I am missing: the promised monthly new maps/missions. The real weapons modification ability (scopes, lamps... act), this also have been promised. get rid of weapon blessings randomization.
Scorebord. A overview how mutch of Atoma have been "cleansed". True lvl, like you said. new character types. A official character lvl expansion to maybe 100 with of course more and new skills and harder missions. A way, also if it is really extremly slow, to exchange ordo dockets into premium currency. so players have at least some chance to buy the extra skin. or make more skins available for normal dockets.

They didn't learn _any_ of the lessons they should've learned from Vermintide 2.
    - STILL no scoreboard.
    - STILL no explanation for what all the status effects do for newbies (e.g. a new player can't see in-game what 'Rending' or 'Brittleness' do).
    - Still a terrible crafting system. (over-reliance on Plasteel and underutilization of Diamantine)
    - Extremely low reward-rate (one weapon/curio per mission)
    - Took over a year to get a perk system better than Vermintide 2 (to be fair, the perk system is something I really like)
    - No coherent story between missions.
    - Can't play with bots to do solo challenges or just learn the game.
    - Still _far_ more prone to crashing than Vermintide 2.
    - Still poorly optimised.
    - Still has loads more audio bugs than I recall Vermintide 2 having (if any).
    - Questionable weapon designs (e.g. the example of the Helbore with a scope in this video was a great example).
    - Sus melee experience (in my experience w/Vermintide 2, I can't recall me hitting or missing an attack _not_ matching up with the animation on-screen; not as consistent in my experience with Darktide).

Sorry my friend but this is bullshit, it's not like after every patch ppl start to complain (rightfully so) about silent patrols. Sad thing most ppl forgot about it and now trying to make V2 perfect game which as much as i love this game and spent 1k+h was not.

Helbore feels out of place in general the way it is imo. I mean why is it a *charged up shot* ? A single target, slow firing and low handling weapon is the last thing you want in a horde game as your only ranged weapon, especially if way more versatile options exist. The revolver has good handling, piercing and damage to compensate it's slow reload and low capacity, the bolter while slow to equip can magdump to demolish whatever is in front of you and the plasma gun compensates for its slow RoF with the ability to vaporize everything in its line of fire. If you want accuracy the kantraels can do, have high handling and are easy to spam follow up shots with. Helbore just doesn't feel rewarding to use compared to the rest

I think another good point you can add to map variety is how well made visually Vermintide 2's maps are compared to Darktide. Let me give you a few examples:
    Vermintide 2 Maps:
Act1: mid day castle where you fight your way to a cathedral in a mix of city and nature, two underground tomb levels, a large city thats collapsing in real time.
Act 2: an elven forest, a night time rainy city, a fortress under seige, and an underground dwarven city
Act 3: A farm, snow levels, a rotting forrest, and a war camp
Act 4: An underground cave that goes to a freezing wasteland
    Darktide Maps:
    Grimdark Grimy City (night)
    Grimdark Grimy City (day)
    Grimdark Grimy City (dessert)
    Grimdark Grimy City (cathedral)
Like, I understand the lore and I get it's a hive city: but I feel like like Darktide's maps lack alot of the visual diversity and variety that made Vermintide 2's maps so fun to look at and play. With Darktide it all just seems like another slight variant of "Grimdark Grimy City"

    • @stefanrosch1991
      @stefanrosch1991 10 месяцев назад +13

Yes, thats a huge problem. Why dont they make a noble quarters of the hive map where rich people have trees plants and luxury.
Or a map high up and on the outer side of the hive city, where its freezing cold and/or a storm is raging.
Some visual variety wouldnt hurt the game at all.

    • @Caribeancrysis
      @Caribeancrysis 10 месяцев назад +7

I think what we have actually has variety, it's just that we don't have much of it. We haveoutside desert areas, we have factories, living quarters, archives. But we could have so much more.

