My guess for why Sero failed is because even though he saved Mineta, unlike other teams where someone sacrificed themselves, like Iida’s, it didn’t directly lead to their victory. Mineta still had to come up with a plan and get past Midnight by himself
Have to say, the idea that those who failed class are the ones who need the bootcamp the most is such freaking good logic. Why would you take the 5 students who are clearly lagging behind the rest of the class and _deprive_ them of extra training!?
Listening to her rambling pauses and knowing where the story goes my face is like the meme of the woman with a cup going "Hmmm interesting". The way I interpreted handsy’s conviction is that heroes in general and All might in particular trick people into thinking the world is safe and good. I think that offends him because he feels strongly that it’s chaotic and dangerous and wants to rip that illusion away. Show the fragility of laws and morality when faced with people who just…don’t give af. So whereas Stain was trying to create a just society, Hands is trying to create a society that is aware of its injustice. Because a world where everyone is constantly afraid of the next terrible thing is in his mind a more honest and awake world.
Ahhh, I really wish Alicia would pay more attention to the part where Shigaraki was talking about heroes smiling as if there's no one they couldn't save. With a picture of a bloodied child standing over someone's hand it was the first major hint about what the hell Shigaraki's whole deal is and why exactly he hates heroes. :(
While it's not really a flaw, my only regret with this episode is that it doesn't do enough justice to Shigaraki's smile. The page of the manga where we see his smile is so strong, that it remains marked for a moment in your mind. But yes, even without movement, just in discussion between our protagonist and his antagonist, the episode installs a lot of tension. Now that I think about it, what makes Shigaraki a solid villain is that, in a slightly different story, he'd be the protagonist. His frustration at how peaceful everything is and his loathing of heroes all stem from the same thing: The system of "heroes" and "villains" does nothing to actually address the inequality and systemic failure that are the source of so much "crime". Superman can't solve world hunger.
Personally, I call him Shiggy, but you do you. Cute but completely demented. Toga is my pick for worst girl. She's not badly written per say, she just doesn't have any qualities I respect enough to overlook all the bad ones. Dabi has creepy as his default settings. Not a fan of him. Again, not due to bad writing, just personal taste of him as a person. Stain became an unwitting recruitment tool, but Shiggy doesn't want Stain's ideology to be what brings people to him. Stain wants to violently reform hero society, Shigaraki wants to burn it to ash and scatter the ash to the winds. Kurogiri coming in clutch yet again. I'm with you. Sero showed good reflexes and compassionate instinct. The reason why they still get to go is sound. This is intensified training to bring them up to combat readiness faster, so it really would be to their detriment to be left behind. No, Iida has a point. Aizawa is dancing on the wolf crying line. Let's give it up for vicarious retail therapy! Also Get Mineta on a watchlist! It's neat to briefly see the consumer side of a quirk society. Because body types are wildly radical in variation with people needing different clothes just to start. Fair point about Momo not knowing how to get the most bang for her buck, but Jiro is of a family with some means, so she should be fine. Mineta also previously mentioned night vision goggles. Good call on getting outdoorsy shoes. School walking and woods hiking are very different demands on the footwear. But yes, you should also try to break them in before camp. Star wearing them around the house. That way if your feet get sore from breaking them in, you're not halfway through a hike. So much for a CLASS trip. I'd say, "STRANGER DANGER!" but we know Shigaraki. He's an enemy. That's worse. Apparently there was at least one serial killer to get a historical action figure IRL, and you can't deny that there's a worrying amount of fandom for real serial killers IRL. Shiggy doesn't disintegrate anything he touches with all five fingers, but he can't activate the quirk without all five touching. Shigaraki is one of those villains who only grows scarier as we see the layers of monster. Like an onion of evil. At first he's a violent man child with enablers. Then we get a glimpse of his world view. And with a a mentor trying to help him be a better villain... "He sounds like a mall shooter." YES. "This dude is not okay." YES!!!! Honest introspection is actually terrifying here. Shiggy is looking at what kind of villain he wants to be and how to better command a following. What can drive him to be the meanest of the monsters. The animators (and probably manga artists) were going ham with the line work. That smile definitely went into some peoples' nightmares. Shigaraki's focus on All Might is not erroneous. And it's not just from Deku. All Might is the Hero's Hero. He is the Symbol of Peace. He represents everything Shigaraki wants to destroy. Deku just sped up the target lock. No, he can't have the hands on his face scuttle around and decay things, but AFO probably could force a roboticist, puppet, and taxidermy expert make them scuttle around. World domination is also simplistic on the surface, but the road to it is long complex, and more densely dangerous than the Korean DMZ. Destroying the symbol of peace is a simple goal from the macro perspective, but executing that goal is something one could spend a lifetime planning and preparing for. It's not just the same practice of training, it's the same beach. That was the exposed brain of a nomu. One of a bulk batch. The idea of AFO raising up a true successor like All Might is doing with Deku is terrifying.
What makes Shigaraki a cool villain is that he kinda sucks as a villain. He’s just a big man baby. He has the power and intelligence and potential to be a great villain, but this episode shows a important first step: a great villain needs conviction. While Deku is slowly working to become the greatest hero, Shigaraki is working to become the greatest villain. Two sides of the same coin.
And this right here is the problem with talk no jutsu - you might end up giving the villain the emotional breakthrough he needs to become orders of magnitude more dangerous and determined
So the manga version of that infamous smile is EVEN WORSE, ebcause the author goes out of his way to draw Shigaraki like a character from a horror manga.
