still don’t think I’d get on Charles, but I think he’ll give a much better account of himself after a confidence boost in his last win . Islam is just a lot to deal with over 5 rounds

I just want to clarify something. I am 100% sure that the biggest fight of the year in terms of viewership was Islam Vs Charles. It has less pay per view because outside Western countries no one buys PPV we watch it on TV which we pay for every month and if not on TV thiusands of app which shows it for free. Islam is famous and fan favourite in Indonesia,Pakistan,India,Malaysia,Singapore,and most of Asian countries and Whole Middle east and these countries doesnt have PPV.
and bars have to pay by the amount of seats in the bar, if it holds 100 people the ufc charges 45 bucks a seat, so 4500.00 before the bar is even open , people also forget the ufc no longer holds the rights to the ppv or its buys, espn holds the rights

Chael, I like Islam and Charles so much, I would love for them to be in different weight classes but i don't think Islam's resume matches Charles' resume. In the rankings, Charles beat 2-5. 6 and 7 were beat by guys from 2-5. The champ beat 8. Other than Khabib, i don't think there is anyone to compare to Charles and I don't think you can be fair in this case. You just haven't demonstrated the capability yet toward Charles. Acknowledging facts about his record, doesn't quite cut being fair when you keep questioning his heart. Have you read the parable of the two sons?

You are leaving out a giant part of the story Chael. Obviously for dramatic effect but the fight happening in Abu Dhabi is major props to Charles. He is taking his shot and he's taking it on Islam's turf and terms.
