Loved this, great playing and voice. Thanks for sharing. Fun Fact: while in music class my teacher had us playing this song. I already loved her songs so I was having fun with it. New sub.

Nice. I also re-imagine many songs in open tuning to add my own flavor to the original.

Nicely done! Your vocals, your Gibson, your playing, and chord voicings are all great! I also appreciate how you respected Cindy's version, but still made it your own! Kudos to you!

Really very well done, lovely Thomas and one of my favorite songs. Never thought to try it in Open D but it works. Know what I'll be doing this evening! Not sure if my vocal range will cope with the pitch of D but might try it in Open G. Thanks for posting; love this series.😊😊

Thanks for the kind words. The range of this song is a little challenging in any key. :)

Open G might be a little challenging with some of the chord configurations. Might be easier to do it in D with the Capo on the 5th fret. :)

Man… I just love the way this Gibson sounds. What do you have on it for strings? Lovely !!

Wow….. I really enjoyed that. Of course, I have yet to hear one of your songs that I don’t enjoy. Keep it up !! IS that your favorite guitar btw… sure sounds great.

thanks for the kind words. The SJ200 is my favorite for playing in Open D tuning...has an amazing resonance to the Jumbo body. For open G stuff I prefer my 1966 Martin d-18. or my Collings D1. But my "go to " guitar (which I keep in standard tuning) is my 1967 Guild F-50 that I bought brand new. :)