    • @wizard_4194
      @wizard_4194 9 месяцев назад +2

thing is it wouldn't exactly make sense in darktide since you're supposed to be in the lowest parts of the hive city on an already cesspit planet. Vermintide has way better maps but in that game you're not exactly tied to a speciffic area such as the "lower hives" which are glorified sewer levels

    • @effive7817
      @effive7817 9 месяцев назад

I think throneside(cathedral) and surface(desert) map is pretty distinct. Cities generally aren't cover in churches and mini churches, and the one map thats on the surface is still the one map thats on the surface. The rest certainly blend together

  • @Reginald-sc9tk
    @Reginald-sc9tk 10 месяцев назад +9

    Content, content, content.
The word "live service" is supposed to mean regular consistent updates with more content. In exchange players hypothetically buy stuff that keeps the studio running. Usually low cost high profit cosmetics. But instead we get these enormous content droughts, over and over. There has not been a new weapon family released since the game launched. Only derivative patterns that do not change the core gameplay feel at all. Patch 13, 14 and 15 were great patches but its been an age since then with nothing new to play.
On the subject of skins the main issue I see there is just the price vs quality ratio is terrible. Most of the skins aren't very good quality yet they keep charging "premium" prices for defective products. On the subject of Crafting - break the locks.

Honestly the next thing on their agenda should be the absolutely abhorrent crafting system its probably the biggest issue the game currently has as it actively hinders replayability instead of giving us a goal to work towards. I literally cant imagine a worse crafting system its just as unsatisfying as possible the % are capped at 80 stats are confusing and either dont matter at all have to be a perfect % to not waste stats or are a must have at 80 or reroll. Blessings are stupidly designed as t1 and t2 are completely irrelevant after lvl 30 since youll only see them in stores and as gifts from the emperor so you dont get any value from those stores or from mission rewards. Also a lot of weapons have the same blessings but unless its the same weapon type it isnt shared and even if it is the same weapon type its not shared for certain exceptions making it even more confusing. And the amount of rng is absolutely cancer you need a good roll to start wich will set you back somewhere inbetween 200k and 2mil depending on how good of a roll you are looking for if you want a godroll you can easily waste like 10mil and get nothing out of it. After that you go for blessings and perks and depending on weapon you have somewhere around 7 blessings of 2 tiers that actually roll past lvl 30 and 15 diffrent perks where the mayority is useless and they quite often roll t2 or t3 making thigs even worse. After very rough calculations getting an actual god roll at 380 with the dump and peak stats you want with perfect blessings and perks will set you back hundreds of millions of ordo dockets and hundreds of thousands of plasteel which at best case scenario 25min mission in random with curios that increase ordo dockets so you get around 55k it takes you around 1800 missions and around 750 hours of dedicated gameplay for a absolutely perfect godroll but it can easily take exponentially longer depending on the amounts of blessing and artificial rarity of them i literally only have 1 godroll and its not even a perfect one. Its a 380 voidstrike with 77% dmg and 77% quellspeed which id rather have at 80 instead of warp resistance blessings and perks are perfect though since it had 2 t4s that were exactly what i wanted. But i had to throw like 7 previous 380s since they dumped dmg below 75 there are no breakpoints i would hit with 80% dmg but its still annoying that it isnt perfect and quell speed works exponentially so the 3% actually matter but id like to think the unwanted warp resistance makes a diffrence even though it definetly doesnt since those 3% are jump from 37% quellspeed to 42% and considering the perk that effects your quellspeed scaling upon that its even worse. But loadspeed actually had a perfect landing at 70% which is the exact cap before you only get 0.01 extra for 2% which is completely useless. Its probably one of the best voidstrikes ever rolled but still not perfect which grinds my gears to no end that 3% wrongly placed makes such a diffrence.

