Fun fact: The earthquake really happened and they just filmed some shots from the aftermath. It was in the script so everyone thought Wes was the devil on set making things happen lol

Wes Craven's first attempt at a meta movie and it worked out pretty good. This is one of my favorite Nightmare movies but it's also interesting as a prototype for what would eventually become Scream.

Heather has said this film and the original are her favorites .. of all the series . Another fun fact she's wearing the original pajamas , from the 84 film . She said after the film was done she stole them from Wes Craven , and kept them lol

This movie was intended to be a more dignified send off to Freddy Krueger than Freddy's Dead...I think it succeeds.

The younger nurse is Wes Craven's daughter. She and her friends are why Johnny Depp got the role of Glenn. Lin Shaye is the sister of producer Bob Shaye, and you see her in a lot of small New Line Cinema roles. There are a few others in the funeral crowd from other movies. One of them is Tuesday Knight, the one who played Kristen in part 4.

I have always loved this movie. It's telling that this was Craven's last film before "Scream", before he decided to take meta-horror in a more satiric direction instead of this brilliant myth about storytelling.

Such a wickedly brilliant film. The entire Langenkamp trilogy are the best of the best and depending on the mood anyone of the three are easily my favorite. Such a shame that more people didn’t see this upon its release. I was smart enough to see it in theaters in 94 as a teenager.

This movie is very meta, showing what would happen if Freddy Krueger, a fictional character, would escape into the real world to wreak a horrible vengeance against those who wronged him throughout the movie franchise.

This is also my favorite of the Nightmare series. It's far more cerebral and frightening than any of the others. Also, Miko Hughes, the actor playing Dylan, has been acting since young childhood. He was in Pet Semetary, Kindergarten Cop, Apollo 13, Spawn, and he's still acting to this day.

This one was so chilling to me when I was younger. I distinctively remember watching this upstairs at my cousins house. It was the 3 of us watching in the dark on and old box tv lol. The Julie scene came on and when he said “ever play skin the cat” and then started to drag her we all looked at each other and ran to go outside of the house screaming. My eldest cousin ran out first leaving us behind and I swore as I looked behind me down the long dark hallway as we frantically tried to open the door, I saw Freddy approaching us arms stretched out like in the original. Lmao it was the scariest thing I had experienced and took years for me to revisit the movie.

Fun Fact: The actor playing Nancy's son later went on to purchase the playground equipment from the movie when the owners wanted to tear it down. They were gunna tear it down for safety reasons I think. Now he has it on his property

The truck hitting its brakes to avoid hitting Dylan brings the Pet Sematary PTSD.

This film is certainly the best in the series. Wes Craven had significantly improved as a writer and director in the ten years since the first Nightmare, and this time, he was afforded a proper budget to execute his ideas effectively.

This movie was such a redemption for the series and I'm so happy you've seen it

This movie doesn’t get talked about enough. It’s one of the best of all. It takes everything so seriously. And it’s so wonderfully written by Wes. I miss him. He’s a major loss to the entertainment industry. The God didn’t want me line is my favorite of the movie for sure. Love the reaction/review my friends. Can’t wait for the next

The child actor that played her son also played Gage in the original Pet Cemetery, I believe....either way he will forever be the creepy little boy from Pet Cemetery lol

It's in one of the documentaries about the series where they talked about how meta the film was going to get. Like how Wes Craven was actually living in the back of a van just writing Nightmare on Elm Street scripts to keep Freddy at bay and had cut his own eyelids off to prevent himself sleeping

Loved the 1st, 3rd, and this the most. I miss Wes Craven also props to him for the creative storyline to bring back some of the OG cast members. Perfect way to say goodbye to a classic franchise.
