You aren't alone, it just grabs your heart & soul and doesn't let go. Much like alot of his music from 1993-1999, his darker days when divorce, heroin, and depression ruled his life. He didn't like playing the music live, but did on a few occasions like this one.

I think this song is a beautiful example of why Benmont Trench may well be the single greatest piano player in rock n roll. He plays way less than he knows he's able to here, giving the emotionality of the song room to breathe. Just the sparsest notes and yet they are so well chosen, so lyrical and melodic that they somehow carry all the emotional weight of one of Tom's songs without ever obtruding on or overwhelming anything else thats going on here. I don't know anyone else who ever did this so well

Another outstanding song from WIldflowers. This one should have gotten some air play with its pop sound.

My all-time favorite album-- there's not a single bad song on it. And I might pick "Crawling Back to You" as my favorite song, by anybody, any time, any genre. As many times as I've listened to this album, or even just parts of it when short on time, I don't think I've ever skipped this song. It's like that Seinfeld episode when Elaine dates the guy who likes "Desperado" by the Eagles. ...I just need you to not talk right now.

"It was me and my sidekick, he was drunk and I was sick"
I always though of the movie "Unforgiven" with this line when William Munny and Ned stumble into Greeley's not expecting Little Bill waiting to get the drop on them.
Now I will always think of this line:
"I'm so tired of being tired". RIP Tom Petty

A late bloomer to Tom Petty, I find him the other Eric Clapton of my spirit. Wanted to see him forever in concert and finally did the year before he died.

When my wife and I split up I heard this song and it hit home and cut deep. That was in 2012 and we are still married to this day!