Bullshit calculations. You don't need that much time for a single weapon. First off you don't need "perfect" base weapons, 370/375 base rating is plenty enough. Not to mention most people don't know how to build "perfect weapons" (MOBILITY ISN'T A DUMP STAT).
To disapprove, within 400hours of not farming resources but simply enjoying myself in auric mostly, I have perfectly built: Columnus mkV, Plasma (don't fking use charge speed or volatility for the love of the emperor), Bolter x2, Agr Mk1, CB x2, Mk7 shovel, Crucis hammer, zarona cow boy (overrated weapon btw), ripper mkV, bully club mk3, mk4&7 stubbers, rumbler (and decent kickback, need lvl4 blessing tho not needed), crit voidstrike & purgatus, both force swords and beloved maccabian.
They are all above 375 rating, with perfect perks, and some have blessings lvl 3 at worst when they barely matter.
I know one single person's stuff isn't much of a proof, but personally farming is not an issue, and with that amount of near perfect weapons with so little hours (especially not focused on farming), I find it a bit too consistent to discard it as "lucky".
I won't call the crafting system perfect. It's decent, and far from atrocious as tiktokers love to say.

Damage is the least important stat on any weapon. The difference between 380 and 360 is literally about 20 to 30 damage on damnation. Try it out in the psykanium. Sounds like you spend more time trying to get a 380 weapon than actually play the game and have fun.

haven't fully finished watching the video but kind of like thought about it and figured just say it right now.... In the beginning it wasn't so much the actual price of the skins being expensive, almost all the controversy around it was about the predatorial practice of you having to spend money to buy the in-game currency that is only used for buying skins. beyond the obvious problem with making this even a thing was that if you bought the in-game currency you always ended up with an odd amount leftover obligating you to make another purchase which would do the same thing if you wanted to buy anything of skins. then there's the fact that there's no other way to actually gain such currency. and finally added to the predatorial practice is having skin show up for a period of time with no indication if they'll ever show up again or when.... the actual price of the Skins was not necessarily the problem that people were complaining about it was the predatorial practice.

A big factor is the endgame grind, probably. Cause trying to get that perfect endgame gun is so frustrating. You gotta scrabble around the map for one resource to upgrade the gun to gold, which may or may not give you a roll that’s totally ass…
And look, I’m a WF player, I’m used to frustrating grinds, but WF usually doesn’t make you think “ah shit, guess all that investment I put in was TOTALLY POINTLESS.”
(I mean, sometimes it _does_ happen when WF releases a prime or new variant, but it’s not a near-daily thing. It’s not a core part of the daily experience that I’ll try to pour resources that took hours to get into, I don’t know, a new Quartakk, and then get one with level 1 perks and blessings that I know will never be good)

