I cross train in Judo and Jiu Jitsu and I love training both. My judo instructor is also a wrestler and Sambo Pan American games champ (years ago as hes a lot older)
@@t.weber64kg yeah I think sambo Steve posted a pic with him years ago with Greg Gibson (Olympic silver medalist in Greco) and sambo champion, and also Paul Le Blanc multiple time sambo national champion. I believe US Sambo members from the 70s and 80s
You can get good ground game from judo and sambo plus wrestling you get better at no gi, in my time training judo in different places I've noticed that your level of newaza depends of how much you want to learn since it doesn't matter to pass your belt test.
Hate to tell ya this but if your catching upper level Jiu-Jitsu guys it's because they are letting you work 😆 leg locks wrestling and no gi isn't practical or is it more effective or efficient. Now learning judo is great because it actually ties into jujitsu as it's predisessor
I’m sorry but that’s not the case I have been grappling for 16yrs and am also a black belt in Judo. If wrestling isn’t practical then why did Nicky Rod succeed so quickly in BJJ? I don’t see how leg locks aren’t effective either.

@@t.weber64kg Steve siroy, I believe he was champ in 1983 for pan am games and he got bronze in sambo world games (not sure of the year)

Yeah there are a lot of Judoka who ignore newaza and just work on their defense
Do you have plan on going to MMA? it would be great to see you fighti at OneFC or UFC.
I do after I achieve a world medal in Sambo. If I fail at getting a world medal I’ll feel like I failed all together
