I went to the yarn store here in my town and was looking...there was so much wool, cotton was next, silk, linen...I loved all the wool yarns but thought living down here on the Gulf Coast it would be too hot during the summers. I was totally shocked when they told me what they were wearing was wool, it was 80 degrees that day. They had beautiful hand made short sleeve sweaters on made of wool! One lady told me that so long as it wasn't super washed it would be great to make a top out of. Super wash has a plastic coating on it basically and that wouldn't be good for our spring, summer and falls..So...I don't limit myself now while yarn shopping. I explore the wools, alpacas and all the things.

Preach Crystal.....LOL, talk woolly to me. I love Juniper Moon Yarns. So nice. The Herriot is just so great. The Patagonia feels a little rustic in the hank, but once you work with it and wash it, it blooms and becomes much softer. It felts wonderfully. It makes wonderful mittens. For knitting, it works great for colorwork. Wool is the bomb!!! Take care.

Hi Crystal, I watched your Aberdeen’s mystery bags opening and then went to bed. Just finished watching your Little Knits unboxing and love all the delicious colors of yarn. Loving the Juniper Moon mako cotton, so funny, I was looking at the cotton two nights ago.
Thank you for introducing me to Little Knits.
I just love listening to you explain different fibers and all that. You are a wealth of useful knowledge. I’ve learned sooo much from you, so thank you very much.

It's lovely to see you so happy! I can easily picture you saying to everyone in the house, "you *have* to feel this. It's sooo soft!" ☺
There are yarns that give me the heebie-jeebies when I touch them, too. I've never felt linen yarn, but I once had a woven linen shirt and after many washes it turned out to be my favourite shirt. I don't know if linen fabric feels different to linen yarn, though.

Its no accident that fisherman knit sweaters are made from wool ! I cant wait to make a gansey of pure wool !It breaths and has memory The fibers hold warmth and some are water repellant used mostly for outer garments like a poncho! Some patterns for fisherman's gloves /mitts call for the user to wear them wet until they dry to conform to the individual user! Thereafter they are hung to dry ! I do enjoy linen blends but alpaca is my favorite if mixed with merino for stability (silk too)! I wear my wool socks well into spring!