This will be long... I'll make some categories for my complaints as well.
    **Game stability and performance**
    1. The game is still unstable and for some users takes like... 5-10 minutes to load? Which is NOT acceptable.
    2. The game is optimised even worse than Vermintide. That is a f*cking joke. Some people with decent enough PC's struggle to keep stable 50 fps, let alone 60.
    3. Random kicks from matches and server are a thing. Why this happens, nobody can tell.
    **Balance**
    1. Weapon balance issues. Some of the weapons are straight up unusable or have VERY complex builds needed for them.
    2. Class balance issues... I mean... for f*ck's sake if there is a psyker in your lobby or a zealot with a thunder hammer, you might as well not do anything as ogryn or veteran. It just sucks.
    3. Grenades... Some of them are just terrible, and then there is krak grenade on Veteran. Chuck 6 of them and Demon Host on Heresy evaporates
    4. Some weapons feel... like plastic toys? This is a complaint mostly about lasguns, which seem to do almost nothing to armoured enemies
    5. More builds need to at least feel ( not objectively be ) viable. I made one melee/ranged hybrid for my veteran and I cannot play anything else because everything else I make either sucks or feels shite to play. Plus I don't have enough materials to roll into a new build
    **Game systems**
    1. Material issues: way to little dockets and plasteel to consistently roll for your gear. One mission from quickplay with like 2 modifiers and scriptures on heresy is barely enough for 4-5 rolls in the Brunt's Armoury.
    2. There is another issue: not enough upgrade materials, period. I have 7000+ diamantine but 0 plasteel all the time.
    3. Sir Melf's contracts are a joke. Contracts should grant the player a LOT more of that special currency. I cannot even count how many times I had to give up on an item Melf had in his limited acquisition panel, because I was 100 doublons short or whatever.
    4. Because of all of the above the game feels WAY to grindy if you want to play it casualy or even semi-dedicated. I can sit down and play a few hours a day and I still have sod all ordo dockets and plasteel. I play heresy quickplay all the time...
    5. Map diveristy is just... horrendous. Half the maps look the same.
    6. Random spawns for grims and scriptures ARE A BAD DESIGIN!!!! You can be pretty thorough and still easily miss them. Or an anemy pushes you off a ledge and you cannot go look for them anymore
    7. Crafting system should either be full rng or fully in player control. I hate the fact taht i can only get 50% of the stuff that I want on my weapon when I actually can hand pick these things (2 out of 4 total perks/blessings)
    8. Enemy spam. On higher difficulties, with shock tropps and high intensity... your ammo is just gone almost all the time. And sometimes you literally cannot tell waht you are shooting at or how many enemies are attacking you
    **Playerbase**
    1. Random people... Horde games are always better with friends, but random people in this game are by far THE WORST out of any horde game I have played. Randomers seem to not give a shit about you getting swarmed, they have 0 spacial awerness, they literally let enemies stab you in the back all the time, they have no clue how their characters work or they just don't let you play at all because they delete the entire horde with their psychic powers. Or, God forbid, they can only kill the horde and have nothing to kill specials/elites with. It is insane how much harder having a random party makes missions in this game. It should not be this crippling.
    2. Kill stealing, as weird as it sounds, is also a massive issue. If I decide to mag dump into a Crusher to get rid of it and then somebody chucks a grenade at it and kills it, or kills it with a plasma in 1 shot, I just wasted all that ammo to achieve absolutely nothing. This is a common issue, as some people feel the need to "win" in a game that does not even have a scoreboard...
    3. Communication/comprehension issues. People cannot even be arsed to ping high priority targets... People don't care about enemies being highlighted by Volley Fire. People steal ammo all the time, even if you are quite literally completely out and cannot shoot. People stagger bosses while I am trying to throw a bunch of Krak Grenades at them. People do not understand that a person fidlding with an interrogation probe needs to be protected. People do not listen when you tell them that you need help or ammo or ANYTHING, they just do not give rat's ass about anything.
    4. All of the above reasons make me spit acid and venom when I play, which in turn makes the experience toxic for me and my friends. We just avoid randomers if we can, we actually go as far as to private the games or just not play at all if we cannot get a full party
    **Other**
    1. Music is... more of a distraction than a pleasant addition. I hate how dubsteppy it gets at times. This is subjective tho
    2. Sound bugs? Sometimes I seemingly cannot hear enemies sneaking up on me? Sometimes the music cuts out? Sometimes the gun audio is all rattly?
I could go on but... erm "stop it, it is already dead"

I agree with most of your thoughts but randoms are actually 9 times out of ten really decent at least in auric. Also sidenote you contradict yourself and rambled a lot, you say teammates are bad but get mad when a psyker deletes a horde, and you care about “kill stealing?” it’s a team based game I don’t care if someone’s steals my crusher kill lol.

    • @zwidowca1
      @zwidowca1 10 месяцев назад

Edit: my initial comment was rambly because it was not a concise critique. I think that is painfully obvious.
@@huevote9474 I was going to make a rather long winded reply to this, but I just realised you either misunderstood me or are actively trying to twist what I am saying. I'll try to keep this concise:
      1. My experience with randoms is beyond awful. As this is highly subjective there is no point in discussing this. Our opinions and experiences are cleary polar opposites.
      2. Psykers deleting hordes all the time make me feel useless and effectively make my presence in the lobby pointelss, if I am also specced for that. If there is no reason for me to be there then why am I even playing at all? The team could use a character specced for special sniping or something else IDK. This is also a balance issue...
      3. I am mad about kill stealing, because killing an enemy takes either time or time and resources. In order to kill a crusher on my ranged build i need to dump anywhere from 28 to 42 shots from my different autoguns. That is anywhere from 5% to almsot 10% of my total ammo. Or i need to use 1 krak grenade. Or i need to chainsaw at least 3 times.
The thing is if somebody is going to just kill it in 1 hit after I already did considerable damage to it( or thrown a grenade at it ) , then I wasted my time or my time and resources. If you don't understand why that is an issue then I cannot help you.

