Michael Baughman - Upstate NY! Yes. Frozen fingers, toes & noses. Leave boots, ski pants & hand knit socks by the door. Hour later there’s a puddle.
This was after walking to the mailbox. Nevermind after actual cross-country skiing.
Had to move to TX. Still miss 8mos of winter. Snow piles still in parking lots in late May. Lol.

My pop was a WW2 vet. I can remember many nights that my dad woke up screaming " incoming..incoming" along with calling his men's names. Yet, i had a perfect and happy childhood. I was infinitely blessed. I married a man from a large family with a horrible father who was never in the military. I could NEVER understand how his kids defended him and mourned at his funeral. I refused to go and be a hypocrite. After listening to his narration of this story and his closing statement...i began to understand a little of my husband's feelings for his dad. Thank you and may you be held in the arms of angels for all the laughter and love you gave to others.

I was visiting my hometown and went to the supermarket there recently, and found a 48-count jar of pickled eggs. Immediately said to myself, “This is going in the lounge at my Knights of Columbus hall- we’re bringing ‘em back”.

Louie is such a master of comedy. He is superb at telling a story in a way so that you become 100% drawn in. Then you forget your even watching a comedy bit and start laughing. Louie your the best!

Louie still brings the smiles to my face. I felt so sorry for him when he was I found out he was being black mailed and he tried to keep it quiet , but you know it drained him emotionally and mentally. But he came out of it still making people laugh...

Beautifully done. Seeing back into a complicated past with loving eyes for what a mess it all was, little detail by little detail, all wrapped in this storyteller's magic warmth, "It's all right, it was awful, we were in it together." Masterful and helpful, teaching us how to laugh, it's okay to laugh as well as cry, at some pretty awful stuff. Thanks, Louie!
