Foam Gargoyle

Make your own lightweight foam Gargoyle / grotesque for Halloween or set props or just plain fun!
**Apologies for the first part of this video that I filmed without the focus lock on**
Using packing foam and expanding foam to create the base, finish with a simple paper Mache or similar for a great faux concrete effect.
Materials needed:
Cardboard
Liquid nails
Expanding foam
Masking tape
Coat hangers
knife/cutter
Paper Mache or similar
Paints

Thanks. First October that we've had rain, so it needed some extra weatherproofing and a tweak on the wings, but they held up.

How does this hold up to rainy weather? Is there a way to make it weather resistant?

So far so good. The Crommelin texture paint that I used is made for outside use and has created a very good seal. After this you could coat with another stone sealer. I found my wings started sagging at their joining point. So I reinforced with some galvanised steel that I pushed into the foam and liquid nails-ed to the gargoyle wings. Painted over with another coat of the Crommelin paint and they have lasted another two Halloweens and they will go out again this year.

Also, you could use the method of fabric and grout or cement if you really want a tougher finish. ruclips.net/video/ixlRoMno86o/видео.html check out my. Jack o lantern video, that's what I used on that and was able to just paint over with a acrylic and spray paints.
