@@GeorgeTheCloud yes - PTX’s record label are not nice when I comes to copyright release. Which is counter productive to me… I watch new music through reactions and then if I like it I buy the music. IMO it’s Stupid on their part!
What can you say that hasn't already been said? They are simply phenomenal. This is the best I have ever heard them sing. By far my favorite song yet. Kevin is the beat boxer and he wasn't shown very much in this video. Kirstie, Scott, and Mitch are from.Arlington Texas. My guess is they wrapped up the concert tour in that area to be home for Christmas. Just a guess. I hope you are feeling better. Can't wait for you to do the Daft Punk Medley reaction. They won a Grammy for it. Sending you love from Texas!
Thanks Cat Lady! I am healthy again, this video was from a month ago, was waiting to put it out for so long because of copyright, same with Daft Punk Medley, stay tuned!
There are no words in any language that can describe the beauty of this performance. This was just transcendent. This was not a Wall of Sound, this was an Avalanche or a Tsunami.
I recommend that you listen to their Amazing Grace, Bohemian Rhapsody, Evolution of Michael Jackson, 90’s Dance Medley and Sound of Silence (after Daft Punk and Hallelujah). Agreed that “they are in their own lane”! You have an amazing journey ahead of you if you keep listening to PTX.
No matter how many times I have watched this video I get chills every time I see and hear it. The performance is so remarkable - can’t imagine a better performance ❤
PTX does have an older version of this song, but it's from 9 years ago, so a lot has changed in that time. There's no video for it, other than a Yule Log video, just the audio track. That version had Avi as the bass, rather than Matt in this one. Kirstie sang the lead for almost the entire song - it's either one of or her favorite Christmas song. It's a much more "traditional" arrangement, more like what you'd hear sung in a church or at a recital. This version switches off leads multiple times, gives Matt a real chance to shine with his solo, and is a lot more dynamic - plus it's a music video, which means it reaches a lot bigger audience. And not only have the members of Pentatonix grown and changed since the original version, but their audience is much larger now that it was back then. While the members of the group currently reside in Los Angeles (where they moved after winning Season 3 of The Sing-off TV show, to be near the music business overall), 3 of the founding members (Kirstie (Kim Kardashian), Mitch (Freddy Mercury), and Scott (tall blonde guy)) are from Arlington, TX, a suburb of Ft. Worth (and where the Dallas Cowboys play their home football games), so they usually end their Christmas tours in the area, since many of their family are still in the area. Kevin (beatboxer) is originally from Kentucky, and Matt (bass) is originally from Maryland, so unless PTX ended up the tour in the middle of the country and made everyone fly, there's really no way for everyone to end up close to "home".
When they do their Christmas tours they like to wrap up close to the trio’s families in Arlington, Texas. Kevin is from Kentucky I think and Matt is from Baltimore. They all currently reside around Los Angeles. We saw them last month in Hershey. Pennsylvania. Hope they get close enough for you to see them on tour!
I was also at their Hershey show - soooo good! 💗 I live in New Hampshire and would love it if they came to Boston, but so far they haven't made it here. (Last summer, I drove to Saratoga Springs, NY to see their previous tour.)
Recommend reacting to their cover of the Prayer. Then the short BTS video of “Pentatonix - The Recording Of Evergreen “. It shows how created their Grammy nominated album, Evergreen. Be sure to watch The Prayer first due to spoilers.
They do have an older version, but this is an upgrade on that version. Different vibes, certainly, but this one shows off their matured style and voices.
Hi there, yeah I think from what I've seen usually they publish this song and other during the Holidays every year or so, I'm glad I listened to this version.
Gorgeous song. Great reaction. They did a wonderful version years ago. This is better because they have matured as singers and their arrangement on this is spectacular. I did sub and check out a beatbox battle video reaction you did. For PTX they have a huge catalog. For vocals you might like The Evolution of Michael Jackson, Mad World, Radioactive, Daft Punk, The Prayer, Amazing Grace, and Can’t Hold Us. For a fun Christmas one Last Christmas with Hikakin and Seikin, two RUclips Korean performers/ singers/ Beatboxer. They do a funny mini battle in the middle of the Christmas song. They are all individually talented and together they create greater magic. They have won 3 Grammys and are nominated for another one that will be announced in Feb ( I hope they win) Last Christmas is from their nominated album, Holidays Around the World. After Daft Punk if you have doubts all really them they do perform the song live at concerts and there are lots of videos. I recommend the official video first because the visuals are fun. They won their first Grammy with Daft Punk.
Hi there, thanks for your support, glad you're watching the beatbox videos as well. I actually already watched Daft Punk Medley, just waiting for copyright to put it out so stay tuned!
In 2023 they did a World Tour with over 80 concerts in Asia, Oceania, Europe and the US in March, May and August-Sept. Then they did a US Christmas tour with 20 concerts from Nov 12 to Dec 21. It looks like the last time they were in Boston was 2016. They did a few dates in Mexico, Brasil and Argentina in 2019, so if you get a fan base going down there maybe they'll be back. You can find lots of live fan-posted concert videos on RUclips, some fan-recorded and some captured from pay-per-view streams. Here's a live version from 2022 of one of their original songs, "Sing" -- ruclips.net/video/Np1uJlIS0pE/видео.html
If you watch the outro to Sound of Silence, they mention a world tour that they are going on. That video was from 2019, and their world tour was postponed for several years due to Covid, and only completed in 2022 and 2023. So it's been awhile since they've been in Central or South America, but I know they've toured there in the past. So there's still hope for you getting to see them in person!

This is grown up, mature Pentatonix. The older version is good too but this one is just over the top!! Sooooo good!! 🙌🏻❤
I'm glad I listened to this version, Have been waiting a month to publish this video due to copyright!

Very poetic description, I like it!

Thanks for the info Stephanie!
Kiss from a rose was a live performance. Quite a big difference in the performances
Hmm I hear ya, good point there

Thanks for the spoilers warning, will keep that in mind!
Subbed for more PTX reactions. PTX has
Grown and matured so much since the sing off in 2011. They were amazing as the Babytonix but now, WOW !
I can see heir growth too, thanks for subscribing, Welcome aboard!
Actually they tour the world including all of the different parts of the USA. They are based in Los Angeles.
Very cool, hope to see them live one day.
They are based in California, but three of them are from Texas…close to Ft Worth…Kevin (beat boxer) is from Kentucky and Matt (bass) is from Maryland.

@@GeorgeTheCloud Their lives of that are impressive. The video is just so different to what you expect from a cappella.