I remember when this came out, I saw many people were confused about Shigaraki's development here since he's still saying the same shit he's always been saying. Shigaraki even says in the episode that nothing's changed. However, at least the way I interpret it, Shigaraki didn't really believe what he was saying until now. All Might even calls him out on this during season 1, that he's using those beliefs as an excuse to kill and destroy things he doesn't like and Shigaraki says internally that he's been figured out. Now after this conversation with Deku, he realized he was right all along he just didn't have any conviction behind it. He still wants to destroy the things he doesn't like but there's meaning and reason behind it now, to kill All Might and expose and destroy this flawed society. By the way, the community calls Shigaraki, Shiggy as a nickname, so if you want a nickname to call him you can just call him that.
I know she's cute and all but people crushing over her I feel a little weird about because it's the same as women want to be girlfriends to Peter Lundin at least that's the mindset I have.
Shigaraki is definitely somewhat childish in regards to his convictions, but there's something about him that I really like. I also agree that Dabi is quite mysterious and intriguing, so I won't say anything more than to keep an eye on him.

Thanks for the reaction. I love the suspicion on Tsukauchi, keep up the good work and stay healthy.
you can trust the cop!
I know she's cute and all but people crushing over her I feel a little weird about because it's the same as women want to be girlfriends to Peter Lundin at least that's the mindset I have.
Can't wait for season 3 and the movies!
Shigaraki is definitely somewhat childish in regards to his convictions, but there's something about him that I really like. I also agree that Dabi is quite mysterious and intriguing, so I won't say anything more than to keep an eye on him.
If you know his Backstory tho uff
its probably because Shigaraki grows along with Midoriya during the story
@@connorradcliffe1769 Fair point, that might be why. I guess I see him as Midoriya if he hadn't stayed positive if that makes any sense.
@@jasonblack2477 I do know his backstory, I'm just avoiding talking about it in case Alicia sees my comment so I don't spoil stuff for her lol
Tsukauichi is worse than a villain…. HES A COP HIDE THE WEED
20:54 doesn't know or doesn't care who can say at this point
Hello, i want to say thank you for this beautiful, and i must say Shigaraki is my fav and I love him
As someone who has watched the ENTIRETY of My Hero, Hearing your theories makes me happy because when I first watched the show myself I was having the same theories. I am really excited to see your reactions for season 3 and season 6.
Bakugou: OMG he's a sweet baby bean he's just angy, protecc
All Might's long time police friend: I DON'T TRUST DIS BISH SUS YOU PLAIN LOOKING MF YOU EVIL FR I KNOW
Lmao Alicia
fabulous video alic
Did your mom name the roomba? Because that would be adorable and hilarious
My mom wanted to name it but we call the Roomba cookie :3 so we just go oooooo the cookie is being so good!! Look how clean the floor is
@@Aliciaxlifethat is amazing. And it _is_ cookie shaped so it makes sense
@@Aliciaxlife I wish I could have a Roomba. My dog will not allow it. My parents have to put theirs away when we visit even.
We like to call him Shiggy
Season 3 let's goooooo
be carful a couple peeps are talking about shit from the later seasons for no fucking reason.
Probably won't make a difference at all and I've said what I watched the channel for before but just for the algorithm gods: discovered the channel because of The Legend of Vox Machina, watched Love is war and looking forward to My hero and One Piece. Jojo's is still on my watchlist so can't comment on that.
Crazy how much of a glow up Shigaraki ends up getting looking back.
8:03 do online shopping through VRChat maybe? I'm sure somebody has made a world for that. 😎😎😂😂
I got a theory or two of my own but right now it would be kinda spoilery so I gotta zip these lips til later.
Can't wait for season 6
Almight is my hero
She's great, we love Toga.
You will discover that, with an exception or two, the parents of Class 1-A are wonderful people and wonderful parents. We already saw Ochako's parents, and even a glimpse of Koda's Mom, and they all love and support their children.
I cannot wait for Alicia to start season 3, which is probably one of my favourite arcs in anime.
Vasline is nice and all but saliva is free....
Vaseline is a LOT better at it. It's basically grease.
Oh yeah Izuku can be seen in that stain video why has no one brought that up i mean if its that popular than Deku otta be a lot more well known hell his friends should be concerned he was that close to a super hero murderer
I can’t wait for season 3!
has she said anything about watching black clover would be a great show to watch
I’ll say it now. I’ll really dig it if she continues to loves Toga.
13:55 Dry lips 💄
you can just call the hands dude Shigi short for shigaraki
Hey Alicia not sure if you watch abridged anime but SAO Abridged by Something Witty Entertainment is one of the best ones.
STOPP ATTACKING MY WHITE ASS BLACK LIPS 🤣🤣🤣💀💀💀💀💀
Ngl i thought this arc was in season 3, wjen i looked at the (s2) on your title i realized how screwed up my timeline of this series is lol
oh that happens to me a lot
Trust the cop alreadyyyyyy
Spoilers:
Bro she really just predicted Shiguraki’s shit in like 2 seconds 💀
Shigraki proves the difference between an ordinary criminal and a villain.
I wonder how you'll feel about toga by season 6. A lot of people hate on her, but i personally felt sorry for her by season 6
Ssshhhh
People hate Toga?
@@ETZFuzZBall I made sure not to put any actual spoilers
@@feedo1I absolutely do. I'd kill her on the spot if I was in the universe.
@feedo1 as of season 6, kind of. Yeah. I've seen so many people basically be like "oh, boo f*cking hoo. I don't care. You're a monstrous villain"
