If you like how Bjork sings, you'll love to listen to her talk.
Especially her TV disassembly video
@@darksuntoggafhd9947 Liiteraly opened this thread to mention the TV disassembly video, glad that someone beat me to it. :)
@@darksuntoggafhd9947 you shouldn't let poets lie to you - the video is called - Björk talking about her TV
Agreed!
Yes. Watch the video of Bjork talking about her TV set.
Bjork, Alanis Morissette and Dolores O’Riordan. Brad has picked an incredibly strong lineup for his healthy obsessions.
He sure did.
I'll third that.
I'll quadruple that times infinity plus 1
Add a little PJ, Tori, Kate Bush.
Totally. He has serious taste.
Bjork is the nearest thing we have on Earth to a real Alien! Love her.🙏❤️
I love how much Brad likes Bjork! Try some more, like "It's Oh So Quiet" or "Possibly Maybe" or "Venus As A Boy"...
I love The Modern Things as well!
Why always those ones ? Minor Bjork songs...
Or the Anchor Song or My Headphones
Oh so quiet is just a novelty song and really doesn't show her true talent
Hyper Ballad is what I'd love a reaction to
Brad being obsessed with Bjork's vocals gives me life. She has a massive discography and you have only touched the surface.
i was in brads shoes last summer. now im in these chats defending her, tooth and nail
been to a Bjork gig and I couldn't believe her voice is even better live.
It's unreal
So happy you're giving Bjork a spin. She is rarely reacted to and the woman is phenomenal!! Pagan Poetry you'd love as well ❤
YES Pagan Poetry is so good
@@svperstar Especially the video!! Love it!
@@andie4950 ha the video itself would be worth a reaction video
@@svperstar Right?! Haha.
This version is speed up tho..
One ofthe most underrated, amazing, female artists ever!
Bjork is so highly regarded, yet painfully underrated. Please watch the videos, tho. she is so deeply involved in her craft and the whole experience is extraordinarily creative
The Icelandic accent gives her voice even more character.
You should do Hyperballad by Bjork! You’ll love the her lyrics and the way she tells the story in that song. It’s stunning
Agreed.
Yes! The Royal Opera House performance!
Her best song besides Joga and Unison.
Bjork's "Joga" is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. She's a stunningly inventive, varied and talented artist. Absolutely one of the greats. I feel like there is Iceland throughout her songs; if you see its landscape, there is almost a voice you can attribute to it, and it just sounds like Bjork. Wanderlust is a more recent song with an amazing video; the juxtaposition of the video and the insanely complex music behind it leaves you with an insane level of respect for her. She's incredible.
Guys this artist is not a rabbit hole, it's a whole fantasy land of unique musical talent.. 👍and you should really admire her videos, they are beyond artistic!
This track was used in the soundtrack to Suckerpunch one of the best soundtracks I've ever heard combined with the incredible visuals sends shivers down your spine every time.
When it came out, It made its soundtrack debut in Tank Girl. Both great movies though.
Def a great soundtrack! Very kinda ethereal industrial
Nice one, forgot about that movie, more like a game but I may have to download it illegally tonight, cheers 😇
it’s definitely faster than the original.
@@mre5053 Björk was originally going to be Sub Girl in the movie but she dropped out.
Bjork seems to be one of thise rare artists that manages to get Brad immersed in the sonic experience, rather than getting distracted trying to decipher the lyrics. She is definitely a sonic experience!
I am also obsessed with Bjork. I have almost every vinyl back to her first in 1977 (yes, '77!).
Wow...I'm impressed with Lex saying it sounded industrial. I knew plenty of people who were in their teens and twenties when industrial was big in the 90's who didn't even know what the genre was. I hadn't heard this song in probably 20 years, but as soon as it started I thought "wow...I don't remember it being so industrial".
Lex's reaction is hilarious.. usually she is the enthusiastic one and brad is stoic...then she doesn't get Brad's extremely positive response.. that is literally every single time I've shown my girlfriend, wife, etc Bjork..
Him describing how it makes him feel physically (tickles going down, makes him want to explode, etc) just adds to it. These are things I feel listening to her but wouldn't describe it that way around my girl.. cause I know the trouble that can cause... lol... you have to admit.. on some level... a guy reacting to a girl's voice that way is somewhat sexual.
But so what.. lex had no problem hyping up Robert plant's vocal orgasm on whole Lotta love. Haha. I love female AND male vocals that can hit folks that way.
You've got a girlfriend AND a wife...good going I guess....