its become a fairly well made game, generally mechanically sound. good visual and audio presentation. most bugs have been ironed out.
i played l4d2 a bunch back in the day and id easily say side by side theyre near equals. part of darktide's struggle is that there are a load of other high quality co-op games competing for attention, deep rock galactic, for example, but there were good games back in l4d2s time too, so that can't be all.
i think that because the l4d2 characters were survivors while the darktide characters are warriors, valve was willing to have the survivors do more unconventional things, and have plenty of sections where they are scrambling to escape, distract, evade where 90% of every darktide map is battling through the face of the enemy. the sectionized form of l4d2 maps might also be to their advantage - giving breathers and checkpoints.
the biggest factor, though? people were allowed to make fanmaps for l4d2... extremely extended its lifetime.

An idea they could do is just have content ready and scheduled during a Christmas vacation like content drip fed new weapons to hold people over until major updates can resume once the break is over. Christmas vacation for Sweden should be over after this weekend so hopefully we start getting more regular communication and updates once again and with Xbox release they can getting the good stuff out to us and hopefully finally fix the audio problems because boy I love silent crushers and silent pox bursters... so much fun.

Darktide is a horde mode? It takes place accross a linar path and technically could be infinite. I would do it like this.
Infinite mission mode where once you complete on normal level a door opens up to a lift or air lock which takes you to a room where you can change you loadout and heal up etc. Then when you leave it you enter another part of the hive which is just another mission. This goes on infiantely with each new mission in the infinaye chain starting to go up in difficulty (depending on what you started on) and modifiers get added. Each safe room you get your mission loot drop and can swap to the dropped weapon etc if you want. This would be very easy to implement and would be a lot of fun.
Another really cool idea would be to have two teams of four have random parts of missions where they can see eachother but can't reach eachother and have to work as two teams to progress. Maybe the boss fight they can all reach each other to take the super boss down.

Also, the skin prices *are* insane, when compared to Fartshark's previous game, VT2. And to claim that darktide is a AAA game is just ridiculous. VT2 is by far the superior product and has a cash shop that the majority of the playerbase actually approved of, because the cosmetics that were purchase-only were either of exceptional quality, or references to the wider whfb universe.

It's almost like we went back to a beta state. They need to get that fixed ASAP. Nothing is more annoying that getting to the point where you ready up and the game crashes when the cutscene tries to load up. That's the number 1 issue for me, number 2 is that damn crafting system. It wastes your time, and the meager resources you get for completing missions.

Skin prices is an issue, when the game don’t work, yet they want you to pay more money on a scam store that was prioritized before the rest of the game was finished, where is crafting, when we did get crafting it’s terrible awfull and still hasn’t been fixed, making end game still terrible not fun. ( they know how to due crafting and cosmetics for gear, example vermintide 2), we know much effort they put into skins that can be earned in game ( it’s not much ) vs a 5$ skin that’s not a dlc it’s a single skin ( looks great ) but like nah dude 5$ is 5 one games worth, don’t shovel skins down our throat and force us to pay more money…. When the base game didn’t work.
( this rant was very very valid and still is valid, skins should be earned in game or sold in bundles so there actually worth the money or effort to get. )

