Thank you. I saw the use of fusible thread to bind a quilt. Now I know what size spool to purchase because of it's many uses. Thanks again.

Love the idea but I wish you would have made the spool a stand out color, red, purple, neon color, just something that makes it stand out

in weaving: add two or three rows of invisible thread at the beginning and end, to fold up a hem ready for stitching.

Could this be used to baste a quilt? It occurs to me, that if you stitched down the center of the sandwiched layers, it would hold it long enough to spray baste the quilt, and would be easier to smooth each side.

Great question! This isn't something we've tried before, but you can give it a go. You could try the same thing with a water soluble thread instead as that will wash out of your quilt after you're done. The first example in this video shows this method: ruclips.net/video/HHvQ1G-z83U/видео.html

Does the fusible thread washaway or permenant?

It won't wash away and will stay under the fabric after it's fused. However, the fuse itself is not so strong that it's permanently glued in place. The fabric can still be pulled up and readjusted, then re-fused with a hot iron. So you should still secure the fused fabric with additional stitching after you have it perfectly positioned.

She demonstrates it in the lower looper of a serger at 2 minutes and 35 seconds into the video.