I was your 70th like, sorry for ruining the numerology. It was so apropos before I liked it. 😉
@@thedeewolf lol. Not at the same time sir.
It's me talking to my wife about Tori Amos
@@endocry haha. yeah I've had the same experience.
Brad, I'm obsessed too. Next song to check out: "Jóga." Great that you take in songs without the distracting music videos.
There are few people as interesting and creatively exciting as Bjork. The fact that she is Icelandic is the reason she pronounciates words that way.
Love seeing someone really feeling Björk almost as much as I do. I won't even put her on a list of best/favorite artists/vocalists. To me, she transcends any list.
Now this one was interesting - Bjork can be polarising, in that you either get (gehct) her and love it or it's just not your thing at all.
Great to see Brad being so enthusiastic - looking forward to you checking out a lot more of Bjork.
You already know guys, next step is Hyperballad, from the same era/album and quite possibly my favorite (Björk's) song alongside Unison. But as fans know, there's to much great Björk's songs to just name a few.
Hyperballad is brilliant
I want to see Brad's reaction to Joga. It has such a big vocal range and still has some of that Industrial sound that Lex keeps picking up from these early Bjork songs. So many good ones!!
Then Pagan Poetry, then Declare Independence
We have the same faves. Good choices :D
Hyperballad is too disjointed, not her best song
I think Bjork is a fantastically talented alien.
aaa the real 90s queens one of them my diva bjork
Brad, you might like Tori Amos. She plays piano and sings. Same era.
@@javalily Or if you wanna make it more interesting to Lex, Tori's Slayer cover 😂
"Caught a Light Sneeze" is a classic
I love how Brad is really starting to feel the music. Go Brad!
I love “passionate” Brad. He has a voice crush a several female singers and doesn’t mind letting us know lol. I think it make Lex a little uneasy lol
Top 5 favorites of the month Bjork to Bjork
A track also from the 90s movie Tank Girl which fits the theme of the movie with a rebel punk girl fighting oppression in the future albeit with an army of human hybrid kangaroos....Ice T plays one of them, not oscar worthy but kind of a goofy comic book which its based on
you guys are nailing it! she is amazing! and she is also cute as all get out!
Bjork vocals in "I play dead" are amazing too. She's really a good singer and composer !
i have always loved this song. The audio is heavy and ominous. Very cool tune.
Brad needs to see the " Its Oh So Quiet" video.
First time I heard this I felt like a Floating Tank. I always loved this song and Bjork..
Bjork is Bae Check out the band she was in when she was younger THE SUGARCUBES Song : HIT
The song was actually written to her brother who was sat at home unemployed, doing nothing to find a job, but complaining about the situation he was in.
Why not try PJ Harvey, she’s from the same era and still going. Probably the best female songwriter over the past 20-30 years . I would start with her Rid Of Me album( probably her most rock one). She has an amazing voice and each of her albums are totally different and there’s 9 so plenty to try. Love from Liverpool.
@@5burowz 100%
Ooh yes!
I’ve had a crush on her for 30 years. Amazing artist.
@@johndorsey1423 I think Lex and Brad would love her, Brad probably more her TBYML and onwards. But yeah agree she’s amazing.
Yesssssssss 😍
This song came out during the brief moment when Industrial was more mainstream. Every record label was trying to find their own version of Nine Inch Nails. It gave us newer bands like Stabbing Westward, Gravity Kills, and Drown; and brought established bands like Skinny Puppy, Front Line Assembly, and KMFDM briefly into the mainstream.
Well said. Don’t forget Ministry! 🤘
@@jimbodavis1944 Yeah. Ministry is probably the only band to come out of the signing frenzy that could be considered a long-term success.
If you love this you will be blown away by Bjork “hyperballad” ,other worldly 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
It is such a great song and Björk is one of the most interesting musicians/artist anyway with a great voice. Many musicians could be replaced with other great musicians - Björk is so special you can`t replace her equally!
I remember when this was on the radio quite a bit on the Alt Rock stations back in the day, I never thought once about interpreting the lyrics - it's more fun that way because when you read them now, they kind of blow your mind away..
Yes!!!!! Bjork!!!! Haven't seen any reactions to her yet. This is a great song to. 👍👍👍👍✌️
There’s an even heavier version of this song where Bjork is backed by rock band Skunk Anansie. When she was asked to perform the song on the BBC show Top of the Pops she did it with Skunk Anansie, which was probably a surprise to the show’s producers who were expecting the chart-friendly version.