A guy with 500 hours in Darktide playing constantly hi in shock trooper damnation/Malestorm.
    My biggest gripes with Darktide:
    - crafting system:
Darktide is the game of numbers and your purpose is hitting breakpoints and synergasing it with your skills.
    Example:
Zealot can get 30% crit chance for hitting bleeding enemies so you can take weapons that apply bleed stacks on hit.
    Problem:
I can farm for a whole free day (10 hours) with biggest rewards due to high difficulty and quick play, but the crafting can fuck me over giving me bricked weapons.
"BUT I PASSED THE MISSION WITH PROFANE (GREY LOWEST LEVEL) MISSION".
Yeah you can, but it's not fun, the difference between good roll and bad roll is changing the whole game for you letting you survive things that normaly would kill you (don't say that you never seen zealot rushing 30 shotgunners and killing them under 5 seconds in meele).
    - Teamplay and lack of communication:
Sometimes it feels like I am playing single player game, people don't communicate tell what they see, warn you, etc.
In contrary the games like Starship Troopers or Helldivers you constantly speak and cooperate.
    - not knowing how to match weapons and builds:
It's tiring to be the only person in team capable dealing with maulers or crushers, people usualy just pick up things that lets them rack up trash mob kills and shit themselves when there is monstrosity or ogryn.
    - enemies phasing each other and shooting through enemies - trappers and crushers.
    Enough said.

@@dwightk.schrute8696 you are half correct, and it's worse
Some perks are jokes like you say, but they keep you from getting a good ones.
For example on a revovler you can get surgeon perk, which gives you 10% of critical chance per 0.2 sec of aiming weapon downsight, so bassicly even if you quick scope you get always 10-30% of crit chance and if you back step and line your shoots you always crit.
On thunder hammer there is thrust - the longer you wind up attack the bigger power bonus you get.
But yeach some of the perks just exist to fuck up your weapon and for no other reason, like 9 stacks of bleed on critical hit, where there is a perk that gives 4 bleed stacks on ANY hit.

But in Darktide those perks are useless and there to just make you grind more and waste your time. Combined with the atrocious drop rates of everything useful and the repetitiveness of the missions I simply noped out.
And I fucking hate it - the fix is obvious and the core of the game is solid... why do live service game devs continue making this mistake is beyond me.

Most of my friends already dropped out waaaaaay before that, most not even seeing Heresy mode. 99% of the game knowledge which allowed me to start playing damnation in the first place came from youtube turotials! Biggest issue for me is this - I just reached level 30, even at level 20 i was running Heresy difficulty with little issue (Only issue is mentally deficient teammates). At *NO* Point in the game has my weapons felt strong and at no point did they feel weak either, they just feel the same.. Of course, the different weapon types feel different but when receiving what should be a weapon upgrade of the same weapon it's not even noticeable, that's a problem.
Another issue i have is that getting certain blessings are dependent on a timer, it's not something i can realistically farm or craft myself. I have to wait for a shop to update Hourly and an EXTREMELY low chance of having the blessing i want. Even worse than that, the shop that *actually* has a chance of having the blessing i want is updated DAILY. This is a terrible design because it just makes me feel as if playing won't lead to upgrades anyway, so why bother? A simple solution to this would be receiving more weapons at the end of missions OR allowing me to choose between 3-5 weapons, depending on difficulty.
Another huge issue i have with the game is that any level 5 can queue up a max difficulty mission. Is have dead weight and a literal, actual liability on my team 80% of the time fun? No. Worse yet when i queue and get THREE low level players on my team, which basically means that i can leave immediately..
95% of the maps in this game look exactly the same. Dark, bleak and industrial, and i get that this suits the theme of the game, but so would go to a planet with vegetation and color.
But i feel the biggest issue being that the entire game is based off of running around, killing the same exact enemies on maps that looks almost exactly the same as the last. It gets stale, and it gets stale quickly.
It feels like Diablo 4. I never feel more powerful, it all just looks and feels the same at all times.

My main gripe, They PROMISED to deliver an update that would allow single player. By that I mean not having to have at least one person in your fireteam. I have beaten Vermintide as well as vermintide 2 on legendary on solo. I enjoy the challenge, as well as the fact that I enjoy NOT having to chase down rando's who immediately sprint away and end up getting killed off. I played this game for about 100 hours and I really could not tell you anything about any map. Whether or not you play solo doesn't matter, lots of folks want to. They said they would implement this feature and they lied. To cover up the lie they tried to delete all posts stating single player would be coming. No, they just straight lied. I think it sucks that if you are a 40K fan, and you wish to play as the Imperial Guard, you either have to play a turn base game, or this false advertised mess. Thank goodness for games like Necromunda! Now, I fully expect to have at least one shill attack me for wanting the developers to keep their word and deliver what I paid for.

