I remember Louie visiting my art gallery twice in Minneapolis in the mid 1980's. He was such a warm and truly wonder-full gentle man who had an unusually keen interest in so many things including my focus which was American Indian art. We talked about many things. I was hooked on him!

We lost such good people recently. Louie, Bob, Betty, and so many more in the last year. Sad but true.

Louie is gold. I was a huge fan first time I saw him in 87, then by accident I saw he was playing at the excalibur so my wife and I saw him twice in three years 99 and 03 IIRC. All he did was make jokes based on people he called out of the audience. Louie could make anything funny...a genius so quick on his feet.

Your a National Treasure. My grandma Dotsie reminds me of your mother. Thank God for sweet women who give such unconditional love. I hope in heaven that she knows we know her sacrifice. Grace under fire.

He is the best clean comedian alive. I've heard so many of his jokes several times and I STILL crack up!!!

It's kinda sad that I only knew Louie from his time on Family Feud; but I never truly knew how incredibly funny he was and how compassionate of a human being he was. Gone too soon!!

I’m from Russia and Life of Loui was popular there too. Even my grandma loved it! Especially Loui’s dad character probably because her dad (my great grandfather) also was a WW2 veteran and she always laughed at war comments from the show

Louie seemed like such a sweet and down to earth guy. So funny too. Super funny and always clean. How can you not just life the guy? Rest Easy Big Guy.

I always loved Louis, he was my first favorite comedian.
    Life with Louis was amazing!
It was like Seinfeld, mixed with F is for family.
As I got older, it always impressed me that he could be so clean, and so funny.
    Then Baskets!
    What??
Zach Galifianakis is on a tv show, but my favorite character is the guy that plays his mom?
    Incredible career.
Weird when you get legit bummed out when someone you never even met passes away.
But, I was a fan from the age of 12, and he kept me laughing this whole time; I'm 38.
Thanks Louis, I learned a lot from you ♡

I see him spinning that charging cord, and I so get it. I don’t know where I found it, but I had one of those ball chains, like you’d find at a bank, to keep the pen attached. I didn’t steal it from anywhere. Pretty sure I found it in a parking lot. I’d twirl that thing constantly, without thinking about it. I guess that was my version of a fidget spinner.

Louis we can bring them in into our brains and they do know what we are feeling and we know what they're thinking and that's a fact I do it all the time you should always know that it's real

At the end when Louie said if we get so good at technology we could see our lost loved ones again, made me tear up. I’ve lost all my grandparents and I miss them terribly. I would do anything just to see them again even if it is for 5 minutes

One thing I really want to know is: did he marry Jeannie Harper?
I read Louie went to a highschool in his town and married his highschool sweetheart but I figured it could be actually his childhood sweatheart that he went to highschool with.
It's sad they divorced but I really want to know how much did it progress with Jeannie.

Wish he took better care of himself as he grew older.....i'm sure his obesity was his shtick at his shows but even if he was skinny he would've been funny too,...RIP.