Oh my god, Brad is going to fall in love with Skin too, isn't he?
You have to watch the videos as well.
They are ground breaking!
There’s something about artists like Bjork where her voice is so unique (as well as her personality is too) that it’s captured in the magic of her music
The sucker punch remix of this song is one I play in a lot of rock and industrial clubs due to the beat so Lex is spot on with the beat
She is amazing, just love everything about her! Pure genius
Loved seeing how much Bjork’s voice made Brad’s face just light up! Brought me back decades when I first heard her myself 🥰
I like how it's an angry song but, not in a heavy rock, screaming way. It's like an angry, unsettling post modern electronic nightmare.
When you see the smile on Brad you know he's found his happy place.
Haha awesome. I’ve never seen Brad smile so much right off the bat. And Lex with the Bjork-ish hair today. Perfect. I would say you guys need to watch her videos because they’re bonkers and amazing. But as much as Brad gets a kick out of her accent… the lyric videos are good too. Haha I’m glad Brad appreciates her quirkiness so much. Hang in their Lex, she’ll grow on you.
Bjork is such a unique artist and person. Her stuff is soooooooo varied gotta listen to many tracks to find your favorites
Lex's hair was suitable for this reaction.
Brilliant Brad ! I saw Bjork a few times, once supporting U2 at Wembley, London ... she was mesmerising and tiny !
Brad Björk has a magical song called All is full of love,,, have to check it out :)
Bjork is so ODD yet cool to listen to. She always sings like she is chanting at you with a curse; she's quite mysterious. Check out her music videos, they are interesting.
Oh yeah.. here we go.. Some PEAK bjork greatness. Something about her voice can turn the coldest angry boy's heart into mush. Brad is gonna be geeking out to Vespertine in a year or so. My cohost is a diehard metal dude.. yet Bjork is his second favorite artist.
She's instrumentally astounding too, very interesting chords!
I've seen a lot of your reactions and this is the best yet - Yo Brad - check out 'Birthday' by the Sugarcubes (the band she started in back in the 80s) her voice will blow your mind - prepare to have your brain tickled.😂
Ahh I was hoping this is the full version, it's got a metal breakdown and I flippin love it, always gets turned up
Bjork is amazing and unique. Hyperballad and Joga are two beautiful tunes you should check out. Her vocals shine, and are both delicate and powerful. You won't be disappointed! I love that Brad loves her! Shes not for everyone. 💞
I love Brad's reaction to Bjork's vocals! Bjork is a mesmeric mistress of music.
Never seen Brad so animated over a song. Love the reaction please try Bjork - Oh so quiet, you will both love it!
LOL...the ending of this video -- *particularly the jealous, nonplussed look on Lex's face in the final seconds* -- was effin' hilarious! Don't worry, Lex, I'm sure you make Brad explode, too.
Great song!!! I remember this music video. It's really good too! Your so amazing together. You compliment eachother so well! Just had to add that. It reminds me of me and my husband.
Brad, you'll melt over "come to me". see you in heaven. I'm 59 and when I first heard Bjork (without visuals) I was mesmerized.
I've actually seen her perform in concert. My favorite of hers is "Pluto" and I leapt from my seat when she sang it.
What I'm learning is that singing is itself an accent, which is why we sometimes can't tell where someone is from (i.e. UK vs USA) while they're singing. But Bjork is from Iceland. That's different. Her accent comes through, like when she sings the word "get". It's not a thing she's doing, it's a thing she can't help doing. But we wouldn't want her to change it.
0:36 Those two words get the Brad smile
Hitting on some of my all time fav female vocalists lately. Enjoying seeing Brad smile while listening because it reminds me of when I was hearing these songs for the first time myself. Have to do "Oh So Quiet" next, its a cover song but it really suits the explosive tenderness (dare I say violently happy) emotions of Bjorks voice.
I'm surprised you both loved it. Now I wonder if you'd absolutely love "Venus as a Boy".
Now check out the official video. Some jaw-dropping imagery there.
Total sidebar - she's in a film called Dancer in the Dark (she sings musical style) that will make you ugly cry, one of the finest pieces of art with this talented Icelandic oddity 💕
THis. but don't be in a bad place when you watch it. It's really heavy.
I now understand Brad's taste in music and it's excellent. Bjork is fantastic.
Before there was solo Bjork, she was in the band Sugarcubes. You've just got to hear their song "Cold Sweat". Such great vocals on that one from her.
This song is still heavy, beautiful and dark.