I'm not going to say it's unreasonable at all to be upset about a non delivered promise. But I will say you are crazy if you think people who want to play a Co op game solo aren't a tiny minority, and even among those people many of then just want the option for the challenge as opposed to finding it more fun.
Also the idea that you want to enjoy a game about playing a guardsmen but want to experience it as a lone super commando is just genuinely kind of funny.

Horde mode would be a good idea but we have it at the end of all mission or somewhat when you have to hold on till the object is done so its kinda meh, we need more modifiers, more maps, an actual revamp of the crafting system witch is a gacha rn (predatory rng), more actual weapons not marks we have plenty of those, CONTENT CONTENT CONTENT, they have a big franchise i would say massive as warhammer and theyre not even dipping their toes in, such a waste

@@SevericKBooM They probably have 1 dev team supporting both vermintide 2 and darktide. So the PVP just hit vermintide 2, ie that was their content drop. Hopefully darktide comes next with another content patch.
Don't get me wrong, I do want more content. But the gameplay loop is so fun, I have found myself enjoying the grind.

I think it's just people's mentality and goals that are expecting different things. Plenty of people still play the game daily and have fun.
I play to have nice games along good players when tagging solo (which are rare tbh xD but satisfying when it happens, and it's pretty nervous when you have to solo carry), or just enjoy it with friends when we can.
If you start to feel like a game becomes a chore, be it because of "dailies", farming resources, lack of maps (I've never understood this issue, not to mention the 40K has NEVER been this well done since DoW 1), the community or whatnot, it's just wrong, and it's only fair to stop there.

Fatshark set a precedent for their games with vermintide for me, itll be a more developed, functional, and overall better game later on down the road, so I've held off on buying Darktide. Why deal with this mess when I can go play vermintide thats already been through that? I just hope darktide will get to the worth playing point before devs give up the drip feeding of content and basic features.

I think it's just that it feels like this game lacks content. There's nothing to do but run missions over and over. The campaign doesn't exist, there's no horde survival mode or roguelike mode, vs mode, or anything like that. The only thing you can do is grind out weapons which is so random it's frustrating. A friend I play with was saying he wished he could prestige his character and level up again, because it felt like there wasn't much to reach for after hitting level 30. The free cosmetics are mostly boring or ugly and there's a tiny amount of them, so you can't even grind for ways to make your character look cooler.
Personally I love the gameplay enough that just improving my skill at the game has been enough of a goal to keep me playing, but not everyone is like that. And compared to other live service games there just isn't much breadth to what you can do here. I just got back into Warframe (which is maybe an unfair comparison since that game has been around forever), but that game has regular missions, open world bounties, survival missions, archwing and railjack space ship battles, hover skateboards, a pretty extensive campaign, hunting your own personal nemesis, and like 30 different classes to play. You basically can't run out of stuff to do. There's always more frames, weapons, mods or cosmetics to chase. We just need more goals other than grinding out plasteel to randomly roll for a blessing you want or whatever.

This game could be amazing going into nxt year. Think of all the 40k lore, devs could have payed DLC with different baddies & maps. Shit don't even need different maps all time. Have different sectors to clear out the zenos Sc um. Bit by bit sector by sector. I'm level 30 zealot & bored know. Might try another character? But do I want to grind to level 30 again? (no i don't) to boring on low difficulty

Darktide is a good example of an obviously talented and capable company releasing an overambitious game. They promised waaay to much at launch. It has been more than a year and while we havr gotten some banger updates and content, it seems they manage to kark the servers with every major patch/update. The crafting system is still in need of a rework, since it is too grindy and darktide is usually a more casual experience for people to have fun. Fatshark listens SOMETIMES but they really need to get their finger out their ass and fix the obvious problems.

