    I will never be able to fully express my gratitude to this wonderful man! I listen to him almost every day. He helps me to feel calm n grounded at the beginning of my days and he helps me thru so many difficulties on a regular basis. When I find myself getting upset I remember his words and when my memories are not enough I listen again. Even if only for a few minutes he helps me center in a way nothing else ever has in my entire life. I love his laughter, his "corny jokes" and how he draws one in to his stories which teach such good lessons. About 16 mins in he says i put loving kindness between me and that bastard over there. So real and so true no fairytale packaging. Thank you again Ajahn Brahm for changing my life and thereby all of those around me💞

    Ajahn Brahm, I deeply appreciate your talk. Just lately I happened to know of you. It would've been much better and more helpful for me if I knew of you earlier though, I am so grateful to be able to watch even old talks like this on RUclips. I really like your talks which are funny, helpful, impressive, and truth-penetrating. So many thanks!!!

    I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I have listened to you many times. I think there's a lot of fear in religions but Bhuddism does not teach fear. You teach things that my parents told me anyway since you coincide a lot with ordinary people. You teach a wonder, respect and joy in every day life.

I have wanted to learn about Buddhism for awhile since I had an introduction to it at an art therapy conference in 2013 in Seattle. I don't live in Washington and am still researching about the different organizations. Can you recommend a Buddhist Society in Georgia by chance? It seems there are several organizations.

    After getting enough knowledge from bible n Quran n my friends teaching me a lot about islam....for me i found Buddhist is the best religion that suits me. You can follow any religion but it has to satisfy you. My friend says God will punish me because i know islam but i rejected it. I would care less about it coz i believe in consious mind and energy, compassion n wishdom...wish you luck with your islam religion. May peace be upon you.

    what i learnt from this talk is, that whatever you did in the past to drive your freinds away, you must deal with your problems like a man, rather than dwell in the past and make everyone hate you, you see i have done things that i am not happy with, but dudes i am dealing with those problems rather than creating new problems, you see i got bullied because i made a few mistakes and that made me scared of life, but in my
    own mind i never told anyone, cause at the time i deserved it, i was aidiot

    Skilful means in an unequal power relationship is to inform, legally charge if need be & detach with your feet. Skilful means is staying safe around anyone who has a narrative that abuse & DV in its many forms is a “relationship problem” when it’s a strategy of power & control.

    maybe im being alittle naive but how come we use "thought" to cultivate metta when in other meditation wer trying not to think

    • @anthbrown83
      @anthbrown83 8 лет назад +1

      I have heard that we use thought at the beginning, and when we are experienced, we are simply radiating metta outwards without thought??

    • @davidjones690
      @davidjones690 4 года назад +1

      Perhaps 'thought' isn't the most helpful word in this context? Alternative words could be 'intention' or 'resolve'. For instance, if we say "may all beings be well and happy; may all beings be free from suffering". The 'may' here suggests a strong intention/resolve is being cultivated (one of the factors of the eightfold path)

    i have tried to point out an article that can help you to start discovering the true nature of your mind. you have, on the other hand, pointed me to a video of more hearsays and speculations, which cannot be verified, and which indeed can be refuted through the suttas. i can point out suttas where the Buddha explained the concepts of Gods and creationism, but that is probably pointless. i leave you to judge your wisdom on this matter yourself. thank you.