Yeah, this track has such an industrial sound and so well done. There's a lot of 90's female pop artists that have that metal 'stiff upper lip' vibe and while obviously not being metal, they transfer that same energy. Pink is another I haven't see you all react to yet that scratches that same itch.
There's a video of her singing on Icelandic TV when she was maybe 8 or 9. Was also in a band in the 80's called The Sugarcubes.
Thank you Brad, I fell in love with her vocal style when she was in the Sugarcubes. Check em out.
Oh! David Letterman, bjork singing Pagan Poetry. Bjork has been singing since she was a little girl. I love Anchor Song on Debut. It's Icelandic folk..but sad/dark.
Hell ya! 👍 Bjork is a cool cat. Very artistic. Should see her videos too. Odd. Cute, petite and strong voiced lady. She has a Scandanavian accent. From Iceland Her music is kind of techno punk and other various styles alternative electronic rock music. This song came on Tank Girl, 90s movie with Ice T, Lori Petty, etc. Lex hair style is Bjorkish too lol. Bjork is quirky type. Shes been doing music since the late '80s back to band Sugarcubes. She would be influenced by Kate Bush and Siouxsee and the Banshees
I still say you need to check out the band she was in before she went solo as an adult. It was called Sugar Cubes. Highly recommend the songs Cold Sweat or Walkabout. Bjork has such a unique voice and delivery. I will always love her.
You caught that well, no doubt it had an industrial influence, this came out around it's peak popularity in the 90's, O yes one more thing, she is a true artist worth a deep dive check out more of her tunes
I haven’t clicked on one of your videos faster! Bjork is ICONIC and a genius. QUEEN.
Kate Bush was a great influence for Björk.. Independent, gifted young witch who created a sound nobody had listened to at the time.. So young, beautiful wild voice and dance.. all by herself, so avant-garde yet pop. "Wuthering Heights" is a huge hit.. check the clip.. cause she's gorgeous, yes. ) ("Babooshka" is another great song to begin with)
I adore Bjork and Kate Bush, both brilliant
Yup, Bjork and Kate Bush are two of my favorite female artists. Elizabeth Fraser (Cocteau Twins) is another. As for modern artists I'm starting to put FKA Twigs in that camp of wild eccentric female geniuses. Her Magdalene (2019) album is CLEARLY influenced by Kate Bush. It's an emotional and dense album but give it a try. Don't let a few songs or modern trends put you off because it has a lot of variety and I'm sure you'll find a gateway song somewhere on the album. A proper artist who experiments and does almost all the work (and can dance). Just a free-spirited cool creature.
This is the best Bjork song I've heard. The bass line and how she weaves her tones, prime.
The best way to enjoy this song is by watching the music video it will trip you out fun fact those drums are sampled from Led Zeppelins version of " When The Levee Breaks".
Nah the best way to enjoy it is to just skip it and find a better Bjork song...this one's a dud
It's a beat that's been sampled a million times, but the way it's used in this song really stands out.
I don’t know how RUclips reaction video rules work, but Bjork is one of those artists with legendary music videos that really add to the experience of the song. If you can, you should definitely check them out.
Imagine how he is going to react when he hears Joga ! Big shout out to you Brad, not everyone gets or tunes into Bjork, this will open doors for you.
Love this song, great choice, Bjork used to be in a band caled the Sugarcubes, their standout songs were "birthday" and "hit" both really worth checking out. Love you guys from sunny Australia
I def feel Brad in this one, there are some vocalists that just do IT for me. Björk is one, Stevie Nicks, Kate Bush and Janis Joplin are others. They "tickle your soul" as Brad so eloquently put it.
Lex is like "Who is this man, and what did he do with Brad?" :-)
Try her songs 'Venus as a boy' and 'Play dead' you'll get a good taste of he vocal capabilities if you listen to play dead.
Bjork, Pj Harvey & Tori Amos ~ the 3 graces. Bjork would go to the mountains in Iceland & sing at the top of her lungs where nobody could hear her
A brilliant song that I almost forgot and only rediscovered through Zack Synder's "Sucker Punch". I could watch Babydoll's (Emily Browning) intense battle against the 13 foot samurai all day long. The whole soundtrack is great.
P.s. she is Icelandic that's why u like how she pronunciates words
I wish they would be doing the music videos for Bjork.
The industrial part of the song is courtesy 808 State, whom the song features. Track originally from the Tank Girl soundtrack.
I adore Bjork (first 3 or 4 albums are genius)
I would have never in my wildest dreams thought brad would be a Bjork fan
