    I can’t speak for other countries, but Japanese sunscreens will reformulate every couple years. Either because new filters come to market or customer feedback etc. So it’s likely the disparity in ingredient lists is that you got a 2024 version and the other ingredient lists floating around are from previous formulations. Kose sunscreens are great tho so I wouldn’t worry too much about it. They do a lot of testing before market.

    Thanks for all your hard work and I appreciate all the information. I hadn’t considered checking the humidity for the day. That makes sense, though. I was always blaming my own skin vs the weather.

    Please try Australian sunscreens! Sun protection here is taken very seriously and we have some wonderful products. My favourites are the Cancer Council SPF50+ Moisturiser Matte or the Face Day Serum SPF50+, and the Mecca Cosmetica To Save Face SPF50+. I have heard great reviews of Ultra Violette Supreme Screen, Airyday, and Hamilton Everyday Face, which I'm planning to try next.

    I'm using Allie, and I also have super dry skin. It does dry out your skin, but if you apply your serum and moisturizer before the sunscreen, it won't make your skin feel dry.

    Suncut UV eye sting - another suspect for your eye sting may be Parsol SLX (if it’s not octinoxate). The eye sting in sunscreens is a massive issue for me as well, I’ve actually just finished my epic 2 years / 54 sunscreens testing experiment and discovered 4 ingredients that my eyes are sensitive to, and Parsol SLX (aka Polysilicone-15) is one of them. Hope this helps!

    I tried several sunscreens from last year’s favorite sunscreens video and they did not disappoint 😬
    Btw I also live in PNW (Seattle) and this summer has been the warmest so far! Thank goodness it’s not humid coz I’d find it unbearable 🥵 😅

    Your review is so detailed, thank youuu. My experience with the Allie UV gel EX is kinda opposite to yours, it doesn't dry down on my skin and leave a slightly shiny finish, probably because I live in a hot and humid climate.
    If your skin is dry, you should really try the ISA knox sun fluid and Cosrx ultra light invisible sunscreen, I heard positive reviews from people with mature or dry skin.

    PNW resident too- yes dry summers bad for my dry skin. ❤️ filters in Asian spf but find drying effect w/ time/reapplying. Heard Asian spfs cater to their humid climate which explains it. Emulsifiers like decyl glucoside offset humidity but are rather drying. I have no oil to spare. Layering moisturizer under doesn’t help much. I keep hope I may find a gem

    Isntree was formulating their SPFs with old-gen filters so they can sell them in US, which is their primary audience. It's good that they released their newer Onion SPF to compete with the other Kbeauty SPFs, though.

    I almost picked up the Isntree one at Marshall's for $12.99 because I am loving their Hyaluronic Acid Watery Sun Gel but the lower SPF is the reason I didn't. I also love the Nivea Super Water Gel Spf 50 which is an import from Japan.

    Another great sunscreen roundup video! Thank you :) The face Republic one might be for me. I need water resistance. When you say you need a moisturizer under it is that because it can be drying throughout the day? I have oily skin so I like when sunscreens are drying LOL

  • @LinzSee
    @LinzSee Месяц назад +1

    I’ve noticed that the spf only burns my eyes if I’m only wearing skincare and spf that day but if I’m wearing makeup I never get eye burning. Maybe the makeup creates a barrier so it doesn’t migrate as much? In that case, I designate the eye stinging ones for makeup days.

    Are these products non-comedogenic? Or maybe that term is not used in Korean & Japanese skincare/cosmetics?