My thoughts are the same as ever. Play the game daily, love it.
But I am one of those people who's had Star Wars Battlefront 2 (2005) since 2005 and play it to this day almost 20 years later. I don't know what to say, I think the game is excellent. Barring it's arse of a crafting system, which I don't care for much (Crafting systems are detractors from the main experience), it's just excellent. I don't really understand this demand for constant content, I truly don't. Do people just not have fun playing the actual game, what is it? Do you need a new map every 3 months?
Like I mentioned Battlefront 2 above. The game got some 20 or so maps that you play against bots. And that's still fun. After 20 years, it's still incredibly fun to play those 20 or so odd maps against bots. Maybe I'm old, maybe I'm satisfied getting to put 2-3 hours into the game after work, just slaying heretic after heretic. But I find the core gameplay loop immensely satisfying and I find Auric Malestrom incredibly fun, because every time I play, the matches can go completely differently depending on teammates and conditions.
I just don't really get the complaints (Besides the crafting system, that complaint is entirely justified). I think the game has a ton of weapons and builds you can experiment with and a good variety of maps and conditions that make every playthrough a little bit different. I'm happy with that.
Also, for the people who constantly bring up the argument that "they're adding cosmetics but they're not adding maps, shows their priorities". Let me clue you in, as a game dev myself. CHARACTER artists work on CHARACTER ART. I.e character artists produce the cosmetics, player models, enemy models and so on. MAP artists work on the MAPS. It's THEIR job to make maps. If the map artists all resigned tomorrow, we'd still be getting new cosmetics because the people making cosmetics are still employed. And vice versa. So, there's a PSA for people who may not be aware of how game dev works.
Anyways, these are my 2 cents. Love the game. Play it every day after work. Love killing heretics. Looking forward to more.

What nonsense are you talking about?! If you ship a game with a glaring content issues and you put cosmetic items (which people gladly grind for) behind a paywall eventhough your game isnt free to play, then it deserves a death knell. You cant just excuse Microtransactions in a premium game, while the game itself lacks in map variety, enemy variety and general Progression issues. Focus on fixing your damn game before expecting players to pay for something they should be able to earn ingame. Helldivers 2 is the perfect example of how to do it right. You can unlock just about everything in the game just by playing it, even the things that you could by with microtransactions. This gives the player a reason to grind and play.
It also rather obvious that Fatshark does not plan to invest heavily into this game or doesnt have the ressources because they botched the moneization.

It's because why would anyone play Darktide when Helldivers 2 or Deep Rock Galactic exist? I uninstalled the game because I'm not going to wait anymore for them to unlock gear progression.
Not to mention they don't understand the concept of basic server maintenance. Does not a single IT person on the development team understand the concept of periodic reboots to maintain server stability? Pathetic.

I feel a lot of the game is just mediocre.
New maps in the big stadium bowl isn’t really compelling. It’s a very static experience that doesn’t have a lot of variety. I know roughly when/where snipers WILL show up at. Closing gates is rather optional in low difficulty groups, so groups can just sit in one spot and camp. Most players aren’t going to be running super hard difficulty, so the end of the map’s big “close the gates” mechanic is just ignored and there isn’t anything interesting to do in the map… I just wait for 10 minutes… change the gates to REAL difficulty: spawn in monsters and a horde of heavy elites if the gates aren’t closed…
Maps are all the same. “Old rundown industrial city” describes literally every map. I honestly don’t even know what the maps are named. I genuinely do not know. They are all the same.
Maps are entirely linear. There is no difference in map layouts. There is no real variety, not only does every map end up being “old industrial city”, but the maps have very little variety to them. I’d love to see a fallen pillar blocking a path and my team would have to go a different route…
Characters are boring. One thing that Vermintide did really well was giving each character a unique design and dialogue. Each character has unique interactions with each other character and subclass. It added in something of interest, it was much more tailored and was fun to see how Saltz would react differently to each individual Sienna career and vice versa. In Darktide, we get a meaningless character customization screen and generic characters with generic lines that don’t really do anything to add depth to the game. I get to choose a face option, but I don’t get to listen to Bardin being bardin.
